Yesterday I had dinner with a lady doctor from work. She's Chinese. He he he, cute kaayo. It was interesting how she was asking about my romance history on our first date. Uwawon bajeha. But her smile is so beautiful. Very pink lips.

The time is 3:26 pm. Helping the medical staff and administration staff compile statistical data for our feasibility study on a 5 year projection of medical & nursing programs in a 50 mile radius from our campus facility. How very befitting. Doing a lot of psychometric work today. On the 24th of January is my first day of my doctoral statistics class.

today I purchased three books on bivariate statistics, quantitative statistical models, and medical psychometric analysis. spent close to $600 on books. ka mahala oy.

happy ko kaayo that the nurses brought food during lunch. i didn't bring food kai naka limot ko. so thankful for the nurses to share their "baon" with me and other docs. as always, the pinay nurses are so supportive for us poor young doctors.

I smiled today when I got back from work because when I checked my mail, I found a refund check for $70. Apparently I over-payed the electricity bill the other month. I didn't think so. Its just amazing how God sends His blessings according to His own time.

I had just talked to my good friend Don. It was good to hear that he is doing well despite his break-up. Luoy pod siya. May God give him the strength to heal his broken heart. I pray that the good Lord send a kind woman to him who will love him as he loves and as he deserves to be loved. When doors close, God opens new doors for us....

Today at work, I was having fun with the nursing students.

Asking them about the bacterial types that infect burn-wound patients. And quizzed them on types of antibiotics. Hahaha! One cute nursing student said to me, "Okay, Doctor, why don't you tell me about...." she reversed it on me. Gi askahan ko nija about antibiotic types. Kuyawang bajeha!

i'm prepping for another work week. today we had a day off because of martin luther king day, which is a national holiday here in the 'states. this week will be the start of another doctoral class, "doctoral statistics: medical psychometrics and quantitative analysis". there will be some 18 students in this ph.d class. i've met some of them already during last week's orientation; many of whom are substantially older than i. the topic of last week's orientation meeting was discussing the difference between master's program and the doctoral program. when it was my time to introduce myself, i explained that i'm currently finished the m.d and now interested in finishing up the ph.d program. one of the students, an older lady by the name of suzette, said to me, "oh you really don't have a life do you?".

no social life. probably, yes. i smiled before i responded, "i guess so."

i think this class will be interesting. i can't wait to start to learn the different statistical models that will allow clinicians to produce projections relating patient health issues and hospital treatment modalities.

The time is 1:51 am and im still up finishing up papers from work. Today officially marks my first day of my doctoral statistics class. I have to go to class tonight after work. Luckily for me, i only have class 3 times a week.

Na unsaon man ni ha. How will i juggle hospital rounds, teaching duties and learning duties? I feel stretched out. And I was a fool to think that doing a dual M.D-Ph.D program would be easy.

O Lord my God. I am so stressed.
