Today was a good day, I took my new puppy "Pippa" out for a stroll after cleaning up the apartment. Getting my files and paper work ready for another intensive week. I'm not going to try to overstress myself with work, the secret to balancing work and study is finding that balance.

been a victim of murphy's law today.

banana republic had to report late for work because he had to accompany me to the animal shelter to get our cat who's been under observation for four days now.

he had to tell the driver who fetches him to just go ahead to the office without him as i will be the one to drive him to work in a little while.

the driver leaves, but had to be called back because our car wouldn't start. diagnosis: battery drained. i've forgotten that i haven't used the car for five days straight.

i take the office vehicle of the banana republic, something that i hate doing, to the animal shelter to fetch our cat.

smiling, i asked for our cat, but the vet tells me that the cat had to stay longer for more days of observation. she may be suffering from feline schizophrenia. heavens!

i search in the internet. huhuhu. there is such a thing as feline schizophrenia, after all.

she's a very sweet cat. i can't believe it. kamo bay naay iring nga mabuang, lalim bah! huhuhu.

Note: In Medical Rotations, even 5 cups of pure black coffee has no effect.

Just came back from an errand to fill up papers. Thank God today is Sunday and 'Labor Day Weekend'. Wala yamo hospital duty ugma. I can actually rest and spend some time with my puppy and friends ugma.

Ugma, maluuy ang Ginoo, maka adto ko sa Simbahan. I missed Sunday Mass karon kai nag duty man gud ko ganina.

Let it be known that I miss my family. Mommy, Daddy , Ondoy Don Don og si Ondoy Andre. Gi mingaw na ko ninyo tanan.

what i've been doing in the last few days including today and most probably in the coming days is doing the paperwork and needed coordination in importing my cats to the philippines and beating the deadline. nagsakit na akong tiyan. mao nga tukhi-tukhi lang usa ko dinhi sa tb.

Money, money, money and more money. It seems to me that everyone (well most) seems to be interested only in the monetary aspect nowadays. I'm getting really annoyed at all the expenses one has to pay to do rotations, not only that, what one is expected to pay later on (thank you so much medical school loans).

It must be nice being a wandering poet. Who does not have to worry about paying things off.

Why is it that medical education has to cost us $350,000 ? Is it fair that as a medical resident one's salary is only $45,000 ? Who ever created the concept of "interest rates" should be shot!

Having thought about the life in Chicago, I have realized that I would be open to finishing residency in this city, but I don't want to permanently live here. The state of Illinois is a democratic state, and like most democratic states, is a welfare state. The taxes here are ridiculously high. In the city of Chicago, we have to pay 10% sales tax on everything (this is not including the 25% that is subtracted from our salaries!).

And where does it go to? Social programs...at the expense of the hard working middle class!

I had a very interesting dream last night. Perhaps someone can translate this dream for me. My dream was me walking in a wooded bike path, trees on both sides, there were people walking by that I knew-- friends that I had not seen in a long time. I also saw my friend Rob (who passed away in 2007). I was elated. Then the weird part. As I was walking , the path ended with a big tree in front of the path that had a mirror attached to it. I looked at the mirror. Na hadlok gayod ko. I saw myself , but i was wearing a black coat , black outfit and a clerical collar. Na kadlok gayod ko.
