There is actually a lot of opportunity for medical education. I have a friend who is also currently finishing up his Ph.D (dual program pod sija; pariho sa ahoang program -- he is an M.D-Ph.D). Anyways, my friend just deliberated his Ph.D doctoral dissertation successfully. So I am happy to hear of his successful completion of his Doctoral Candidacy (the prestigious Ph.D program from Northwestern University).
I am so happy that he was offered a post-doctoral research position as a faculty at Loyola University , another prestigious university here in Chicago (a historically Catholic University, by the way). I found out that he is going to go into Medical Education / Medical Research in addition to practicing clinical medicine on the side. There really is a lucrative field in medical research and medical education after I found out that he was offered a very comfortable research position; dako pod diay ang sweldo he he he!
Anyways, I am inspired by his direction. Perhaps I may also apply for a full time professorial position after finishing my Ph.D doctoral candidacy. Treating patients is a noble task, definitely, but dispensing education and medical knowhow to one's students is a truly rewarding feeling.
Research,....art thou mine friend?
