Have you all ever wondered to yourself how fast time passes? As I sit here at my office, I cannot believe that I am already 27 years old. It feels as if it was just yesterday when I was just entering college as a freshman. This morning , as i talked to my younger brother Don Rico, who is 19, I was giving him advice on applying for medical internships for his pre-medical studies. I am very happy , tho, to know that my brother is following in my footsteps in entering the medical field. Ingon siya nako, "I want to be a Doctor just like you, Kuya!". Katawa pod ko dali, mao gajud ijang choice. And knowing Don Rico's excellent study habits, and his determination, I have no doubt that he will be a great doctor. In two years time he will be preparing for the MCATS (medical college admissions test), and i want him to start preparing for that exam now. This way, by the time he takes it, he will score Above Par and will get admitted into the best schools.

So I pray that he continues with this plan -- and that it bears fruit.

My little brother who in my mind i keep on thinking of as a baby is now already 19! Paspas ra gajod ang panahon. I am so proud of him for all of his achievements and because of his determination; as a student, as a worker, and as a brother.

He truly has grown up into a fine man. :)

Yes, Bran.. Nahunahunaan na pod na nako while I'm soul-searching. I can't believe I am going 33 and still single hahahaha.. Whenever I see my niece growing up, I always tell her, "Baby, you're making your "Tata" (dili kalitok ug Tita) old.

i cannot believe that i can no longer negotiate a 100-meter dash run when i used to be a good runner enough to be a contestant in this field, nor play bowling (doctor's advice for my bad back), or even climb six flights of stairs without stopping midway to catch my breath.  how fast time flies, but it seems i have flown faster in age.  there, there, now i'm telling myself not to regret anything...

Jenneth,

Paspas ra gajod kaajo ang panahon. Truly. I can still remember when I was still a child , karon, as I look at the mirror, its hard to believe I'm 27. But you know, after reading your personal anecdote, I guess age is nothing but a number. Even tho I am 27 , I still feel like I am 18 years old. Ha ha ha ! If you know what I mean. ;-)

And by the way, 33 is still young pa man. I guess we are in the same age group, Jenneth. In that late 20's, early 30's grouping. he he he!

Dont worry about being single. Just think -- you just haven't met the right guy yet. I'm sure you'll meet him soon.

Gotta keep on aiming to find that Quality guy, babe.

:)

Ah, but my dear isles, age is nothing but a number. If you never told me how old you are, just by reading your posts--- the fiestyness of your postings would deign me to guess you are still in your early 20's or even -- ehem, late teens. ;D

glad you're laughing over it.  really, that's nothing to get anxious about.  we know of married ones who are dying to get out of their marriage.  besides, single blessedness is a choice.  been there.  only the teases and being paired with just about any available guy are the irritants.  but these too shall pass.  what is constant is you will always be your own person. :)

You know, dili sa panghambog or something, but I laughed every time I see the reaction of someone who asked how old am I.. One time my superintendent ask me (in front of supervisors also) how old i am, I said, going 33 na sir, and their reaction, "HA?!?! 33 na ka Neth? Abi namo mga 27-28 ra ka. Geez, thanks mga Ma'am mga Sir ;D ;D ;D

When you laugh at problems or in any difficult situation, makapabata gyud diay..

ha ha ha ha! opposite diay ta, Jenneth. Because for me, people usually think I'm older. At the hospital, people usually think I am older than my age. I usually get asked the following, "How old are you Dr. Lucino?" Mo katawa ko kai I say, "I'm 27...."

Mo ingon sila, "Whoa, really, Dr. Lucino? I thought you were in your 30's"

:P

I remember one time in college my gf at the time said to me, "Lorenzo, you're very mature for your age." I was still 21 at the time. :P

I guess thats one thing i've never done -- was being a bad boy. Di ko pala inom, di ko pala sigarilyo, i never really hung out with the party-hard crowd in my early 20's. Conserbatibo lang , kuan..very straight edge type man gud ko.

Mao na i guess people think i'm older.

Jenneth, I'm sorry that you experienced a break up with your bf.

Honesty is key in any relationship, Jenneth, and if there is no honesty, there is nothing. Its like building a house; to build a really good house, you have to set a house's foundation on solid ground. Never on sifting sand.

Being with a person who is a liar, an untrustworthy individual is like building a house on sand. So, good job on dumping that guy who was being duplicioutous with you. You deserve better than that. You're worth more than that.

Don't let him back if he's a liar and untrusworthy. If the did it once, they'll do it again. I know you'll find a better guy ; a quality guy. I'm a firm believer that God will send someone along the way to complement you.

Bitaw, I'm scared I might end up with a wrong guy.. Mahal ang annulment. 6-year relationship with a guy ended last month.. Saon man sige man pamakak, nasakpan na deny lang gihapon. And now, he's trying to win me back.. I don't know, I'm not ready to forgive him.. who knows! ;D ;D :D

those six years were not wasted, as you may admit deep within you.  but take your time... to forgive, if he's worth it in your estimation.  whatever, see to it that you remain kind to yourself.  what i also mean is to never make the mistake of having him as an emotional crutch because of your fears.  chances are the crutch might end up as a baseball bat and you are the ball.

oh, yes, lorenz is right; once a liar, always a liar.  but we also have to believe that human nature prevails.  every person is redeemable.  take your pick.

so sorry for sounding like an advice column writer (noy kulas?! ;D).  i can't help but empathize, that's why.  i've been through hell and back myself, long ago and far away.  if i could find a way to help others avoid the pitfalls, i would.

Mao ba? Because putatively you have no dissipation you seem older? Di kasabot si Bugsay ani... :P
