i have, ever since i can remember.  i have always been a night person, in the league of vampires.

i just want to let you know that i woke up at 7:30 pm (some hours ago) after an afternoon nap that turned out to be a full sleep cycle, in another time zone.

I have the same problem. Or is it a problem if you can afford this kind of pattern? Sama ni Bay Bugs I love my unlan, labi nag ting mata nas buntag hehehe ...  ;D

oh isles, you're too cute (referring to the zoo, lol, i'm going to be thinking about the zoo now while im checking patients today, ha ha ha). if you really cannot sleep next time, take sleeping pills just don't abuse it or use it chronically. make sure to buy new ones tomorrow when you wake up, don't use the expired ones..throw those old ones away. sige, go to bed na, sweat dreams and hope you see yoga dogs in your sleep ;)

i'm going to head on out na. break time is over na baya diri.

till next time, dear.

hahaha!  i dare not think that you might end up telling your patient this: okay, now breathe and bark... let me see your tail... ;D

yes, thanks lorenz.  i would seriously consider sleeping pills.  i trust myself enough not to abuse them (i'm not a pill popper, that's why).  my foremost reason: to reduce my eyebags, hahaha!  how vain naman...

getting them here would take time, though.  i need a doctor's prescription and copies of my i.d.  pharmacies are required to give monthly reports, including the names and i.d. copies, of those who bought anti-depressants like sleeping pills.

in ader words, matug kun katulgon, how nice!  marching to a different drummer bitaw gyod unta... besides, unlans are real luxuries few can afford, especially at 9:00 a.m.

what a life... unta.  but the doctor told me that unless i discipline my sleeping habits, my bad cholesterol will continue to soar.  it used to be that my good cholesterol impressed the doctor, karon, huhuhu, different species na ko kay gamayng baye nga taas ug bad cholesterol.

Try one shot of cider vinegar once a day for at least a month or two... claims by other people sound like it a sure bet! I wonder if regular suka we Pinoys use would do the trick? Ajaw laman patabanig chicharon ha...  my weakness!!!  ;D

chicharon... huhuhu, o my life, my joy!  di na hinoon ko mokaon ug chicharon sa carcar kay super gyod sa ka-rich ug mantika, pero naay bag-o ron diri sa manila nga brand-- lapid's chicharon (di tingali pod ni kang senator lito lapid or sa tag-iya sa lito lapida maker...), arang lamia, di pa gyod makahingo.

yes, fr chic, ugma dayon, mangita ko ug cider vinegar.  it means i have to go to the imported section of a big grocery store here.  ang duol sa amo nga available nga suka kay kana ra mang gabahag nga ginganlan ug datu.  no apple cider hereabouts.

luckily, tomorrow is a saturday.  magkakuyog mi ni banana republic kay di baya ko kabiyahe diri sa manila kun ako ra usa.  excited ko ani da... thanks for the tip.

i already have apple cider vinegar, yeheee!  ugma na lang ko mo-shot kay nanukad pa ko ani; mustering enough courage to dare to take in apple cider vinegar tomorrow morning, post-breakfast.

motuo ko ani bisag wa pa ko kasuway; i spent some time today poring over its pros and cons.  the pros outweigh the cons.  besides, the latter is controllable.  thanks, fr chic!

nag-shot na kog apple cider vinegar.  feeling nako afterwards mora man kog nag hypoglycemia, hahaha!  i read that this vinegar is also good for diabetics, so i kind of related the effect.  since i am after lowering my cholesterol, i opted for the 1 tablespoon mixed with a glass of water.  a little may not result in hypoglycemia aron di haw-ang ug di ko malipong.

woke up and kusmod dayon.  nangluod ni banana republic kay, you know, nanobrag limogmog gabii.  nagbarong tuod ug jusi kay formal official function, pero nisarasay.  i hate that.

the night was capped by no boxing bouts, thank goodness.  aron wa koy masulti, gipuno na lang nako akong baba ug hopia.  suwayi god ninyo... way gyoy malitok bisan unsa nga balikas kun ang baba puno ug hopia.  nakatulog na lang ko gabii nga naglingkod atubangan sa tubagbohol tungod sa kapungot.

aw, nagbabayay man hinoon mi ganinang buntag.  pero lamia patiran uy.  makahiubos kay kahibawo baya na siya nga mag-palpitate dayon my poor heart kun di na siya buotan tungod sa sugo sa bad spirit of the wine... inom, fine, sukdon lang unta ang makaya, di ba?

nagsige kog kanta ug "touch by touch" aron ma-memorize ang lyrics.  (gi-post ni nako lately sa free download music nga thread dinhi sa tb.  ambot nganong free.)  strangely, usa ni sa akong madunggan nga kantahon often sa videoke.  the song made me curious; it's likeable even if the videoke singers are not.  pero por santo, arang kabati diay sa lyrics.  but i like the music.

islander, maayo pay natulog nalang ka ug imo o di ba kaha nagtan-aw ug movie. naa gani uban sa kalsada na matulog tungod sa kahubog. :)

sound advice.  difficult to follow though.  the intimate truth is that if i slept before him, pukawon gyod tawon ko sa kanahan, maglabad lang akong ulo morag ako na hinooy nag-hangover.  kun di pa pod si lover boy makauli, di sad ko makatulog kay mahadlok kog nakatulog na sa kalsada, gadug ug basurahan kay nasaypan niyag ako.  pagka way dungog.  kinsa bay asawa nga ganahang masaypan nga basurahan...

over-eating ko ug peanut kisses.  nagmahay.  kept thinking about meeting my niece for lunch tomorrow, agig celebration for her passing her diplomate of something in medicine.  excited ko sa iyang additional estorya.  tingkagol baya gamay ning pag-umangkona.  mao ni ang nisakay ug tricycle sa elementary pa nga way ikabayad mao nga nikaratil na lag dagan.

partial pa nga estorya ang niabot nako, arang na nakog katawa.  this is true:

panel of doctors asked a question during her diplomate orals---

my niece:  i'm sorry, doc.  my mind has gone blank...

panel:  come on, what is it?

my niece [shouting]: god, help me!

(suddenly, she rattled off the answers, perfectly, without even glancing at her notes.)

panel: oh, god is so helpful!

Ran around and was on my feet today at work. We had a lot of codes, ah, the craziness of Friday. There was a lot of admissions just couple of minutes before my shift was over. They asked me if i wanted to stay a couple of hours kono to "volunteer". ha!

Anyways, tomorrow I have another diagnostic to take, then the whole day looks like more review and reviews. Maybe I might get to squeeze some free time to go get dinner with babycakes. Luoy pod intawn, wa ko ka kita niya gahapon og karon kai busy lagi mi duha sa among schedule.

I am going to go and get food in a bit. But yea, reading that Father had all those crabs n oysters, woooeee! i wish we had that here in Chicago. :P

Maayong Buntag.

The time is 7:50 AM and now getting ready to go to work. The duties of a doctor never ceases. Sleep is the only time a physician has respite. Hope you all have a great weekend. Work time na pod pra nako. Cheers! Here's to our health!

This afternoon, babycakes and I went to an Indian restaurant called Tiflin in Chicago. It was a nice venue, but what I really liked about the place was their glabjamu dessert. The food was, in all honesty, decent, the chicken tikka masala and the punjabi paneer could have been better, it was not spicy enough, imho. I told her, "next time we should just go to a filipino restaurant." :P

wondering, awed, wondering more why i find myself often near disasters.

last year i was in a tsunami-prone area where we were asked to go to higher ground.

a couple of years before that a series of fires in two places hit our next-door neighbors.  then a big flood hit one place where we stored most of our household things.  the damage was immeasurable.  most of our glassware was broken.  (henceforth, i stopped collecting.)

i was in cebu when the earthquake struck.  (to count my blessings, at least i wasn't in negros oriental.  but that's small comfort considering the lives lost.)

last saturday at almost midnight, a big fire broke out right across the street.  3 kids, all toddlers, perished.

i was ready, in case.  our two recently-rescued-off-the-street kittens were already in their carrier, and beside the carrier was my permanent "emergency bag" (containing valuables, legal documents, some cash, and a change of clothes).  i figured i can carry both while running.  and since we just came from watching a pyromusical contest (china vs. the netherlands in this instance) at the mall of asia and hadn't changed to house clothes, i simply changed from high heels to running shoes.

glad we heard an anticipated mass before the pyromusical contest.

sunday.  cat food and cat litter were down to the last.  so i called a tricycle driver from across the street who has become my "suki"; a tricycle ride is a straight ride to my source of pet things.  a jeepney would mean two excruciating rides while a taxi is untrustworthy.  it turns out that the tricycle driver had lost everything in the fire.  he said he's glad that his family is safe.  he was sleepless, though, and his family now has to make do with the sidewalk.  so i understood why the ride was very bumpy.

it's not easy to look at tragedy this close and personal.  what else was there to do but pay him many times more than the usual fare?  he expressed his thanks profusely over and over...  oh, well, there are many ways of expressing gratitude.  the extra fare i gave was my way.
