this has taken on a more heightened nuance for me after reading (until 4 a.m.!) that thread on the obituary for orchids, that thread back in 2008 when tb was still a very strange creature for me. (i came across the forum thereabouts but never gave a thought to joining then.) i was surprised at my own tears over a young life suddenly cut short, over all the outpourings of grief, the disbelief and lamentations of lorenz, the offers of prayers from just about everyone. heavens, i thought. these are real people! people who care even in cyberspace!

Of course! I wish you could really enjoy the fiesta mode in Southern Leyte. Im sure you will still find difference between the way we celebrate our fiesta (Southern Leyte) compared to that of Boholanos.

Hahahahaha. Dili kay baki ra Bro. We do also have tarsiers but their number is in constant decline not like those in Bohol. Naa puy Philippine monkey-eating eagles. Sa amoa sa Libagon ang may pinakadaku ug forest cover sa Southern Leyte. I hope nga kining mga conservationists take the effort of mapping the wildlife of Southern Leyte on a wider scale.

When I joined TB, back in 2007, when i used to check this website (i really loved the website because it was bohol related) my friend rob used to check it out as well. he used to ask me, "what does that word mean?" lol. always inquisitive; that's how he was like, isles. he was such a very good soul with a very old-style twang to him.

we planned to go back home to bohol together in 2008 for our post-graduation present. with rob's unexpected passing, plans were put on hold and this website allowed me to mourn.

i maintain a thread for him; his mother and father found this website and read all of my postings. his mother registered tb so she could contact me.

you would have loved him. he was very boglbogolon yet very respectful; a free-spirited kind of guy. my exact opposite. we clashed when first met in college back in 2004; but over time, we became very good friends--brothers.

you would have liked him. he was the type that would have made anyone laugh.

These blood thinners will work by reducing the probability of his platelets from clotting ; it will reduce the chances of getting future strokes.

Honestly, my dad and i were like cat and dog, we always argue. Stubborn man gud kaayo ba. He used to take aspirin pero gi undangan niya naa pa to Simvastatin for cholesterol tapos metropolol.. tanan Bran gi undangan kay wala siya ka angay..Ako na lang ingnon nga "ayaw gud sige gawas pa kay init kaayo panahon" kana Bran malipay ko kay mopato-o pa. Mura siya ug batang gamay bitaw nga kelangan pugson gyud ug taman para lang gyud moinum ug tambal..

Thanks kaayo for the advice Bran, i'll apply this one for mama. Mura'g naga show na man ug sign of hypertension si mama (hopefully wala unta) tungod man ni sa ka init sa panahon.. 32 - 33 degree Celsius ang kainit dire..

Dearest Jenneth,

Basta dealing with elderly citizens, sometimes they are very stubborn. Mao lagi, kai ahong lolo galing mag pa stubborn stubborn sija from time to time. When I was back home in Bohol in 2010, I took him to the Tagbilaran Community Hospital as well as Ramiro Hospital for his general check up and his peg-tube change. Since I was home, I wanted to make sure he had his medical check up and charts up-to-date. Kani lagi si lolo pa labad labad og ulo especially ug init na ba. hehe

When we were getting his medicine , I was instructing lolo's caretakers on how to give the drugs to him; when to do it , etc. Ingon pod ahong lolo , "Ah, di ko gusto mo inom ana, doy."

Ingon ko nija, "Ngano di man ka gusto mo inom ani, Lolo?"

Ingon pod sija, "Kai pait lagi, di ko mo angay ana."

Ingon baja ko, "Na, lolo, og di ka mo inom ani, mo taas imong high blood pressure, simbako , lolo, unsaon man og ma sakit ka? Ug mamatay ka , wala na ko lolo nga pinagga kaayo nako. Di na ko ka sulti nimo, ug di na ka kita nako."

Ingon gajod si lolo, "Awww, ayaw pang sulti ana, DOY. o sige, mo inom ko ko lagi."

hehehe!

We really have to keep aware on what they are taking, Jenneth, kai especially now galing, nga tigulang na sila, sensitive na kaayo ilang system. Ayaw'g gajod kalimta ipainom og aspirin imong papa. Imong mama pod, e-remind'a na sija na inom na ug HYPERTENSION drugs. She needs to control her hypertension.

I could not help but feel empathy and understanding on your part, Vince. In case of friction and conflict at work, it's really good to address the situation and make it know that you hear what they are saying, as well don't be afraid to comment on your disagreements with them. I've been in a situation before at work as well as in the classroom where I have been lectured down as well as put down by some attending M.Ds who think that they know everything and have the priviledge to put down any requests by medical interns; or even have the audacity to think that we don't know what we're talking about. I remember one time, i was working shoulder to shoulder with an M.D in the Intensive Care Unit and as the Intern that night, he felt as if he could take advantage of me. I really got fed up and objected to him and reminded him of the allied health approach. He stopped baya.

In regards to your work situation, Isles is correct in that conflict resolution should be focused. However, if this same person continues to put you down and belittle you, make it known that you disagree with this person. I can understand that in a work place, there is a sense of competition and rivalry, but this should not be pretext to put others down.

I for one am in the position of stating your mind and standing up to principle.
