 walay lugi - walay wawartz,takwal > penniless

Wala ka lugi - mantinil - substitute ( for the meantime)
 Wala katugbong - same (mantinil)

ex: Sabaw lang tag manok ky wla katugbong.

Tuldok, period (asin) lang atong sud-an ky walay lugi.

Bay, I have four meanings to this word, as follows:

1) glean for valuable information
2) find out
3) scavenge for leftovers
4) make a fishing expedition

you are right with your interpretation as it is one of the meanings I have for the word. I just assume it is also about fishing expedition as it has relevance in meaning. thanks

Interestingly, I'm familiar with the first three meanings but this is the first time I've heard of the fourth. Thanks to you I've just gleaned this valuable information.  :)
