That said, make sure you add potatoes and green peppers to your chicken and chicken liver. ;)
My dog (kaiser) loves chicken liver n beef liver galing. Cooked, that is. ha ha.

Thanks for your input, Alcyx

my liver adobo is only a can of pineapple and chicken liver, simmer for the next 30 minutes or until mauga gamay ang pineapple juice. I'll try the green peppers next time. :-)

Time will teach you all things, all you have to do is listen. When I was younger, I always end up in a heated debate or an argument over some point of view. Now, its recreation or if its not that important, I leave things be.

Nganong magproblema man ko sa dili nako problema. Ug walay mawala nako, ug walay masakitan...KIVER KIVER KIVER !!! hehehe !

Live and let live...

on that note, magluto sa ko panihapon for me and my dogs  :D mag share mi sa atay sa manok..luod naman ug maabtan pa ug ugma, so ilahon nalang nang sobra nako.

1 can pineapple + 1 lb chicken liver = Happy Ging2, Huck dog and Hardydog   8)

my first bf, 2 months older than me in High School... we turned out as very good friends but we didn't work out as BF-GF even though ang ubang ka batch namo, happily married na karon ug naa nay mga anak. We're still in touch and he even helped with my wedding prep to my hubby.

my 2nd BF, 1 year older, ensakto kay preha mi ug birthday....matay, mao jud to pangmovie, kumpleto kaayo. pinangga kung pinangga...asa ka, flowers for no reason, hinatod kinuha, alaga kaayo, pero sobra ka possessive ug seloso....unya pa jud, sa pagpaningkamot, ni abot nalang ko ug 4th yr college, 1st year level pa japn sha. Among joint account, akoy tig sulod pero siya tig withdraw...peskot !  goodbye nimo Dodong, kuwang ug ambisyon, manapat pa jud !!!!

my old old suitor...I was 19, he was 53...to be fair, gwapo bya sad siya murag dagway ni harrison ford, abi sa mga taw nga 39 pa kuno kay kwartahan man, grabe pud mo work out..every week, padala ug 3 dozen roses, nailhan nagud sa LBC among balay. hahahah !

Hoy !!! pahuway jud Lolo ! labad ra...wala pa gani nako sugta, naa nay K mag selos. gipanuhot pud ning usa...mao to goodbye nasad

my husband....6 yr gap. Maayo mo pailob sa akong ga kabuang, mosukol ug inom sa akong barkada ug sa akong pamilya. Responsable, ambisyoso (in a good way) pero mo andar sad ang pagka garaon. I feel very blessed jud. Nakita kog taw nga makasakay sa akong kaboang nga masakyan sad nako.

I think depende man siguro sa batasan sa babaye ug sa lalaki in question, dili man siguro sa age. Naa mga Fil-am couples akong nailhan nga tag 30 yrs gyud ilang gap pero malipayun man sad. going strong. Naa hinuon duol2 ug age gap, nagdivorce nuon kay wala nagsinabtanay.

Sauna, vocal jud ko kaayo kay sagwa bya sad, pero through the years nga naa sad ko mga pinay nailhan in those situations nga normal ra kaayo sila, their marriage is even better than kadtong dili sagwa tan-awa. It gave me a moment of pause.

Truly, it depends sa partners in question.  8)

Naa man jud upside ug downside sa mga opportunity.

Upside, more jobs so more money coming in.

downside...well, nganong mangandoy man ta ug artificial, superlandscaped nga resort nga daghan man mas nindot ana nga dili nila makit-an.

Maybe I'm just weird but when Panglao Island Nature Resort first opened, I was really curious and I visited with my highschool barkada.

Yes, pareha rang dagata, but the people who go to our resorts are paying to be treated like royalty and for their privacy. Syempre...kitang mga ordinaryong taw, we have privacy on demand, sila tawn, wala so they pay exorbitant prices to R and R. We are blessed in a way nga pwede rata magladlad didto sa Kainggit walay magsinamok nato.

Kung sa service pud, let us remember nga kita sa pilipinas, we don't need to be filthy rich para naa tay maid mo tabang2 nato ug mosilbe nato....sila raba kasagaran diri sa gawas, jamu intawn. Mao na nga kanang naay mo-asikaso nila nga hand and foot jud, malipay gyud na sila. Its not too special natong mga tubong pilipinas kay naanad naman ta.

Bao lang pud, this is my 2 cents. I haven't been to all the top resorts but I've been to a lot, between field trips to Plantation bay or backride sa barkada, or laag with the husband. Wala pa jud ko nakita ug resort nga nalingaw ko pag-ayo like sa loboc river cruise or mag-aso falls kauban sa mga barkada ug mga ig-agaw.

;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

They are good to grow with basil and tomatoes.

I had almost 10 Rosemary bushes in 2009 but they all died in winter..

As if pud mo luto ko...no, lipay nako inig gawas nako kay humot kaayo. Opposite sad akong bana, hate jud kaayo niya ang baho, mura kunog bahong Lola...wahahahah !

Rosemary has 2 kinds, upright bush and creeping rosemary. They both have very pretty blue flowers and they smell really good. So beautiful pa imong garden, humot pa jud!

One thing I  used to do is crush rose petals and rosemary plus 1 slice of lemon and mao na akong water. Imbento ra gud pud. I got the idea of Rose Water from the local Mediterranean buffet (Kuma jud, kumakaon), mao man ilang gi serve, then rosemary kay humot and lemon kay adik man ko sa lemon.

It's not the estimate of the number of voters, but the arithmetic. With only P60,000,000 for 30,000 voters,  you can pay only P2000 per voter. If you have to pay P5000 per voter, you need P150,000,000.

I agree, it should be reformed but not in a hurried way nga basta nalang naa. Basin unta pud ginagmayon ug tagsa-tagsa-on ug unsa gyud ang problema, dli nga pareha aning gi tingub ug wala naminaw sa mga hina-ing sa ma-apikhan in a bad way.

To be fair about Canada's HCR, I do have relatives by marriage who are quite happy about HCR, Boholanos to be precise. But then, they've never had a life and death situation like my husband's family. All they had are regular check-ups. They still even go to Dr. Yap for their dental care and pay Dr. Redulla a visit every time they're home for their Ob-Gyne needs.

I see how some people can be happy and content about it. Isn't that one of the very best traits we have as pinoys ? we learn to make do with things that we cannot change.  :-)

What i wanna cite here is that, sa panahon nga sila nag work morag sila nagbayad
adtong mga olds or kadtong dli ka afford, so karon ky sila na usab ang wla nay kaya mag work
ang mga batan-on na usab nagtubos nila thru paying their HC or taxes.

Manay,

I apologize if I am not gifted enough to be concise for you. I do try to explain my point as best as I can, even citing examples of why I have reached this conclusions. If you want, i can break it down numerically.

1.) Canadians may have HC and have already paid for it, but they are still crossing the border to the US so they can be treated without waiting periods.

2.) Higher taxes = higher expenses = lower profits for businesses = higher barrier to expansion and growth = lay-offs = unemployment = BAD BAD BAD BAD (rise in crime, depression, less people that can be taxed, less money in the government pocket, bigger deficit, cutting budget of government programs like NASA, so on and so forth )

3.) Higher taxes = higher expenses = lower spendable income for most families = recreational and leisure industries will suffer = bad business = lay offs = unemployment (see above)

4.) Higher taxes = higher expenses = lower net income for the average filipino family = less $$$ coming into the Philippines = less cousins going to school = less $$ for the sick tatay and nanay

OR

5.) Higher taxes = higher expenses = lower net income for the average filipino breadwinner = filipino breadwinner will have to work double and triple shifts  = filipino breadwinner drops dead of exhaustion and fatigue  = everyone he/she is supporting in the Philippines will suffer.

6.) Obamacare will take care of those who don't have insurance...penalize those who can afford to but chose not to. Will provide insurance for those who can't afford to. Where's the personal choice and responsibility in this equation ?

7.) Main beneficiaries of Obamacare = dregs of society. Why punish the hardworking and upright population to reward the lazy, the indifferent, the irresponsible and the criminals ?

8.) Obamacare will give the government power over who will live or die. To evaluate whether you are worth saving or not. Heaven forbid I should be 80 and still want to live because my life is worth less than if I was 40 and wanted to die.

9.) Personal Choice. Personal Choice. Personal Choice. Personal Responsibility. Democracy. Right to chose. Right to privacy. Any of this ring a bell ?

10.) Obama, Pulosi and their little gang rammed this down everyone's throat without due diligence. They did not listen to protests, their town hall meetings reflected how most of them didn't even read the 900 page bill. They had made claims about what it could and couldn't do and then got disproved. Makes you think, if they tell us false information about little things, what are the big things they are hiding ?

I hope this is concise enough for you and hopefully the substance is there.

Here's to getting an A+

What you share here comes from your heart. Maybe Americans are still skeptic but in the long run, this bill will serve everyone.

Ma'am Hof, I think it works in other countries better than others. If I'm not mistaken, I remember you're in Germany. One of my Aunts is in Switzerland and I think they also have HC. I think we also have to consider the attitude of the people. You don't hear a lot of stories of people taking advantage of the system over there. Tanan nakong nakaila who have lived there are hard workers.

Maybe biased lang ko because I've never been to either Germany or Switzerland but from what I can see, it can work there because there is not too much entitlement and there is not a hue population of people who expect others to take care of them. They have a healthy sense of self worth and self respect.

Not so much in the US. Nonsense lawsuits, entitlement attitude, something for nothing..all of those late night infomercials reflect a lot of the attitudes, bottomline getting something for nothing and expect other people to work for you while you do nothing. (Russ Dalby Cashflow business, Russ Whitney, etc )

Maybe the concept of Obamacare might have a chance if they deliberated on it some more. Changed what really needed to be changed (tort reform) and not messed with the ones that doesn't need messing with.

Sometimes, I think that if its too logical or if it is common sense, chances are politicians will come and muddle it all up. I think at the end of the day, our president just wanted to push his agenda, mistake and all, regardless if its the right thing to do just so he can appease whatever special interest group that put him in power.

I agree that our healthcare here need reform too, but for right now, its unarguably one of the best in the world. Politicians should be extremely careful in changing it.

I think the President truly believes and is passionate about his little project. But based on other things, I don't think he truly thought this one out specially the part about ramming it down everyone's throat regardless if they want it or not. It is still a democracy and there are a lot of protests against it here for a reason. He should have listened to his people. After all, he is there to serve the people... (and ideally not the  ones who gave money to his campaign)  :-)

dunno unZa pamaagi dha, but talking about HCR or med.Insurance here,

it works no hassle gyod,im sure Pres.Obama wla mo baZta² ug implement ana
w/out having so many sleepless nyts to think it over and over again b4 sya me decide,
gawas pa, mi consulta pod na sya -right?

pls. allow me to site some views; w/ due respect, i beg to disagree sa mga supak sa HCR ^â™ ^

- dako jud hinoon ang deduction sa breadwinner (say father) ky covered man ija kids
and wife (if sa balay ra) but they can sleep well nila pah - know why?
kon ma confine ka sa hospital (labina og ma OP)..what if ala ky saving inZakto?
sa gaZtohan..so kon naay Health insurance, dli sila mabalaka then dali ra pod mamaau.(no stress)

- what if mabali ang panahon, ikaw ang wla unja for some other circumtances
wla ky ika afford magpa doctor? how does it feel nga magoul ka ky naa nahospital
unja maglabad pa jud imo ulo aZa kag ibayad?
they see to it nga dli ka mapaZmo baya hee³ (ambot lang dha ing ana ba)

-deri kon naa ka work then it so happen nga ma-estambay ka or tua sa hospital
ang HC man sad mag sweldo  nimog padayon,

huuh daghan pa unta kog e-share as a sort of comparison ..galing ky gitapol nako dok²- sowe tyahaha

You do have a point.

It still doesn't change the fact that most (except ra sa mga pinoy) Canadians that my husband and I know come to the US for their medical needs mao na maka-ingon ko doble ug gasto.

My husband's family is Canadian, they moved here when he was less than a year old pero syempre, daghan pa kaayo nabilin didto sa Canada.

Kung mo ingon gud ta ug HC, maayo man gyud na siya nga concept in a utopian society.

Mo Work jud ni sha pag-maayo KUNG naa enough doctors and nurses and medical staff to take care of you....in reality, dli bya mobakasyon ang sakit, they will never be enough. :-)

Lagi its better to give than to receive. Very Christian. Mohatag ka bisan ug nagkalisod ka, as long as makit-an nila nga gakayud ka, suyopan gihapon ka.

Pero according to CNN, 50% of all homicides and murders, sila naga buhat.

Buot jud nakong ipahinumdum nga ang mga taw nga naningkamot, mawad-an ba ug trabaho o naa ba, dili man gyud mapasagdan.

hahay, mini novela napud... :-)

Mrs. D, I don't think HCR will change how illegals benefit or not from healthcare since kung dili emergency, dili man sad sila maka take advantage even if mapasa.

Mao ni ang akong nakit-an nga kinadak-an jud nga disadvantage.

Daghang illegal diri nga grabe motrabaho, mas pulido pa ug mas kasaligan. You're right, kasagarang nag migrate, ma mexican man or filipino, ni anhi para maningkamot ug wala magpalibre.

To think about it, bisan ang mga illegal motabang ug gasto  in a way..alangan man diay ug dili mosaka ang sales tax..so everytime sila mopalit ug toothpaste, sabon, shampoo at an inflated tax rate, nitabang sila ug gasto sa mga tapulan ug walay pangutok.

Bisan atong dear president wala kabasa ani tanan. Ni  admit sha as much, ni ingon pa gani sha ma covered kuno ang mga bata pero dihay gi cite adtong article akong nabasa nga dli automatically ma covered ang mga bata.

To be fair bya pud, wala nalang sila ni menor despite sa kadaghang protest. Nahitabo gud ron kay sobra ka majority and mga Dem so bisan ug unsaon ug protesta for various reasons, Pasagad sila ug pasa kay kaya man nila. Dili balance kundi party agenda.

For me, dili jud ko ganahan and my main reason is taxes. higher taxes effective immediately and 3 years pa ang benefits nga dili sad mi maka benefit.

Gusto nila pareha ta ug Canada, ang mga Canadians man gani, manabok diri sa US para magpatambal para madali, nganong gusto man ta mopariha ug Canada.  Naa koy ig-agaw didto, manabok diri para mamalit ug sanina, school supplies ug uban pa kay grabe jud kuno tax...unya , kung mangasakit, motabok japon diri kay magpatambal kay dugay kuno ta jamo ma entertain, maayo pay motabok ug mobayad nalang. Nagdoble na nuon ilang gasto.

The benefits of this law favors the majority, this must be taken into consideration first and foremost, this is what is called maka-masa.

I respectfully disagree.

It may seem that way but the domino effect would make the country worse off. and now where would the masa go ?  My husband and I have a trucking business. Nothing big, just a small operation. With this bill, Obama might as well have killed all middle scale truckers. The big operations will pick up the slack that the middle ones can't keep up and we that are starting out can never grow bigger. Why ?  With everything regulated by the FEDS and the government wanting their pound of flesh at every turn, most businesses could no longer keep up with the expenses and in turn, would shut their doors leaving lots of employees unemployed. so now, you have a rise of unemployment.

This country is ran by a lot of small to middle business. Those that employ anywhere between 2-15 employees. The owners are comfortable, making anywhere from $100k-$200k a year. This is the segment of the population that runs the economy and employs more people as a whole than the large corporations because they are present everywhere.  With higher taxes, it would not be conducive for business and of course, the small scale operations will never grow and the ones that can't keep up will again, as stated above, will shut their doors and more people will be unemployed. We both know what that means. The rise of people hitting the poverty line, the rise of crime and less people donating to charity that otherwise take care of these people.

Contrary to popular belief, the American populace as a whole is a very generous society. Think of all the donations this country has given to  the poor around the world. Even our beloved Philippines, who do you think are the biggest donors and motivators behind Feed the children and Habitat ? But I don't think most people will donate if they themselves do not have enough money. Even if we think of the bible and of the story of the woman who gave everything she had to the church, In reality, how many of us would donate money and material things when your family needs it ? Would you give your last P1,000 to the church if your family does not have anything left to buy rice and supper the next day ?  Would you give your last P20 to help some stranger when your own son is dying and that P20 can buy his medicine ?

Please do not forget too that there is a good number of people out there that opt NOT to get insurance. A good friend of mine who owns an internet business makes roughly around $300,000/yr. They opt not to get insured because it will cost them less. When politicians are screaming that there are 46 million uninsured americans, they do not tell you that about 10 million of these are illegal aliens or non-citizens who will not qualify for universal healthcare.

That will leave us with about 36 million, a large group, but of these, about 18 million have income over $50,000/yr. More than half of them $75,000/yr. They surely can afford insurance...that's more than your average new filipina nurse here makes. ( And she will be expected to spend for those people through her taxes.) Those people chose not to have it but they surely can afford it if they want to. Did you know that your rate is different if you are uninsured ? My first hand experience : I do not have dental insurance but I needed  a tooth pulled as it was giving me misery. Had I had insurance, they would've charged me $300 with a $20 co-pay, but since I didn't they charged me $150. I used to pay $35/mo for years that I never had any dental problems, that would make it $420 gone to waste or $1260 for 3 years which I could've sent to my Papa in Bohol to buy glucerna , blood testing lancelets and other diabetic supplies.

In America, 83 million people already benefit from some sort of government healthcare (My Ate in Chicago does and her husband and her makes more than $100k combined). Close to 30% of the country is already living under government health care and there are 14 million more (uninsured) who already qualify for government insurance.

We do not need anymore taxes
.  Specially for something that has no clear benefits and really would not benefit the Masa most people are talking about with the context they have in mind. What we need right now is the right kind of stimulus.

Here's a hypothetical : I am good friends with the owners of a good, long standing Filipino Restaurant here in Houston. From time to time, they take in TNTs, giving them jobs EVEN if they really do not need any more employees. Most of us would understand, we all probably know a few ourselves who are good people and just want to work for a better life.  With a hostile environment and higher taxes, do you think these restaurateurs can afford to take in theses TNTs out of charity ? of course not, they will not have a big profit margin enough to share. Sure, it is the christian way to share and be your brother's keeper, but in reality, that doesnt happen. Most people take care of their own first. ( and I bet you, they would rather spend some money helping fellow filipinos than to give it to the dregs in society through their taxes that will come rob them in the night...or in their parking lot) :o

To close this mini-novela (  ;) ) Your health is an issue of personal responsibility. If you chose to buy a flat screen tv instead of saving up for a rainy day, that is your problem. The really poor over here are already taken cared of by the government. The other "uninsured" can afford their health care even without insurance.  We really really really do not need anymore taxes. It will bring the economy down even further and even if we don't like to think about it, it will profoundly affect us Filipinos too. With a down economy, Ate, Kuya, Auntie, Uncle, Mommy and Daddy in the US can't send too much money back to Bohol because its tied up in taxes. What could've been a new sari-sari store or jeepney is now given to Uncle Sam as taxes to fund Obamacare.

And as the US continue to decline, there will be less and less nurses that they will be willing to import. Think of the millions of qualified, talented young filipino nurses who can't immigrate here because nobody will be willing to sponsor them anymore because the businesses that provide this service can't afford to. This means less $$$ coming in the good old Philippines ! as much as we don't want to admit it, OFWs and other workers bringing in $$$ helps our economy in Pinas a lot.

Our tourism back home would suffer. Its not those foreigners who are the bulk guests of our resorts, you know, but mostly balikbayans willing to drop hundreds of $$$ to bring 10-15 members of the family there for a good time. Seriously, Euros have themselves and wifey, but how many times have you seen them bring the entire clan ?? US based nurses do it all the time. Heck, most of my friends spend money in Bohol like its going out of style yet save and scrimp when they are here. Those taxes won't help them....oh yeah...if its in the bank, it gets taxed too...there is no escape !

My point is, they are trying to  persuade people to support their LEADER...who obviously lack some skill in leadership or judgment since the people he is sending out to persuade others end up being  a nuisance to those they were sent to persuade. It reflects on the head of the organization either way.

This only goes to show that their candidate is not even worth considering and in turn, being a laughingstock vicariously through his minions.

Yup very gyud....  sa bag-o pako ani, blind ko kaau. After nako puyo diri ug dugay2, maka observe bya sad ka. Mas maayo pa gud na sa ato, bisan uyamot, naningkamot man sad, limpyo man pamujo.

Naa mi balay sa akong bana nga among napalit as a foreclosure. Akong gi remodel ug among gipa rentahan. Sige ka late among tenant until one time 2 weeks jud so ni attraka dayun ko dala ug eviction letter.

Sige hangyo2 pasayloon kuno ang late fees...jawa ra ! wala man gani mi flatscreen akong bana nga left and right mi trabaho. ang among tv, kadtong 10 yo niya nga tv pa...sus, among Christmas tree gani, salvage pa, 15 yrs old na.

It is unfair to say that based on your opinion , your candidate reflects your personality. i think it's more owing it to yourself.  Me in particular, If I post something or say something, that is me, and would not tag along people with my behaviors. I am my own man, and I take responsibility for every words that comes out from my mouth.. in which words reflects my feelings at the moment.

all I'm saying is that these idiot's actions reflects the stupidity or lack of judgment of the person they are going nuts about. If you can't reign in your campaign managers and cheerleaders,  how can you lead an entire city or province.

Pakaulaw lang jud.

Let me clarify...it won't be so wrong if I say something like " I support this (candidate) because.... ( there was this one time he showed compassion to me and my family...put your own variations here)"

OR

I support (candidate) because he's done this , this, such and such

not mindless blabber about how the other side sucked. Makes me think that their team is so bad that they have to bring down the other side, or stomp on the other side so they can have a contest on who's lower, not who's higher.

bao, kamo ra sabot, la pako nahuman ug panihapon.

Right now, my husband and I might lose OUR health care benefits because of the passing of this bill. Instead of the money that I could be sending to help my diabetic dad and my Mama who's got HB (like most bol-anons), it would be diverted to higher taxes to pay for who ???? the dregs and lazies and criminals of society that have nothing but ill will against me.

Nganong magbuot man si Obama sa healthcare nga wala ganahi sa kadaghanan left or right.

I don't think there should be a difference if you're posting your OWN opinion and your OWN story boasting about your candidate and why you do not like the opponent as long as its YOURS and its in the appropriate thread.

From what I see, halos kada thread gi ambush naman. Pagka biya oi. If your stupidity and action reflect that of your candidate, well, gasinamok ra mo.

Akong pilipino celfon, walay load unya akong US celfon sad walay signal.

Welcome home kaayo akong feeling tungod adto nilang duha. Ako lang gud pud gihatagan sila tagsa ug Toblerone. Maayo nalang to sa mga anak nila. Nalipay jud ko,  panagsa-on baya  nang naay mo asikaso nimo bisan ug dli mo kaila, pagkangalan lang nga taga Tagbilaran mong duha. Panagsa-on ra sad nang tarong kaayo nga mga taw nga wala man lang nangayo ug bayad, gi ubanan pa gyud ko hantud ni abot akong Mama.

Makatawa man ko mahinumdum adtong pagpauli nako pag December.

Bisan bulaw ug buhok ug green ug mata. Maldita gihapon ug magbinisaya na. Makatagam bya pud.. 8)

This came to mind after one of my "quiet moments" sitting by the pond observing ducks. Don't ask me why but I thought of Bohol and how it could be improved...nothing too scifi or impossible but something that might be a possibility in my lifetime. Mind you, I don't have any political aspirations nor does the thought of abandoning the life I've built appealing. But sometimes, I do hope that I can actually sit down with a major politician and maybe a few business owners who share my vision....or delusion, take your pick.

1.)  Marine & Freshwater Sanctuaries -  as we all know full well, we are blessed with lots of little islands and a network of rivers and creeks around Bohol. It won't cost too much to designate a minimum reasonable area per town to have a marine sanctuary. Panglao has one, in fact. When I was 15, I joined a symposium for Coastal Resources Management in Dumaguete City and we went to Apo Island where they have established a designated Marine Sanctuary. There were lots of birds and per our interview with the fishermen, fish became abundant. If we apply thesame principle on a larger scale in Bohol, we would give our fishes and other marine creatures a place to breed and grow undisturbed so we can replenish the population and fish will no longer demand a premium price. It will be affordable for everybody. Supply and demand. I hope that P250/kilo fish would then be P100/kl since they are plentiful.

2.) Baranggay Nurseries - Maybe I am just an avid gardener or I don't have a life. During my last trip there, my family and I went to Sagbayan a lot to see a special healer. On the way, I've observed that we do have lots of available land. We are blessed with good climate and a good amount of rainfall so here's my thoughts on this. Why don't there be a designated Community garden. We already have huge lots in our schools and kids are already taught gardening in H.E., why can't this be a year round effort and extend to other public places and parks. Again, supply and demand. Our people needn't go hungry if there's plenty. Kangkong and Malunggay grow like weeds. Bago does too. Green Onions and Peppers (sili kaguko) are very resilient in my own personal experience growing it both here in the US and in Bohol. Furthermore, Peppers apparently have more Vitamin C than oranges. Go figure. Growing up, we always had a sibuyas garden, a tomato garden, and a sili kaguko garden. This did not include the kangkong growing wild, the ginger/luy-a on the borders in between the santans, and who could forget, the little sili. Man those bear those nasty little things all year. Handy those, taste good with vinegar. heheeheh !

3.) Tree Planting - No, I don't mean those mahogany forests that is so often encouraged. Its not that I'm against it, I just don't quite see the point for right now. We can encourage fruit tree planting however. Mangoes are easy to grow from seeds and they are even easier to take care of once established. Trees are low cost, easy to grow and even make life comfortable for most of us. Can you imagine, instead of cutting down trees, we will encourage each and every household have a tree in their yard ? They do not take up a lot of space and as i said...easy. We can make it a provincial ordinance, for every XXX sqft of land that you have, you at least have XX number of FRUIT BEARING trees.  Macopa, tambis/waterapple, papaya, banana, jackfruit/nangka, breadfruit/kulo, sampaloc, lomboy, santol, mango, guava, eba, guyabano...so many to chose from.  In my parent's house, we have macopa, santol, guyabano, lansones,4 tambis trees,3 limonsito trees, assorted bananas. malunggay, and papayas...they have a 1,000 sqm lot but minus the 2m right of way, its probably 800 something. Growing up, we always enjoyed the harvests and even had enough to share with the neighbors.

4.) Mandatory CAT and ROTC - I am of the opinion that we should bring this back. Kids could use the discipline. Maybe I'm biased but men of my father's generation has a totally different outlook than the kids I grew up with. More family oriented and future oriented I guess. I am no saint but I think at age 27, you should at least be contributing to the general household instead of still being your parent's dependent.

5.) Mandatory Sex Education -  Common Sense. If our youngsters could be taught to be more responsible and sex is not too mysterious and treated as taboo...hmm...maybe we won't have so many unwed mothers. Of course, abstinence would still be best and physical and psychological consequences should be stressed. Again, I am no saint here, but if our kids can see clearly the consequences of their choices and reiterated constantly, I think it will be a good deterrent for casual pre-marital sex.

6.) Mandatory Cultural Immersion - If we as a people are proud of where we came from, I think it would improve the morale of the populace. Its appalling to think that most people don't even know who the hell Francisco Dagohoy is or Babaylan Tamblot. Nobody seem to know that Bohol was once an independent Republic for 80 years or our other folklore.  If a subject such as this is taught and the learning of ones roots is fostered, I think we can see a huge improvement in our people.  Its not "bol-anon lang tawn ko", rather " proud jud kong bol-anon". See the difference ?

7.) Financial Management for High School Students - Its hard to think that youngsters might need this education when most Filipinos in general don't have that much funds to manage but I think using, condensing and revising the principles found in Robert Kiyosaki's "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" book would be very useful.  I feel lucky that somebody had handed this book to me when I was 17 and luckier still that I devoured its contents and used some of it for everyday life. I'm not rich by any stretch of the imagination, but I feel happy that my husband I have been blessed with what we have at our age.  Instead of spending their time and money playing ragnarok, dota and all of those stupid games, they can spend their time and money fostering entrepreneurship and work.  While minors can't work yet, there is no age limit to free enterprise. It is also healthier...think about it, getting fat and pimply staring at the computer all day and sacrificing their school work, OR , gardening, hiking, doing a side business..well, it keeps you fit, moving and puts money in your pocket instead of out of it.

8.) Mandatory Cooking Lessons in High School Home Econ. -  We have a lot of edible shrubs, fruits and whatever else in the Philippines, we can all use some education in finding cheap, nutritious and healthy foods that we already have. Dinner and lunch shouldn't just be pork pork and more pork. We can have lots of other varieties too. These are things I've gleaned from watching Gordon Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares and my experience at Bohol Bee Farm. Did you even know that gumamela flowers are edible ???oh year, and so are a lot of others. Salads are good for everyone, can you imagine if every family can serve a salad as an appetizer for dinner and then the main fanfare of rice and viand ? everyone would be healthier and fuller...and even make their homes beautiful too...santan was edible , so are aloe vera, cosmos and a myriad of other flowers. I'm thinking high school since its a captive audience and we can start them young.

9.)  Swimming Festival - we live in an island, we have dauis-tagbilaran straight, we have lots of kids....hmmm....we can add swimming to our list of talents. It can also spark a whole new community and jobs. Organizers, boat builders, it can even draw tourism. We can have the pre-teen level ( ages 8-12), the junior teens (13-15), senior teens (16-19) and adults 20++, we can even have seniors men and women. I bet there are lots of over 65s out there that can make the swim in record time too. :-) !

10)  Stricter Punishment for Pedophiles -  it may not be too common in the news but there sure are some we hear about, remember that creepy Canadian guy that always hung out by BQ breadbasket ? or that other foreigner who grabbed  an 8yo girl from Central Elem ? I think the latter happened just this year. If we had the death penalty, I'd say send them straight to the fryer. Jalosjos is long overdue in my opinion. Since we don't, those creeps should be black listed, made to pay a very heavy fine and  a special jail time to make them regret ever coming to the Philippines and molesting our kids.

Idiots like these just need to be boycotted. Sure its maddening but we shouldn't just get angry, lets get even.

Lots of us Filipinos are internet users and a lot more have ties to the US. We can all campaign to boycott his show and any other show that he is invited to guest. There are over 3 million Filipinos in the US and we can all unite to cause his career demise. That's what he deserves. Its been shown how racist and hateful he is, he doesn't have any chances left.

I'm ticked off ..and facebook just take 5 seconds to share the link and motivate everyone to BOYCOTT him and to tell all their friends too. His career taking a swan dive is better than any apology he can ever give. IMO. 8) 8) 8) 8)

Not only nang mag smear...its sad pero murag normal naman tawn na sa ato oi. Kanang mag-apil2 sa mga taw nga walay labot, mao na akong ka bwisitan ug ayo. specially sa Tagbilaran to a point nga mediamen have to fear for their job if they don't do what the owner wants them to do. Maka-labad.

Naay comment ako nadunggan last Dec nga tihik daw mga baodyguards ni Montano...maybe that's a good thing. Dli bya na sila bangko. The less gastos this election, the better.

as for newbies, Look at Gov. Sarah Palin. Former beauty queen, best Mayor of Wasilla and had one of the highest approval ratings among the US Governors and she was not a career politician.

New blood. Kapoy na kaau nang mga career politicians, they're too embedded in the "godfather game". I scratch your back, you scratch mine..hantod wala nalang mahimo kay sige ra ug panghatag ug pabor sa ilang mga barkada.

Obama just killed small business passing this bill....

The taxes start now, the benefits 3 years from now. Small Businesses employ a lot of people and drive the US economy but with these economic situations, dli na makaya sa mga ginagmayng negosyo ang expenses, they will close, lots more people will lose their jobs...mosamot ka luoy ang economy dire. Cause and Effect.

SOLVED.  :P
