The Eucharist is Jesus There for Us. The Eucharist is the very miracle of Salvation. It is an act of salvation. When one takes the Eucharist, he takes the living body of Jesus Christ, proclaiming Christ's death on the cross for us. It is an example of Faith not only in words, but faith in action.

The Wine is not just wine, but the actual blood of Jesus Christ. We do this in memory of him, as he commanded us to do so. He is the Bread of Life.

For us Catholics, as well as other Christians, the danger of "triumphalism" lurks. It is a false pride based upon our belief that we belong to Godâ€™s chosen people of the new covenant and resulting in the idea that we really donâ€™t need repentance and renewal.
