Visions and Dreams

Find baby pictures of family members. Spend some time looking at the pictures and reflecting on each person’s potential, vision and dreams. Pray for each person.

Meatless Fridays

With the first Friday in Lent, abstinence from meat comes to the family table. Serving a meatless meal is meant to promote sacrifice.

we stay in tune with the fasting time. Have a nice weekend folks!

Selflessness

Try to live this day focused on others by avoiding using “I” or “me” in conversation.

CLEANSE YOUR HOME NOW!

"Lord Jesus Christ, Who said to Your apostles, 'In whatever home you enter, greet it, saying, 'Peace be in this home,' let this same peace, we pray, abide in this place. We beseech You to sanctify it by the merits of our trusting prayer!

"Pour Your blessings on it, and make it a place of peace. May salvation enter our abode as it entered the house of Zacchaeus, when You graced it with Your presence.

"Entrust Your angels to guard it and banish from it every evil power.

"Grant that all who live in it may please You with their good works, and so receive from You, when their time comes, the reward of Your heavenly home.
We ask this through Christ, Our Lord, Amen."

The storms of life reveal the strength of our faith. Faith doesn't eliminate trials but it determines whether we fall or stand in the storm.

Simply Living

Lenten practice: In the spirit of Matthew 25, give away or throw away three or more unneeded things each week for the rest of Lent. Meditate on living more simply

Words Aside

Just being with God is good enough. No words are really necessary. After all, He knows what we need before we even ask.

Yes, a minute of meditation in any situation:

1. Your mission in life, why are you here;
2. To God's goodness, let us meditate
A) for the air that we breathe;
B)The water that we drink
C) The food that we eat- from the the farmer's seed, going all along to your plate on your table today, tomorrow and the rest of your life;
D) To Jesus our god, that inspite of our sinfulness, we are still alive and kicking, enjoying the bounties of his blessing.

To God, praise and Glory for his Wonderful Name-A Name above Every Name.

Plan Ahead

Look ahead to Lent's end and reserve the Triduum dates--Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Vigil--so that you will be available to watch and pray at your parish.

Bro. Lorenzo,

Blessing for Medicine -

(The Roman Ritual presents the prayer below to ask God's blessing on medicine. Many doctors testify that the prayer said over it eliminates collateral effects and makes it a more effective remedy.)

V:  Our help is in the name of the Lord.

R: Who made heaven and earth.

V: The Lord be with you.

R: And with your spirit.

Let Us Pray:

O our God! You marvelously created man and more marvelously redeemed him. Please help with Your numerous aids the human condition in the land of Your children who are always susceptible to diverse infirmities. Answer our prayers and bless these medicines (and medical instruments) so that everyone who uses them or is under their influence may enjoy the presence of Your providence in body and soul.

You who, through Your Son Jesus Christ, healed so many infirmities, and who reigns with Him and the Holy Spirit forever and ever.

Amen.

Have a Blessed day ! In God we trust .

Bread of Life

At the family meal serve some really good bread and talk about your heart’s desire. God is listening. God doesn’t want us to eat stone soup when bread gives life

Why Go To Church?

A Church goer wrote a letter to the editor of a newspaper and complained that it
made no sense to go to church every Sunday. "I've gone for 30 years now," he
wrote, "and in that time I have heard something like 3,000 sermons. But for the
life of me, I can't remember a single one of them. So, I think I'm wasting my
time and the pastors are wasting theirs by giving sermons at all."

This started a real controversy in the "Letters to the Editor" column, much to
the delight of the editor. It went on for weeks until someone wrote this
clincher:

"I've been married for 30 years now. In that time my wife has cooked some 32,000
meals. But, for the life of me, I cannot recall the entire menu for a single one
of those meals. But I do know this.. They all nourished me and gave me the
strength I needed to do my work. If my wife had not given me these meals, I
would be physically dead today. Likewise, if I had not gone to church for
nourishment, I would be spiritually dead today!" When you are DOWN to nothing...
God is UP to something! Faith sees the invisible, believes the incredible and
receives the impossible! Thank God for our physical AND our spiritual
nourishment!

All right, now that you're done reading, send it on! I think everyone should
read this! "When Satan is knocking at your door, simply say, "Jesus, could you
get that for me?"

Above Minimum

Jesus shows us to go beyond the minimum and do more than is required. Perhaps we could add a day of abstinence, up our Sunday tithe, work in a soup kitchen?

Prayer When Lighting A Votive Candle

O, Blessed Lord, and my blessed Mother Mary, accept this burning candle as a sign of my faith and love for Thee. Like a candle, I am ready to be used in your service without asking why and to what purpose. Like this candle, I wish to stand in Your presence to be consumed in the light and warmth of Your love. Please hear my prayer, and if it be Your Will, grant my petition. But above all, make me loyal and faithful to You, in all circumstances of my life. Amen.

Who do you “love the least” right now?  Let us spend this day praying for our least favorite person and the grace to love them with heavenly perfection.

'All Shall Be Well'

For the believer the glass is half full. Let’s take a moment to fill a glass half full of water and put it on the kitchen table with a note from St Julian of Norwich, which says, “All shall be well!”

Renewal of Baptismal Promises

It's very important to remember one's anniversary of baptism. The Church has given an opportunity to gain a plenary indulgence if one renews the baptismal promises on that day.

A partial indulgence is granted to the faithful, who renew their baptismal promises according to formula in use; but a plenary indulgence is granted, if this is done either in the celebration of the Paschal Vigil, or on the anniversary of one's baptism.

Encourage your entire family to renew their promises at least once a year on Easter Sunday.

I, N. N., who through the tender mercy of the Eternal Father was privileged to be baptized "in the name of the Lord Jesus" (Acts 19, 5) and thus to share in the dignity of his divine Sonship, wish now in the presence of this same loving Father and of his only-begotten Son to renew in all sincerity the promises I solemnly made at the time of my holy Baptism.

I, therefore, now do once again renounce Satan; I renounce all his works; I renounce all his allurements.

I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was born into this world and who suffered and died for my sins and rose again. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life everlasting.

Having been buried with Christ unto death and raised up with him unto a new life, I promise to live no longer for myself or for that world which is the enemy of God but for him who died for me and rose again, serving God, my heavenly Father, faithfully and unto death in the holy Catholic Church.

Taught by our Savior's command and formed by the word of God, I now dare to say:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Be Merciful

God wants us to be generous when we measure out a dose of mercy. Today, be merciful to someone who needs our forgiveness and compassion.

Every time we say the name of Mary in prayer, she turns to her Son and says "Jesus."  And, Oh,  how He loves to hear His Mother say His Name.

"Oh Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee."

Clean Up!

In the spirit of Isaiah, clean out a junk drawer, car trunk, toy box and while we clean, have a long talk with the Divine One concerning how we can clean up our lives.

We are invited to put on an apron of service as we try to imitate Jesus. Try to put other’s needs before your own throughout this day.

VIA DOLOROSA - WAY TO CALVARY

Lenten Blessings -

Quote of the Month:

“We should assist the poor in every way and do it both by ourselves and by enlisting the help of others. To do this is to preach the gospel by works and by word.”

Pray for Grace

Water your house plants today and pray for the grace to trust God with your health, your money, your children…whatever is heavy on your heart.

Building Block

Jesus wants to be the cornerstone, the primary building block, in our lives. Let us say a Morning Offering prayer--and mean it.

Spiritual Fruits of the Mysteries of the Holy Rosary

Each Mystery represents a particular virtue. Concentrate on the virtue associated with the Mystery and ask God's grace to achieve it.

Joyful Mysteries
1. The Annunciation - Humility
2. The Visitation - Love of Neighbor
3. The Birth of Christ - Poverty of Spirit (Detachment)
4. The Presentation in the Temple - Obedience

Open the Door

All of us have someone who is a black sheep in the family. Today, try to reconnect with that person. Let them know your door is always open.

It is precisely in times of spiritual dryness that we must hold on to our spiritual discipline so that we can grow into new intimacy with God.

Prayer of Simeon

Lord, now you let your servant go in peace. Your word has been fulfilled. My own eyes have seen the salvation which You have prepared in the sight of every people. A light to reveal You to the nations and the glory of Your people Israel. Amen.

Minute Meditations: A Quiet Spot in Your Busy Day!
Without acknowledging the Lord as our only God, the rest of the commandments rest on a shifting, flimsy base.

Gospel
Jn 2:13-25

Since the Passover of the Jews was near,
Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
He found in the temple area those who sold oxen, sheep, and doves,
as well as the money changers seated there.
He made a whip out of cords
and drove them all out of the temple area, with the sheep and oxen,
and spilled the coins of the money changers
and overturned their tables,
and to those who sold doves he said,
"Take these out of here,
and stop making my Father's house a marketplace."
His disciples recalled the words of Scripture,
Zeal for your house will consume me.
At this the Jews answered and said to him,
"What sign can you show us for doing this?"
Jesus answered and said to them,
"Destroy this temple and in three days I will raise it up."
The Jews said,
"This temple has been under construction for forty-six years,
and you will raise it up in three days?"
But he was speaking about the temple of his body.
Therefore, when he was raised from the dead,
his disciples remembered that he had said this,
and they came to believe the Scripture
and the word Jesus had spoken.

While he was in Jerusalem for the feast of Passover,
many began to believe in his name
when they saw the signs he was doing.
But Jesus would not trust himself to them because he knew them all,
and did not need anyone to testify about human nature.
He himself understood it well.

Lord God, I thank You today for the gift of my life,
and for the lives of all my brothers and sisters.

I know that life is always a good,
and that it never loses its value when it is beset by weakness or injury.

   Life is like a ladder.

Life is like a ladder. Every step we take is either up or down.

We make a ladder for ourselves out of our vices if we trample the vices themselves under foot.
— St. Augustine
