The victims as of this time are the passengers. They have to walk a long distance out of the port before they can see and hail a tricycle. It's very inconvenient especially when it rains or when the sun is too bright and hot to walk. Why does PPA has to punish the riding public. The riding public pays 12 pesos already at the entrance when they ride the boat. If they make the tricycle pay 12, they would just tell the passenger to shell out 12. In short, the passenger has to pay double entrance fee - 12 pesos at the port entrance and another 12 pesos before boarding the boat. That's too much. What are these people smoking.

I would say sorry for our old bus operators. They did not improve. In fact, Ceres applied for franchise a decade ago. They objected for the same reason. Ceres did not get the franchise because of their objection. Our old bus operators had all the chance to improve the quality of their service since that time. But they continue to operate junk units which were smoke belching, leave the terminal at their own time or when the bus is filled with passengers and overcharge passengers when they find it convenient and when the riding public have no other choice.

What the public want are safe units, units that depart and arrive on time, who pays good taxes (issue receipts to passengers) and responsive to the public demands for better service.

Let our old operators serve us the way we want, or the way Ceres is doing now, and the riding public will patronize with them.

Philippine Business News / Royal Palm Panglao
April 28, 2012, 04:50:14 PM
For the first time, Boholanos can now have a taste of living in an exclusive subdivision complete with basic amenities like swimming pool, gated guardhouse, big roads, club house, parks, security, perimeter fence and many others typical of high end subdivisions comparable to those in Cebu and Manila.

Last Thursday, Royal Palms Panglao, a subdivision developed by Primaryhomes Inc. in Cebu, opened it's gate to welcome guests and the general public to view their six model houses, so that the public can see, feel and experience what it is to  be in the high end community. Indeed, a lot of curious crowds and interested clients came and usher to the extraordinary event which was full of fanfare, nice foods, big names as invited guests and enjoy the entertainment brought about by celebrities and artists from Cebu. The event was started with a mass held by Fr. Victor Bompat, followed the blessing of the new model houses.

Awed by the beauty of the houses, amenities and the environment, six clients decided to buy units on the spot and made deposit payments for the house models and lot they chose. This only disproves the claim that Bol-anons are not easy to convince by marketers to buy assets like a house and lot. Our folks have realistically come of age as far as placing their savings on assets, than on liabilities.

Royal Palms Panglao is the first in Bohol and in Dauis as an exclusive and resort-type subdivision. So far, its quality and what it can offer cannot be found in Bohol yet, and not until a year or two from now. Primaryhomes pioneered this kind of project and soon other developers may follow to cater to the changing taste and needs of Bol-anons as far convenient and high end housing project is concerned.

A big percentage of the units had already been sold during the pre-selling period and during the model house launching. There are still a lot of house and lots available which are in strategic locations, like corner lots. To avail and take advantage of this opportunity, it is wise to make a decision now.

By the way, six days from today, prices will increase by 3% and down payment terms will change from 24 months to 18 months. There is still enough time to beat this deadline for those who may be interested.

To visit and view the houses at Royal Palms Panglao, you can call vir at 0921 764 4414 or 412 2748 so he can arrange a trip ticket to the site. Only visitors with trip tickets will have full access to the housing model units.

Bay, I have four meanings to this word, as follows:

1) glean for valuable information
2) find out
3) scavenge for leftovers
4) make a fishing expedition

you are right with your interpretation as it is one of the meanings I have for the word. I just assume it is also about fishing expedition as it has relevance in meaning. thanks

Bay, My publisher has exclusive right to distribute the book most specifically to the National Bookstore. I will announce in this forum when the book is finally released. NB has nationwide branches hence it would not be difficult to get a copy. Thanks for the interest.

Bisaya Cebuano Language / Re: Second Class Language?
September 17, 2010, 10:23:34 AM
Finally, my Binisaya (Cebuano/Bol-anon) - English dictionary is going to the printing press for publication. It is composed of more than 25,000 words, idioms, colloquials and phrases native to Cebu, Bohol and other Binisaya speaking provinces. It may come out soon in two months. This is my greatest contribution to the perpetuation, growth, modernization and preservation of our language. What is more interesting is it is probably the first dictionary where the Bol-anon version of Binisaya is recognize. All words with "J" and all words used only by Bol-anons are included.
Would welcome any feedback as soon as the book hits the National Bookstore shelves.
Thanks to Tubagbohol. Some of the words included were gleaned from our or your conversations.

This is not only a lesson but a warning. There are many big corporations who continue to violate labor laws by paying them below minimum wage set by the labor law and make their employees sign two payrolls. Even in the arrastre sector, majority of the laborers are paid as low as 100 a day. This set up should now be stopped. Protecting the businesses for the decades did not bring any help. It only worsens the situation. In fact, this is one reason why our kababayans have to leave the country and their family.

Wah koy gimanok. My comments is for everybody. Can anyone tell us of any congressman, mayor, governor, mga vice mayor or consihalis nga wah mo-asinso bisag gamay ra ang sweldo.
#11
Out of 10 family political dynasties naa lang seguroy usa nga maayo. And it may be accidental only. We have already the worst crime committed by political dynasty as exemplified by the Ampatuans. In Bohol, there is no family political dynasty which can be rated as worth emulating or appreciating. They all end up in corruption, perpetuation of corruption, wallowing in corruption, and generation of more corruption among their supporters and followers.
#12
Pareho man ni sila tanan puro mga kurap. Walay less or more corrupt. Puro corrupt as in corrupt gyod.

Kanang uban diha klaro kaayong trapo.

To be frank, I don't like these trapos. What I detest most is their double-standards which is very much lopsided in favor of the rich. One such trapo has this tendency to help all the poor that go to him and also the rich who need his help. How many cases in court especially in the Sandigan Bayan and Court of Appeals that had been compromised to favor somebody through secret and corrupt arrangements. I know of one treasurer who had malversed money entrusted to him and was found guilty but his case was dismissed on appeal through the help of one old trapo. I can hardly believe this act of help the corrupt and thief to the prejudice of the municipality where this guy stole money.

Whatever happens to the more than 100m funds lost in a big irrigation project in Talibon. By maneuvering with courts or investigators, the case just disappeared by asking for new funds to finish the project.

Let's give others a chance, those who have better outlook for the people than for their own interest.

Deliberate man ning pag-usab sa ending portion sa national anthem. they cannot claim ignorance for doing it. it was done in all past Pacquiao fight. The NHI called their attention and still the law continues to be violated. If nobody really wants to respect the law, it can be repealed in congress or senate, and anybody can do anything to change our national anthem to suit to any occasion. Mahilig lang gyod magpasikat. One time, the lady singer sang out of tune because her voice capacity was too low for the pitch she wanted to reach. it was embarrassing for the pinoy crowd.

How true is the story that Noynoy is mentally challenged? Other reasons why I doubt Noynoy is his lack of leadership experience. The fact that he remains single is he must be afraid to propose to a woman. Most of his girl friends were introduced or matched to him. Hence, this is a red flag in his having no courage to make bold decisions. The presidency is too big a challenge for him. Even in the senate, he could not preside a committee meeting. He has not been a leader of any organization. In short, he is zero as far as leadership is concerned. And leadership is very important. Otherwise, unscrupulous subalterns might take advantage of his weakness and we may wake up our country being managed by non-duly elected decision makers. Si Gibo na lang o di ba si Gordon

This is what our kababayans should learn. Many have complete and functioning body organs yet they are helpless, hopeless, jobless and weak. Many rely on support from others while others prefer to beg. It's a shame that while God gave us all the blessings and gifts yet many of us have remained poor and dependent.

Murag sakto na lang ning "ambot sa langaw" kay medyo there is some sense. It means he is completely ignorant or has nothing to say. Pero pag sumpayan pa og "pilay edad sa ok-ok", he will be giving signs that something is wrong with his reasoning or probably he is not in the mood. but this is a good point and appreciate it.

The story as related is not quite accurate. There is another angle which is not covered. It's about drugs. The death of the victim was so brutal that it could have been perpetuated only by people high on drugs. I have heard that there is somebody by the same family name who is known to be big drug dealer but could not be stopped because of connection with the higher ups. When warrants are issued and for serving, the suspect is always out because he gets info by text that the police is on the way to arrest the suspect. I believe there should be a deeper investigation since people living in the area are scared. They feel hopeless since even if they cooperate, they know the suspects have connections in the higher ups.

Hubag Bohol,

I went back to my source, and this is what I found out:

ang "ngabil" di-ay "outer part of the lip"
ang "wa-it" is "inner part of the lip"

Sorry gyod and thanks for your feedback.

Tarz
#31
Hubag Bohol,

The fact that there is ngabil and wa-it only means they have distinct meanings. This is not my creation, it's from my research. In English, there is upper lip and lower lip. It would help if we can find more meaningful description or significance of both words.

The integration of new words is a matter of practice and wider acceptance. Some people create their own and the words that are frequently used becomes permanent. If we study the various words in our language there are many which are really difficult to justify. What are most justifiable should have been those closely related or sounds close to its intended meaning.

Since the older generation are already accustomed to their language, they are less open to new words or vocabularies. Whereas, the youth would be easier to educate if given the proper training and materials.

Thanks,

Tarz
#32
Hubag Bohol,

The Bisayan language today has been eroded because of lack of maintenance. As new words in other language comes, we just borrow them instead of creating the equivalent.

I believe there is no need to distinguish the language of the old and new generation. We just restore and enhance what we used to have and improve it. The trend today is those kids of OFWs and the well-off want their kids to be English-speaking as early as they can. This is one form of killing and forgetting slowly our own language. I guess they should master first their native tongue and take other languages later. They will learn other languages better if they are good in their own native which should be used in teaching other languages. As we notice today, teachers use Tagalog or English to teach English. It's too cumbersome for them.
#33
hubag bohol,

ang upper lip = wait, lower lip = ngabil

mag integrate na sa atong pinulongan through the younger generation. bakikaw na para sa mga present and older generation.

thanks

Hubag Bohol,

Okay raman ang “pahuwas”.  It is also about release of pressure. Pero sa akong tan-aw, it is more applicable to emotional rather than physical pressure like “pahuwas sa kasuko” or “pahuwas kadiyot human sa kaon” instead of pahuway. Pahuway is to rest from work. Kihanglang ma-modernize gamay atong terminology bahin ani. Uwaw man kong tua ta sa ICM unya mangotana og “asa man inyong kalibangan o kasilyas.” Sa mga middle-class, CR or rest room ang gigamit nila, pero these are not Bisayan terms. Lawak pahuwasan o lawak pahiyusan, medyo okay ra.

Thanks for the feedback.

kining "lawas ditinabunan - naked," this was part of the poem of Carlos P. Garcia. If we read his poems, we can pick many meaningful words which can be integrated and made part of our regular language.

Hubag Bohol,

My understanding of "hiyus" is to relieve. It can also mean "deflate" like deflating a tire. The comfort room is a place to relieve ourselves of physical discomfort. Mao nga I coined this word "lawak pahiyusan." thanks

Raquel,

Mao lagi. Maayo gyud unta kong may mga binisaya nga libro for kids.

Glacier,

Available man sa internet ang ka John Wolff nga diksyonaryo, Vol. I and II. Salamat.

Bambi,

There is an English-Visaya and Visaya-English dictionary authored by Ben Garcia sold at the National Bookstore. Also, the book of Cabonce (English-Visaya) is available at the same store. I believe you can order them via internet since the National Bookstore operates also like eBay, just in case you are overseas.

Benelynne,

Dili man god kapanapian ug kasaligan sa panginabuhi.

Wala pod si Cabonce litrang “j”, nga diri sa Bohol daghan man og “j” ang among kapulongan. Di mi makasulti og tarong kong walay “j”.

Salamat,

benelynne,

I saw that Binisaya is not growing. It is shrinking by keep borrowing from English and other languages. The dictionaries available in bookstores are old and there are so many new words being used verbally which are not documented and captured. Whereas, there are a lot of Tagalog dictionaries. I feel bad to see the bookstores bookshelves are full of Tagalog dictionaries and there is practically none for Binisaya. There is an urgent need to upgrade, update or enhance the vocabularies and capture them into a better version of existing dictionaries. We should not allow this language to die or be buried by other languages. Next year, the DECS is going implement the directive to use native language as medium of instructions from prep until grade three. I wonder how our teachers will do it when there are no available materials, like dictionaries or Bisayan teaching books. Coming up with new dictionaries might be of help. Pursuing this project will be my legacy and contribution, if only to preserve our culture, language and help the young learn better their lessons using their native tongue. go luck also to your project. hoping too to be engaging in joint projects related to Binisaya language. thanks.

I am comparing some of your fruits and trees words for possible inclusion in my lists, if I don't have some of them. Actually, I am collecting as many words as I can. I am organizing a Binisaya-English dictionary for almost a year now. So far, I have collected more the 22k words, phrases and idioms. Probably, by January, I will be ready with the manuscript. I am posting some of the collections for sharing, feedback, corrections, comments, if there are any.

Si Noynoy mahadlok gani mo splikar og babae. So his courage is a big question. Wala pod siyay experience sa leadership. He has no history of being a head of any organization. Bisan sa senado, he has not presided a committee hearing. His leadership skills is ready a big question. Daghan ra bang gahig pod ug ulo sa ilang partido. He may not be able to control his own folks

Many business or rich folks are said to have been successful with "laway lang puhunan." If that is the case this 150k would surely be a big difference. Some of the good business to handle today is:

1. the buy and sell of farm produce like banana, eggplants, butung, root crops and other agri products. With the 150k, you can set aside 100k to buy a multicab and the 50k as working capital to buy agri products. The mark-up is usually 40% to 50%. Deduct spoilage of say 15% and operating expenses of 20%, there is still 5% to 15% net. If this net is earned in a week, multiply the 5% to 15% by 52 weeks and that is how your capital grows.

2. buy and sell also of fish from the fish port and deliver them to the towns and population center is another good option. actually, it's the middlemen who makes more money than the fishermen. the mark-up is more than 100%. unsold fish can be dried up and sold as dried fish. so there is no loss to talk about.

3. sell of cellphone loads is messy and requires a lot of work, but it is very profitable. if you purchase 500 worth of load for re-sale, it can earn 70p. just imagine if your 500 is turned over 3 times a week, you will make 210. multiply that by 52 weeks and in one year your 500 will grow to 10,920. If you have, 150k, you can divide it by 5,000 to arrive at 30 persons to consign with at least two cellphones (maybe 2k per cp) and working capital of 1000 cash. Each consignee may be given a share of say 50/50, and each can make 1,500k net per month that will an income of 750p a month for your 5,000k investment. multiply that by 12 that's 9,200 a year per 5k capital or a total of 270,000 return for you 150k capital. the challenge however is big since there will be risk of being cheated by dishonest consignees or the possibility of running away with your cp and cash. but if you are diligent and creative, there is always a way to make the business successful. what you are after for at all is for your money to grow.

Mao lagi. Si Binisaya wala pay ultimate guidelines and authority to observe. thanks
#50
Segun sa akong nahibaloan ug nabasahan. (See book of C.S. Canonigo, 1999 reprint, English-Cebuano booklet, page 197)

Ang U is used before B,M,P,K,G,L,D,S,T & Y as in kubkub, sumsum, lumlum, etc. Another rule for U is it is always used in the first syllable of every word.
Ang O is used before NG, N as in bongbong, lonlon.

Ang E ug I are interchangeable but it is more Bisaya to use I than E like in Bisaya instead of Besaya, as in dili instead of deli, or kini instead of keni. It is however too boring to read or see all I in one word as in Biyirnis instead of Biyernes. I believe in the use of I and E, the user has wide discretion. If he is a wide Binisaya reader, he knows what is best.

thanks

Public school teachers in the elem and high school are receiving salaries between 10 to 15k a month. For private elem/high schools, it is less than 10k. For college, it is on a per unit basis and number of loads given. I have no definite figure, but as I said most colleges have high degree of attrition for teachers such that salary increases resulting from tuition fee increases benefit only those who stay. But salary increases intended for those who resigned or moved out become savings for the school since new teachers hired get a much lower starting salary.

In effect, students are paying higher tuitions yet they get less quality education due to less experienced (new graduates) teachers hired. Less quality of education translate into less quality graduates. Less quality graduates become target of exploitation by local firms. Ask those college grad mall workers. They are only getting one-half of legal minimum wage, sans SSS, Philhealth and are laid off after six months only to be replaced by same kind of applicants. They are made to work overtime but not paid overtime wages.

This is one of the causes why our kababayans have to go overseas. Their income can hardly support themselves, much more if they already have a family. This is corruption of highest order. The employee is robbed half his salary everyday for 360 days a year. Multiply this by the number of employees being robbed and we have a grand larceny taking place everyday without everybody being aware of it. Wealth is moving from pockets of many to the pockets of a few in high speed fashion.

This is a vicious cycle that should be broken and it requires brave leaders who can fight for just and fair treatment of workers. Poverty becomes unavoidable evil because everybody accepts this situation.
#53
This is not the fault of the peso. It is the fault of the dollar. The value of the dollar overseas keeps deteriorating. It is disadvantageous now if one's income is in dollar. You exchange your dollar to Euro or other currencies and the effect is the same exchanging it with peso.
#54
Most of our schools are profit oriented. They produce half-baked graduates for export. Basta may diploma ug transcript, okay na. He/she can take care of getting skills and working knowledge pag may trabajo na. Everytime these schools are allowed tuition fee increases, the additional income usually goes to more perks to the owners and little amount for teachers and school facilities. The rest goes go profit. These schools really make big profits because as we can see they can afford to build more branches in the towns. Since most of the teachers resign and go overseas or somewhere else, the salary increase corresponding that teacher becomes the schools savings. The more the school saves when it hires a new teacher at a low starting salary. The turn over of teachers or the rate of attrition is so fast that Dep Ed failed to realize that these school don't need increase of tuition since their payroll remains stagnant, if not going down.

Inspiration & Hope / Re: Get a purpose
February 29, 2008, 11:17:35 AM
Sad to say, only a few feel they have a purpose in their lives. They have no plans and direction. Their destiny is "whatever will be, will be." Precisely, this is the reason why many are wallowing in poverty and misery. They have no plans of solving their problems and making lives better. Sometimes, they are happy, sometimes sad. When special occasions come, like election, fiesta and holidays, life is merrier and they enjoy it as if there is no more tomorrow. When misery comes, they let others solve their problems. There are many people anyway who are willing to do it for them.

And so we have many kababayans who are too dependent and virtually mendicants. It has become a social illness with no known cure.

During this time, many people want a change in government because perennial problems continue to exist. It's season again to tear down government and build a new one. The problem however is they will be changing personalities only and not the system, which is the real cause

The loss of the value of the OFW income is not the fault of the Phil. government. It's the fault of the US economy. Try to convert the dollar to other foreign currency, the result is the same. You will loss value.

The strenghtening of the peso will be good for the country. It's foreign debts will be reduced. Inflation will remain low, now at 2.5%, which means low pressure on purchasing power. The more the country is able to reduce its debt, the more savings will be available for public services. A strong peso also help mitigate the effects of a rising oil price. Had the dollar remained at over 50 pesos, the price of gasoline today would have been more than 55 per liter.

What makes man poor is his mind who is used to thinking of poor ideas. A poor mind and idea beget poor result. The rich are rich because they have rich ideas, habits and attitudes. Men were all created equal. Every is given natural gifts, talents, brains and faculties which are more than sufficient to be used in solving basic problems. The problem of poverty is not a complex one. It's only a matter of solving basic needs like food, shelter, clothing, health and education. If the birds and bees can solve basic needs like food, why not man cannot provide for himself?

The next thing to do now is identify those who made money. Who benefited from the ghost dam project. Who got/receive the 10% SOP. Who received the kickbacks. It's impossible nobody got any. In fact, the gov and a congressman had already been identified as recepient of SUVs, when in their own offices they already have many vehicles at their disposal. Corruption is disease worst than AIDS. Something has to be done because more and more people are dying of hunger and illness and yet more people are sucking blood from the poor folks. Personally, only politicians and big businessmen are beneficiaries from these projects. The big business establishments are capturing the rice produce of farmers through 5/6 schemes perpetrated by agents of big businessmen in Bohol. Marginal farmers don't have capital and resource hence they become victim of userers. On the other hand, politicians get kickbacks both from businesses and contractors. The poor folks end up beaten and receiving end of economic maladies like inflation, unemployment, hunger and lack of education of their children.

"Kolera" expression started or prevalent in the areas of Guindulman. Naa pa gani silay expression nga "tujaw" One time a fish vendor sold fish to the nuns in St. Mary. The nun asked for big discount. The vendor replied "tujaw, ka mader, maajo pa ning isda ug buhi-an."

The St. Jude transpo has never improved. They only replace old units with surplus units which are heavy smoke belchers. Their departure and travel time is still much less efficient. They have no express units who should only stop on certain points instead of stopping at any point at any time.

If not for the good roads today, travel via St. Jude would be excruciating.

Weird and Extreme / Re: Weird sign

Re Trespassing. Mao dakong problema sa ato. People have no respect for properties of others. This bad practice/habit is expensive and discouraging. Angay unta ang value sa respect ug self-respect i-emphasize during formative years kay without these values we will eventually become a no-mans land. It will something like what's yours is ours. What is mine can no longe be mine for eventually it will be taken away by others.

Introduce Yourself / Re: Do You Eat "Bejabas"?
August 12, 2007, 08:51:42 AM
Ang bijabas makapa os-os sa blood pressure. During old times, when one has fresh wound, grown bijabas leaves are applied in order to stop bleeding. It must have qualities that are good or applicable to blood system.

Pero karon pavorito na ang maong isda bisan sa mga taga visayas. migration has taught us many things like eating tilapia, goat meat, non-popular foods and vegies, etc.

Calape - Bohol / Re: Something about Calape, Bohol

Di ba taga Calape man si Yoyoy? How come he was not given honor when he died when he brought honor good name to his town. It would seem he died a despised man. He was punished for his small mistakes and never recognized for his great deeds and achievements. This is what I can see of Calape folks.

He is the origin of all our headaches and sins today. He borrowed $25 billion and we are being made to pay it today and probably the next many generations. Paying this debt plus interest have become a monkey on our back. It is one reason why our kababayans have to leave the country look for better pastures overseas. It is a complex process such that many of us are blaming the wrong person. During his time, he turned our teachers, comelec and all small officials into election cheaters. He turned our police and military as his goons. In short, he destroyed whatever good values our teachers and military had. Nobody respects now our teachers, police and soldiers. These are loses and damages which can no longer be restored. Trust and confidence are like eggs. Once they are broken, every thing is gone. Yet until today, we seem to have not learned anything. If we don't decide to change individually, there may be no more hope for the Philippines.

Wah pa gani madalaga gui-harvest na..hehehhee.. patawa lang.. but in reality that's what I perceive. Anywhere, we can see many pinays/boholanas clinging to the arms of old foreigners. these were not ordinary daily images we see in the streets years ago. the internet cafes equipped with cams are full of chatters which now serve as bridge to outside world and eventually become instrument to fruition of illegal, legal or other forms of union

Poor BIR. It can only collect good taxes from small tax payers. Naay daghang dagkong negosyanting angay cobrahan ug buhis. Matod pa sa IMF, for every peso tax due, 40 centavos is kept by the tax evaders only 60 centavos goes to the BIR. I don't think Boom-Boom is one of the evaders. He has only started to make money. The BIR should spend more time and resources in chasing the big busiensses who are certainly the tax evaders, some are rice smugglers, labor exploiters (who pay their workers 120 or less when the minimum is 200+), who keep two sets of books (one for the BIR and one for their personal use). These businessmen have advanced, modern and sophisticated offices and high tech business environment. From my personal observations, the big establishments are actually engaging also in 5/6 financing. They provide capital to middlemen who capture rice harvest of farmers. They extend credit to customers by charging 10% to the goods which is shared by the owner (5%) and agent (5%), which interest charge is on top of hefty profits buried in the goods they sell on credit.

These are proof of a prosperous business activities which a corrupt, ignorant and stupid BIR man can hardly appreciate.

The overseas pinoys serve only as indirect perpetrators of tax evasion and labor exploitation by patronizing the big business establishment. They are the ones who give life to all business establishments - the good or bad ones.

World Daily News / Re: Priest Murdered His Own Son
August 12, 2007, 08:00:32 AM
In Mexico, the priest kills his own son.

In the Philippines, the priest migrates to the US. That's why we have plenty of pinoy priests in the US and Canada, when they should have been here for it is here where we need them most.

There is rampant violation of labor laws in the Philippines, that's why pinoys have no choice but go overseas. Look at the big establishments in Bohol who should have been model employers. They are only paying their workers less than 150 a day when the minimum is more than 250. they don't pay their workers overtime, SSS/Philhealth premiums and worst they lay off their workers after six months. There is practically a crisis of morals among our businessmen and employers.

How about going into business? There is also no chance for OFWs to succeed since most business lines are monopolized by established businesses. Besides, it is difficult to succeed in business if one has no guts to violate laws on taxation, labor, environmental laws, etc. There is virtually no successful business in RP or Bohol where the owner can claim that he honestly / rightfully earned his profits, assets and wealth. He/she became rich because he exploited his workers, evaded paying the right tax or follow good business practices and ethics. Most of our laws were made to be broken/violated because they have no teeth.

It's a shame. Yoyoy came only from a very humble beginning but with determination he succeeded in life.
