As an OFW, sometimes, I encounter people who hates me for being able to provide for my family. I get it. Some are jealous but what can i do? But now, I think it has gone too far... this did not happen to me lately but this started  year 2005, the first month I arrived in China. Somebody would just send hate messages to me and the worst part is that, its not about me but about my husband, whom i know is very faithful, loving etc. One time, somebody sent this hate message telling me that my hubby was in this bar, very much drunk and with another girl but the funny thing was that, at that exact moment, I was chatting with him and our kids. This kept on and on until now and i just ignored it.
Now, it seems that this idiot is really trying his/her best to destroy my marriage so now it's the other way around. This time, he/she sends hate messages to my hubby telling him things about ME that are so awful and cheap. My hubby is also ignoring this for he knows it's just somebody who likes to make other people unhappy.
Now my question: IF YOU ARE IN MY SHOES, WHAT WILL YOU DO?

Six people have been sentenced to death for their part in the murderous riots in Urumqi, capital of the Xinjing Uygur autonomous region, that took the lives of 197 people on July 5.

The six learned they face execution at the Intermediate People's Court of Urumqi. It was a first-instance trial and there will be an opportunity to appeal the sentences.

The penalties were meted out to Abdukerim Abduwayit, Gheni Yusup, Abdulla Mettohti, Adil Rozi, Nureli Wuxiu'er and Alim Metyusup.

A seventh person was also on trial. The court gave Tayirejan Abulimit life imprisonment after he admitted murder and robbery. The court acknowledged that he helped police capture Alim Metyusup.

There was a strong special armed police presence outside the court, with officers spaced at five-meter intervals, when the sentences were handed down. The city, meanwhile, is being patrolled around the clock by 14,000 security personnel, according to the official Urumqi Online.

The defendants went on trial in three separate courtrooms at 10 am. More than 400 people, including the suspects' relatives, witnessed the proceedings, which were carried out in the Uygur language with simultaneous translation into Mandarin.

China Daily was present at the hearing in No 3 courtroom, where Abdukerim Abduwayit received the death penalty for intentional homicide and arson. He was the first person to be sentenced in connection with the July 5 riots.

Abduwayit was found guilty of stabbing five people to death on the city's Tuanjie Road and of burning down a building, which caused several injuries.

Two of his five victims were under the age of 18, China Daily learned.

Without denying the prosecutor's allegations, Abduwayit asked the court for "a second chance".

Pictures of his victims and the locations they were killed were shown to the court. Many watching proceedings were overcome with emotion as video footage was shown of Abduwayit brutally beating and stabbing one of his victims.

In another case, Gheni Yusup led Abdulla Mettohti, Adil Rozi and Nureli Wuxiu'er in the beating deaths of four people and in injuring another. Mettohti was also among a mob that set ablaze a grain and oil shop, killing five people hiding inside and causing an economic loss of 1.37 million yuan ($201,000).

In a third case, Alim Metyusup and Tayirejan Abulimit together killed three people and seriously injured another. They also robbed their victims of their mobile phones.

In addition, Alim Metyusup joined mobs in the killing of two more people and in the torching of homes.

Urumqi residents were quick to welcome the sentences, many saying they were just.

"They deserve the sentences they received and it is what the public desired," said Cui Chunyu, a local telecom worker. "The prosecutors collected a large amount of evidence, which made the final results convincing. I saw justice done today."

Nurmemet Aps, an Imam at a local mosque, agreed.

"I am happy to have seen a fair trial today," he said. "People should learn that no one, regardless of their religion, can get away with crimes under the law."

Forty-year-old Urumqi resident Wang Li said the community had waited patiently for the first trials.

"Everybody was looking forward to the hearings," she said. "We want to see those criminals punished for what they did. I think the sentences are very appropriate."

Earlier reports said accusations had been brought against 108 suspects thought to have been involved in the July 5 riots, which left 1,700 people injured in addition to the 197 who were killed.

A total of 21 suspects face charges of homicide, arson and robbery. The remaining 14 will be tried in the near future.

All defendants have the right to appeal but the verdict at their second trial will be deemed final, according to Chinese law.

Love Talk / How To Impress Your Date On A Dime
October 03, 2009, 05:56:00 PM
1.  Stay In
Sure going to the movies is funâ€"who doesn't like paying $4 for a Snickers bar and $7.50 for a soda? Instead, save the money, buy some movie-sized treats at the grocery store and spend the evening in. You can pick up a movie through a RedBox location for only $1, at most Blockbuster stores for $2 daily, or watch a show you've already taped to DVR or TiVO.

2.  Cook Up Some Romance
If you're going out to a concert or a sporting event, cook dinner together at home. This will save the money you would have spent in a restaurant and, rather than waiting for a table, you can spend the time impressing your date with your cooking skills (or laughing about your lack thereof).

3.  Pack a Picnic
Cut the cost of any date by bringing your meal. Many outdoor amphitheaters will even let you bring a picnic basket or cooler, so take advantage and avoid spending on overpriced mediocre meals.

4.  Break the Rules
If you'd like to take your date out to eat think early. Lunch is always cheaper than dinnerâ€"and breakfast trumps them all.

5.  Love and Learn
Check out the schedule for classes offered through your local recreation center, gym or arts studio and find one you'd enjoy taking together. When you break the cost down per date, it's often very affordable, and a fun way to build a relationship while you're building some skills (or laughing at each other while you're trying)!

6.  Volunteer Your Valentine
If the point of a date is being together, why not do some good while you're at it? Look for volunteer opportunities to serve meals at a local soup kitchen or homeless shelter, walk dogs at the local shelter, stock shelves at a food pantry, or whatever cause tugs on your heart.

7.  Enjoy an Afternoon Delight
If you just can't wait for the movie to come out on DVD, save a few dollars on tickets by seeing the early show.

8.  Shop Smart
Warehouse club stores like Sam's Club, BJ's and Costco often sell reduced-rate gift certificates and coupons for local restaurants, golf courses, spas and more. Find discounts at SmartCircle.com and half-price gift certificates at local eateries on Restaurant.com.

9.  Get Progressive
Instead of footing the bill for an entire evening out, invite friends to do a "progressive" party, where guests go from house to house enjoying an appetizer, entrée or desert. You'll have fun and save money by splitting the costs.

10. Scout It Out
Spending a day cruising garage sales, swap meets and flea markets can be a cheap way to stumble across some great vintage finds - you'll probably share a few good laughs as well.

Saint Anne - she is the reason why my name is Anna... her name can both be found in the Holy Bible and the Holy Qu'ran....

Saint Anne (also Ann or Anna, from Hebrew Hannah ×—Ö·× Ö¸Ö¼×" or Channah‎, meaning "favor" or "grace.") of David's house and line, was the mother of the Virgin Mary, according to Christian and Islamic tradition. Her name Anne is the Greek rendering of the Hebrew name Hannah. Mary's mother is not named in the canonical Gospels and Qu'ran.

one thing that i have learned from the westerners.. stop picking on your nose!....but in China (in the south where i am based), if you are invited for a dinner in the restaurant, the guests should be noisy (talk, talk, talk)...i couldn't understand it at first but later on, my friend told me that we should be noisy so that other people surrounding us would feel envious beacuse we are having a good time and that the host should be proud of it...

MOONCAKE FESTIVAL

The Legend Behind
At a time before the world knew what science was, there were many beliefs regarding the moon. It is said that if one were to gaze at the moon at its brightest, he will be reduced to insanity by the lunar power. At another period of time, people were known to worship the moon. It is called animism, where natural objects and living things were revered like gods. Today, gruesome stories of some human breaking out hideously into werewolves upon full moon, make movie blockbusters. Indeed, the moon has long held the fascination of man.

In Malaysia, the Chinese celebrate the Mooncake Festival (known as Mid-Autumn Festival in China) in honour of the moon. They believe that the moon symbolises the fullness of life, thus, on the day it shines brightest, thanksgiving prayers are offered.

Below are some well-known legends of the Moon passed down through generations in Chinese history.

The Moon Princess
The story is set around the Tang Dynasty (circa 618 AD). It is said that the Earth once had 10 Suns circling around it, and each took turns illuminating the Earth. However, one day, all 10 Suns appeared together and naturally, the Earth got too hot.

Into the picture comes a tyrannical archer Hou Yi, who succeeds in shooting down nien of the Suns with his bow and arrow.

He then steals the elixir of life from the Goddess of Western Heaven but his wife, Chang Er, drinks it in a bid to save the world from her husband. After drinking it, she is seen floating away to the Moon. Hou Yi is unable to shoot down the Moon due to his love for his wife. It is said the Chang Er can be seen at her most beautiful on the night of the brightest harvest moon, which is the 15th day of the eighth lunar month.

The Rabbit
In this famous legend, three fairies transformed themselves into poor old men and begged for alms from a fox, a monkey and a rabbit. The fox and monkey shared what they had but the rabbit, who had nothing, willingly offered his own flesh. He then proceeded to jump into the fire to roast himself. The old men were so touched, they restored the rabbit and let him live in the Moon Palace where he is now known to as the Jade Rabbit.

The Mooncake
The origin of Mid-Autumn Festival dates back many centuries, in ancient China. Through the passage of time, many colourful tales about the origin have evolved. One popular legend, passed down from grandmothers to children and retold each year, evolves around the overthrow of the Mongol rulers in China.

During the Yuan Dynasty (1280-1366AD), China was ruled by tyrannical Mongol overlords. Leaders of the uprising against the Mongols were unhappy with the foreign rule and set about to start a rebellion. Knowing that the moon festival was near, they ordered the making of special cakes which carried the secret message of uprising inside. On the night of the moon festival, the rebels successfully attacked and toppled the Mongolians and established the Ming Dynasty. Hence, mooncakes are made during the Mid Autumn Moon festival to commemorate the uprising. The Mooncake Festival, is celebrated on the fifteenth day of the eighth lunar month [see calender] with much gaiety in Malaysia by Taoist Chinese. It is the time of the year you see children traipsing around the neighbourhood, parading paper lanterns of many colours and shapes. Their elders, meanwhile, place offerings on altars which are set facing the moon. Often there will be a gathering among relatives in the garden, as they chat among themselves while revelling in the radiance of the full moon.

Delectable mooncakes of various flavours make their appearance in shops and restaurants weeks before the festival. These brown delicacies used to be made solely of sweetened wheat flour, but nowadays come in avariety of fillings and flavours. The main ones are tau-sha (black-bean paste), lien-yung (lotus paste) and kam tui (golden trotter). Sometimes, salted egg yolk is stuffed inside the mooncake for added flavour.

General Topic / Mid -Autumn Festival
September 30, 2009, 05:43:44 PM
Held on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month, the Mid-Autumn Festival is the second grandest festival after the Spring Festival in China. The festival takes its name from the fact that it is always celebrated in the middle of the autumn season. The Festival is also known as the Moon Festival, as at that time of the year the moon is at its roundest. On this day, family members gather to appreciate the bright full moon, eat moon cakes at night, express strong yearnings toward their homes and think of family members who live far away.

Legend about the Festival:

The story of Chang Er is the most widely accepted tale regarding the origins of the Mid-Autumn Festival. It is said that in ancient times, ten suns existed and the extreme heat made people's lives very difficult. It was the hero Hou Yi who, owing to his great strength, shot down the nine of the ten suns. On hearing of this amazing feat and the hero who performed it, people came from far and wide to learn from him. Peng Meng was among these people. Later, Hou Yi married a beautiful and kind woman named Chang Er and lived a happy life.

One day, Hou Yi came upon Wangmu (the queen of heaven) on the way to meet his old friend. Wangmu presented him an elixir which, if drunk, would cause him to ascend immediately to heaven and become an immortal. Instead of drinking the potion himself, Hou Yi took it home and presented it to Chang Er to keep. Unfortunately, Peng Meng secretly saw Hou Yi give the potion to his wife and three days later, while Hou Yi was out hunting, Peng Meng rushed into the backyard and demanded that Chang Er hand over the elixir. Knowing that she could not win, she took out the elixir and swallowed it immediately. The moment she drank it, she flew out of the window and up into the sky. Chang Er's great love for her husband drew her towards the Moon, which is the nearest heavenly body to the earth.

On realising what happened to his wife, Hou Yi was so grief stricken that he shouted Chang Er' s name to the sky. He was amazed to see a figure which looked just like his wife appeared in the Moon. He took the food liked by Chang Er to an altar and offered it as a sacrifice for her. Hou Yi's neighbours also burned incense and prepared food to express their good wishes to the kind Chang Er. This became a custom later every year.

Customs:

Different customs have evolved in different areas regarding the Mid-Autumn Festival. The most significant customs are to appreciate and offer sacrifice to the round bright moon and eat moon cakes. Other activities like dragon dancing and doing obeisance to the moon are also considered highly important.

Appreciating and Offering Sacrifice to the Moonlight:

Since ancient times, Chinese emperors offered sacrifices to the sun in the spring and the moon in autumn. Especially in the Zhou Dynasty (11th century BC - 221 BC), the big incense burn table was arranged and all kinds of food were offered in sacrifice that day. However, appreciating the moon became more popular in the Tang (618 - 907) and Song Dynasties (960 - 1279). Many famous poems for praising the moon on the night of the festival were created during those periods. In the Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644), the Moon Altar was built for the purpose of sacrifice to the moon on the Mid-Autumn Festival.

Today, sacrifice has been replaced by a simple appreciation of the moon. Members of a family usually sit around a table eating and talking to their heart content and at the same time admiring the bright moon. While looking up the moon, people will think of their relatives afar and good wishes are expressed in their mind.

Eating Moon Cakes

As with every Chinese holiday, the Mid-Autumn Festival has its own special food. People eat moon cakes at Mid-Autumn Festival. The moon cake is a kind of cookie with various fillings and on the surface are printed different artistic patterns depicting the story of Chang Er flying to the moon. People treated this kind of food as one of the sacrificial offerings to the moon in the old days. Today, it has become an indispensable food while appreciating the bright moon for every family. Moon cakes come in various flavors which change according to the region but common fillings are nuts, sugar, sesame, ham and egg yolk.

As the moon cake is round in shape, it symbolizes the reunion of a family, so it is easy to understand how the eating of moon cakes under the round moon can inspire the missing of distant relatives. Nowadays, people present the moon cakes to relatives and friends to demonstrate that they wish them a long and happy life.

BEIJING: China will celebrate 60 years of communist rule on Thursday with lavish festivities showcasing the Asian giant's dramatic transformation to a diplomatic, economic and military power.

The Communist Party, firmly in control since the founding of the People's Republic on 1 October 1949, will seize the moment to glorify its achievements and promote national unity at a time when social and ethnic unrest is mounting.

The celebrations will highlight China's path from near-isolation when Mao Zedong addressed the masses at Tiananmen Square, to success as the world's third largest economy, 30 years after Deng Xiaoping opened the door to capitalism.

The People's Liberation Army, the world's largest with 2.3 million soldiers, has for a year prepared for Thursday's parade, a once-a-decade event that will be scrutinised by foreign armies concerned about Beijing's military buildup.

General Gao Jianguo, a military spokesman, said the PLA would "maintain its glorious tradition of frugality," but the costly display of hardware, likely to include new intercontinental ballistic missiles, will be a huge show of force.

More than 50 new and "100 per cent China-made" weapons, including missiles, high-tech radar and other support systems will be on offer - a symbol of the "quantum leap" Beijing says it has taken in boosting its capabilities.

"This is meant to show the world that China can indeed back up its increasing diplomatic and economic power," Arthur Ding, a PLA expert at National Chengchi University in Taiwan, told AFP.

But the National Day parade - to be staged under the tightest security ever deployed in the capital - is far more than a military hardware exhibition.

A human tide of 200,000 people will flood the parade route, along with 8,000 vehicles, to tell the story of modern China's 60-year history.

About 100,000 students and workers have been recruited to take part in mass song and dance performances or ride along Chang'an Avenue aboard colourful floats depicting the country's many successes.

And state media has said the evening's fireworks display will be the biggest the world has ever seen.

At Tiananmen Square, where President Hu Jintao will make a keynote speech, 56 massive columns in red and gold have been set up to represent the dozens of ethnic groups in a country rattled by deadly violence in Tibet and Xinjiang.

The party now sees the situation of ethnic minorities as a "burning issue", according to Jean-Philippe Beja, an expert at the French Centre for the Study of Modern China in Hong Kong.

The October 1 celebrations, while sparking a surge in patriotic pride for Beijing's 17 million residents, have also created a logistical nightmare.

Thousands of extra police have been deployed on the streets of the capital - more than were mobilised for last year's Beijing Olympics - to ensure that nothing goes wrong on Thursday, and flights will be grounded during the parade.

The numerous dress rehearsals staged by authorities virtually paralysed the city, with entire neighbourhoods closed to traffic for hours at a time, underground rail lines shut down and hotels, businesses and schools closed.

Kites have been banned, and knives are no longer available in city shops after two stabbing incidents in a tourist area near Tiananmen Square rattled authorities. City workers have tried to clear the plaza of bugs and pests.

Even rain and fog have been barred. China's air force will deploy aircraft to spray cloud dispersal chemicals and "fog dispersal vehicles" will be used to ensure blue skies and dry conditions for National Day.

Workers have spent weeks decorating the city with mountains of flowers, but most Beijingers, rather than celebrate in the streets, will be at home watching on their televisions, which for weeks have been spewing out programmes glorifying the nation.

Local cinema screens are being dominated by one film -- "Jianguo Daye" (The Founding of a Republic), a sweeping epic featuring top stars like Zhang Ziyi and Jackie Chan, who worked for free to promote National Day.

Amidst the patriotic fervour, local media and university experts have not been authorised to debate the deadly legacy of Mao's Great Leap Forward and the Cultural Revolution, or the subsequent repression of all dissident thought.

"All discussion about who Mao was and what these 60 years have been about is being shrugged off," said Beja.

"There is no debate - China is on the way to becoming a powerful and prosperous country, full stop," he added.

Facebook is being blocked in China over the Urumqi clashes.

Rediya Kadeer, president of the World Uighur Congress, explained “social media is critical to the Uighurs’ cause” in an exclusive AllFacebook interview earlier this week. Facebook wall posts were used to spread news after Twitter shut down in Urumqi, China, AllFacebook reported Sunday.

China’s shutdown of Facebook is part of a larger social media trend where citizens are denied access to Facebook and Twitter as a means of enforcing state control over media. Google was also targeted in dramatic fashion on Chinese TV recently, when Google’s “autosuggest” search functionality was manipulated by Beijing to show how Google actually suggests that Chinese users search for porn online.

China is also watching Iran, where social media effectively provided live coverage of the election protests. An Internet exec commented to me that “it’s as exciting as the CNN coverage of the first Gulf War” to watch the protests unfold via Twitter.

BEIJING, Sept. 26 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese mainland confirmed 1,387 new cases of the A/H1N1 influenza in the 48 hours ending 3 p.m. Friday, bringing the total number to 15,968, according to the Ministry of Health.

Of the new cases, only six were "imported cases," while the rest were all infected on the Chinese mainland, the ministry said Friday.

So far, no deaths from A/H1N1 virus have been reported on the Chinese mainland, but Taiwan has reported 17 deaths, of whom two were pregnant women.

China issued a warrant for mass inoculation of A/H1N1 flu vaccine on Sept. 8 after it approved vaccines produced by several domestic pharmaceutical companies including Sinovac and Hualan days earlier.

Beijing has been leading the country in inoculation. About 39,000 residents in the city had been inoculated by Tuesday afternoon, with 14 cases of adverse reaction.

According to Liang Xiaofeng, director of the immunization center under the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention(CDC), four of the 14 adverse reactions "may be" related to the vaccines, and the center was still investigating.

Love Talk / How to mend a broken heart
September 26, 2009, 11:59:56 AM
People may say no one ever died of a broken heart, but when you're suffering from one, it sure doesn't feel that way--at least initially. These suggestions may help you navigate the painfully troubled waters of a relationship that has ended and help you heal a broken heart.

Day 1 and 2
Step 1 Breathe. All you can do is survive this first and difficult day. Take one day at a time. Give yourself permission to mourn. Call in sick at work, sleep all day, eat too much ice cream, sob.

Step 2 Congratulate yourself for being human: It is only when you open yourself to love that your heart can break. Develop and repeat a helpful mantra to get you through the initial shock and pain, such as "This too shall pass" or "I will survive."

Step 3 Reach out to a close friend or family member. It helps to share your thoughts with others. Watch a movie to distract yourself. Choose a comedy that has cheered you up in the past. Or watch a movie that's guaranteed to make you sob--it may surprise you how good that feels.

Month 1
Step 1 Week 1: Force yourself to go out even if you are feeling despondent. Take yourself out for a cup of coffee or go on a long walk. Express your emotions in a way that comes naturally. Write in a journal, paint, sculpt or play music. Do daily cardiovascular exercise--the endorphins will give your spirits an immediate lift. Resist the urge to call your ex. Instead, write a letter. Don't mail it. Go out of town for the weekend to distance yourself from the temptation to call your ex. Visit an old friend or go back home to your roots. A change of environment does wonders for the spirit. Put everything that reminds you of your ex in a box and seal it. Throw it away, donate it to charity or ask a friend to hold on to it indefinitely.

Step 2 Week 2: Surround yourself with friends. This may mean reaching out to people you fell out of touch with during the relationship. Make lists to help you regain your confidence and identity: a list of your friends, of things you like, of what you want to accomplish in the next decade. Spoil yourself: Get a new hairstyle, have a spa day or go shopping. Resist the urge to call your ex.

Step 3 Week 3: Assess the experience. Have you learned anything about yourself? Does the experience make you more empathetic to others who've suffered a hardship? Begin an activity that will fill your time, distract your mind and rebuild your confidence. Train for a marathon, take up yoga or learn a new language. Resist the urge to call your ex. Volunteer your time at a local homeless shelter, soup kitchen or tutoring center. It will take your mind off your own woes and keep your suffering in perspective.

Step 4 Week 4: Continue regular socializing and exercising. While socializing, though, make sure you don't depend on alcohol or drugs to dull the pain. Call your ex if you feel it would be helpful. Resist if you merely want to say hurtful things. Consider dating other people, but be wary of rebound relationships. Understand that you will need to experience and process sadness, anger, guilt and fear to fully heal. Burying or ignoring these emotions will thwart the healing process. Write, cry, share the feelings with friends.

Months 3 to 6
Step 1 Force yourself to go on dates. You'll be surprised to discover that your heart can still flutter over someone. It's part of the healing process.

Step 2 Consult a psychiatrist if you are experiencing symptoms of depression, such as lack of appetite, insomnia or too much sleeping, low self-esteem, and an inability to concentrate or carry out routine tasks. Ask a friend or physician to recommend one who is experienced in treating depression.

Step 3 Remember that healing is a process that takes time. Expect waves of sadness, anger, guilt or fear even after you think you are over it. Give your heart time to heal.

One year and beyond
Step 1 Compartmentalize the experience in your memory: "My heart was broken once. It really hurt and I'm glad it's over."

Step 2 Reach out to your ex if you want to re-establish a friendship. Do not harbor secret ambitions of winning him or her back. You'll only set yourself up for another heartbreak.

Fashion Trend / How To Choose The Best Hairstyle
September 26, 2009, 11:43:03 AM
Your face shape as well as the texture of your hair places a "big part" on how your hairstyle will look.
Here are some tips to help you choose the the best hairstyle

Step 1. Determine your facial shape: Long, Heart-Shaped, Round or Square.
Oval: You have a high forehead, prominent jaw line and narrow chin.
Heart: You have a wide forehead and high cheekbones that tapper into a pointy chin.
Round: Your chin is full and your cheeks are as wide as your forehead and jaw.
Square: Your cheeks are flat and your jaw is as wide as your forehead.

Step 2. For an Oval Face: A cut with lots of volume and movement at the cheekbones. Blunt-cut bangs that fall below the brows which help to shorten the face. A deep side part, soft waves and loose curls that
build body at the sides of the face to makes narrow.

Step 3 For a Heart-Shaped Face: A cut with long bangs that fall just below the eyes and are easily swept to the side.  A cut with flippy ends that fall below the jaw to help fill the sides of a narrow chine.

Step 4. For a Square Shaped Face: A cut with fringy bangs at eyebrow level in the center of the forehead and a little longer at the sides will help to break up the width.  Face-framing waves that start at the heekbones.  Long layers that begin a few inches below the jaw line will give your hair movement.

Step 5 For a Round Shaped Face: A cut with long, face-framing layers, smooth, sleek bobs or any style that adds height on top to elongate the face. A deep side part will draw attention away from full cheeks.

How To Tips / How to Cure Fatigue
September 26, 2009, 11:28:32 AM
Chronic fatigue is one of the major causes of stress and health problems today. With our ever-increasing workloads and long hours spent behind the computer, many of us don't get the proper amount of sleep each night. If you are suffering from extreme fatigue, you probably suffer from multiple health problems. Learn how to cure fatigue naturally and effectively.

Step 1. Have a pre-sleep ritual. Many people head straight from checking email into bed. This not only heightens your stress level, you may not be able to rest because of the increased excitement you experienced pre-bedtime. A pre-sleep ritual could include a hot bath, a glass of warm milk or a good book you keep on your nightstand.

Step 2. Eat properly. One of the best ways to curb fatigue is to eat plenty of nutrient-rich foods. Fruits, vegetables, lean meats and whole grains are all excellent sources of vitamins and minerals.

Step 3. Make a schedule. Allow ample time to complete your household chores, work and other responsibilities. Stick to that schedule in order to avoid being overworked.

Step 4. See your doctor. Your primary care physician may refer you to a specialist or run tests on you. They may even be able to prescribe you sleep medication.

Step 5. Get fresh air. Throughout your work day, head outside for a dose of sunshine and fresh outdoor air. It will do wonders for your senses and overall well-being.

Step 6. Exercise. One of the best ways to increase your energy levels is by getting enough physical exercise.

Michael Jackson's one-time spiritual advisor, Rabbi Shmuley Boteach, has authored a book that depicts a strained relationship between Jackson and Madonna and paints Jackson as a man who wanted to "disappear," according to the AP.

The Michael Jackson Tapes: A Tragic Icon Reveals His Soul in Intimate Conversation, released Friday, is said to be based on 30 hours of taped interviews that took place in 2000 and 2001. Boteach, 42, said he and Jackson originally created the tapes to strengthen Jackson's public image.

"It was Michael's wish to bare his soul and unburden himself to a public that he knew was deeply suspicious of him," Boteach writes on his website. Boteach and Jackson parted ways after Jackson was charged with sexual abusing a child in 2003 for the second time.

NBC's Dateline will play the tapes on its Friday program. Boteach also appeared on the Today show Friday to discuss the book and Michael's June 25 death.

On the tapes, Jackson discussed his courtship of and rivalry with Madonna, his strained relationship with his father and his fear of growing old.

"Madonna laid down the law to me before we went out," saying, "'I am not going to Disneyland, okay? That's out.'" Jackson talked about steamy phone conversations the two shared during their romance but ultimately, Jackson said, Madonna was jealous of his fame.

Jackson also talked about the years of abuse he endured from his father and former manager, Joe Jackson. "He was rough," Michael said of his father. "The way he would beat you hard, you know, was hard."

Some of the darkest interviews concern Michael's own will to live, or lack thereof. "If it weren't for children, I would choose death. I mean it with all my heart," he said. Michael is also quoted as saying, "I would like some way to disappear where people don't see me anymore at some point."

"He lost the will to live," Boteach told Today's Meredith Vieira. "I think he was just going through the motions of life toward the end."

Michael's death has been ruled a homicide by the Los Angeles County Coroner's office and the investigation is ongoing. A film based on his last concert rehearsals, This Is It, is due in theaters Oct. 30.

By SIMON ELEGANT AND CHENGCHENG JIANG Simon Elegant And Chengcheng Jiang â€" Fri Sep 25, 6:55 pm ET
In many ways, Lou Jing is a typical young Shanghainese woman. Pretty and confident, she speaks Mandarin heavily accented with the lilting tones of the Shanghai dialect and browses the malls of this huge city for the latest fashions.

But there is one thing that distinguishes this 20-year-old from her peers, something that has made her the unwitting focus of an intense public debate about what exactly it means to be Chinese: the color of her skin. Born to a Chinese mother and an African-American father whom she has never met, the theater student rocketed into the public consciousness last month when she took part in an American Idol-esque TV show, "Go! Oriental Angel." (See pictures of modern Shanghai.)

The marketing gurus for the series could hardly have dreamed of a better promotional gimmick when they started to investigate the backgrounds of the dozens of pop star wannabes to root out the competitors' mushy stories of triumph over adversity that are a well-worn staple of the genre. Here was a tale guaranteed to attract eyeballs - a girl of mixed race brought up by a single Chinese mother struggling to gain acceptance in a deeply conservative, some would say rascist, society.

The strategy worked - perhaps too well. In August, Lou's appearance on the show not only boosted viewer numbers, but sparked an intense nationwide debate about the essential meaning of being "Chinese." Over the last month on Internet chat rooms, where modern China's sensitive issues are thrashed out by netizens long before they reach the heavily censored mainstream media, Lou's ethnicity has been the subject of a relentless barrage of criticism, some of it crudely racist. They think she should not have been allowed to compete on a Chinese show, or at least not to be selected to represent Shanghai in the national competition. She doesn't have fair skin, which is one of the most important factors for Chinese beauty. What's more, her mother and her biological father were never married. Morally, this kind of behavior shouldn't be publicized, so she shouldn't have been put on TV as a young "idol."

These kinds of posts on the most popular chat rooms have attracted thousands of comments. A few have been supportive of Lou, but the rest range from expressions of fear and ignorance to outright racism. One of the most popular posts about Lou Jing on the KDS Life forum asks in mock-seriousness: "Is it possible that she is Obama's daughter?" Another poster said: "I can't believe she's so shameless that she would go on TV." Most of the critics are agreed on one point - that this black woman cannot be regarded as a "real" Chinese.

As recently as the 1970s, foreigners were largely barred from living in China, let alone marrying a local. China does not easily accept mixed race children as "true-blooded" Chinese: As soon as a child is born, Chinese parents are required to register with the authorities as to which of the 56 government-approved ethnic groups their child belongs; there are no mixed-race categories. For her part, Lou feels she is very much Chinese. "When I meet somebody for the first time, they'd often ask me how I can speak Chinese so well, and I tell them 'Because I'm a Chinese, of course I can speak my mother-tongue well.'" Lou says defiantly. "I don't like to be treated differently."

As China undergoes an astonishing demographic shift and more foreigners make their homes in the Middle Kingdom, Lou is by no means the only one being treated differently. Recent decades have seen a surge in the number of mixed-race couples. According to the data offered by Shanghai Civil Affairs Bureau, from 1994 to 2008, each year, there are about 3,000 more mixed race marriages in Shanghai. But as the children of that first generation of mixed-race marriages now come of age, their moves to gain acceptance in society - like Lou's participation in the TV show - have exposed a deep-running vein of xenophobia in Chinese society. Last year, Ding Hui, a young man of African-Chinese ethnicity, caused a stir when he was called up to the national volleyball team, prompting much soul-searching about whether this athlete should be allowed to represent China alongside other 'pure-blooded' Chinese competitors. Eventually, Ding Hui did go on to play in the national team.

"As China continues to open up, this kind of phenomenon will become ever more prevalent," says David Zweig, a professor of Humanities & Social Sciences at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. "This is part of the process of internationalization, but we can only hope that Chinese people, including netizens and the people whose views tend towards extremism, can come to accept that there are many mixed-race people both in China and worldwide."

As for Lou, she found the whole experience more than a little disturbing. She did well in the show, ranking in the top 30 contestants before she was eliminated. Now she's back to her normal life as a college junior - with a little new insight into her home. "Through this competition, it's really scary to find out how the color of my skin can cause such a big controversy."

have u ever wondered which hurts the most; saying something and wishing you had not, or saying nothing and wishing you had? :-\
