Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.

Colossians 3:12-14

O Jesus, Eternal High Priest,
I offer You through Your Immaculate Mother Mary,
Your own Precious Blood, in all the Masses throughout the world, as petition for graces for all seminarians, Your future priests, especially for J.R. Louvre.

Give them humility, meekness, prudence, and a burning zeal for soul. Fill their hearts with the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

Teach them to know and love the church, that they may always and everywhere speak, act, and think with her, the glorious spouse of Christ.

Teach them generosity and detachment from wordly goods; but above all, teach them to know You and to love the One and Only Eternal Priest. good Shepherd of Souls, hear this my prayer for saintly priests.
Amen.

O Lord Jesus Christ, great High Priest, I pray that You call many worthy souls to Your holy priesthood.

Enlighten the Bishop in the choice of candidates, the Spiritual Director in molding them, and the professors in instructing them.

Lead the seminarians daily in Your unerring footsteps; so that they may become priests who are models of purity, possessors of wisdom and heroes of sacrifice;
steeped in humility and aflame with love for God and man; apostles of Your glory and sanctifiers of souls.
Amen.

Mary, Queen of the Clergy, pray for us.

Saint Charles Borromeo, pray for our seminarians.

God our Father,
You have chosen Your Son, Jesus Christ,
to reveal Yourself to us.

You have chosen Your Church to show us Your love through Him.
You have chosen J.R , your son,
to be a priest as a sign of that love to Your people.

We pray that the Holy Spirit continue to fill him with Your peace and joy as he prepares for the holy priesthood.

We pray that through his priesthood he may proclaim the wonder of Your faithfulness and love to all through Jesus Christ our Lord!
Amen.

The amount of American trade that traverses through the South China Sea is greater than China's Gross National Product. So, this region is of overwhelming pertinence for American strategic interests. United States will never allow China to have a choke hold control of the South China Sea.

China also knows that the 7th Fleet, alone, could send the entire Chinese Navy to the bottom of the Pacific.

The presence of the 7th Fleet in the region has effectively silenced Chinese aggressive rhetoric.

He he he, also notice that recently China and Philippines agree to "reduce tension and harsh rhetoric" during the ASEAN meeting this week in Cambodia.

China's Foreign Minister Honglei talked with his Filipino Counterpart, Mr. Del Rosario, to reduce tension.

How amazing how China reacts favorably to when The United States commits its presence to the region again. ;)

WASHINGTON: The United States will renew its naval power across the Asia-Pacific region and stay "vigilant" in the face of China's growing military, Defence Secretary Leon Panetta said on Tuesday.

On the eve of a trip to Asia that will include stops in Singapore, Vietnam and India, Panetta said in a speech that the country's future depended on ensuring security throughout the Western Pacific and the Indian Ocean.

"America is a maritime nation, and we are returning to our maritime roots," Panetta told graduates of the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.

"One of the key projects that your generation will have to face is sustaining and enhancing American strength across the great maritime region of the Asia-Pacific," he said.

Reflecting US concern over China's rise and more assertive stance in the South China Sea, President Barack Obama has announced a strategic shift toward Asia after wrapping up the US military presence in Iraq and overseeing a troop drawdown in Afghanistan.

Panetta encouraged the new naval officers to forge stronger security ties with China even as he vowed the United States would not let down its guard.

"We need you to strengthen defence ties with China. China's military is growing and modernising. We must be vigilant. We must be strong. We must be prepared to confront any challenge," he said.

"But the key to that region is to develop a new era of defence cooperation between our countries - one in which our militaries share security burdens in order to advance peace in the Asia-Pacific and around the world," he said.

He called on the graduates to strengthen long-time alliances with Japan, South Korea, Australia and the Philippines while also building "robust partnerships" with countries such as Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Singapore and India.

In Singapore this week, Panetta is due to attend an annual Asia security summit, the Shangri-La Dialogue, organised by the London-based International Institute for Strategic Studies.

MANILA, Philippines, May 29 (UPI) -- China has expressed concern over comments made by U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton regarding ownership of islands in the South China Sea.

Clinton recently discussed maritime demarcation issues surrounding contested archipelagos in the South China Sea and China observed that the remarks may have exceeded the precepts embedded in the 1982 the U.N. Convention on the Law of the Sea, the Manila Bulletin reported Tuesday.

Clinton testified in support of congressional approval of the Law of the Sea Convention, which would put the United States in a stronger position to support countries "being threatened" by Chinese claims to certain islands.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei issued a statement through the Chinese Embassy in Manila, stating: "We have noticed the related reports and we express concern over this. To our knowledge, on the issue of the South China Sea, non-claimant Association of South East Asian Nations countries and countries outside the region have adopted a position of not getting involved into territorial disputes.

"On this important prerequisite and foundation, the Chinese side has consistently committed to safeguarding peace and stability in the South China Sea region by means such as negotiating and signing with ASEAN countries the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the South China Sea, in parallel with our efforts to pursue dispute settlement through negotiations with countries directly concerned."

May 30, 2012, 03:16:33 AM
Mother of the Word Incarnate, help us to become more aware of the need for vocations…

O, Mary, intercede for us!

Mother of God, grant that others, like yourself, may say “yes” to your Son’s call to the religious life…

O, Mary, intercede for us!

Mother of the Church, may many workers be added to the service of your Son’s Church…

O, Mary, intercede for us!

Lady of Mercy, enlighten our minds so we may respond to our responsibility as parents to foster vocations in our own homes…

O, Mary, intercede for us!

Hail Mary, help our children to bind themselves closer to God, through a vocation in the Church…

O, Mary, intercede for us!

Queen of Angels, give our Church true disciples who will serve as priests, sisters and brothers…

O, Mary, intercede for us!

Dearest Mother, keep our young open to hear God’s call…

O, Mary, intercede for us!

Mother of Love, make us more open to the love our priests and religious have for us…

O, Mary, intercede for us!

Our Lady Queen of Heaven, help us to recognize that God alone does not call…

O, Mary, intercede for us!

Holy Family, help the families in this parish to discuss vocations to the religious life in a positive, encouraging manner…

O, Mary, intercede for us!

Queen of the Rosary, remind us to pray for our religious, and those studying for the religious life, that they will remain zealous and dedicated to their call…

O, Mary, intercede for us!

Our Lady of Lourdes, we ask for happiness among priests, seminarians and all those engaged in a special Christian vocation to service…

O, Mary, intercede for us!

O Mother, help us to be a sign of that which we believe; and thereby, be an inspiration to a young man and woman to become a priest or sister or brother…

O, Mary, intercede for us!

Our Lady of Fatima, bring an increase in missionary vocations so that the Christian message will be heard by all nations…

O, Mary, intercede for us!

Mother of Courage, be with the young man or woman, priest or sister who needs our help in a special way today…

O, Mary, intercede for us!

Mother of God, may we recognize our own vocation and the importance of religious vocations to ours…

O, Mary, intercede for us!

Our Lady of Mercy, let us as parishioners become aware of the needs of our own priests and respond to them out of love…

O, Mary, intercede for us!

Mother of our Savior, may more young men and women go from this parish as priests, brothers and sisters to bring the truths of our Catholic faith to all others, so that they may know and love your Son…

O, Mary, intercede for us!

I've treated a lot of patients who are HIV +, some who have progressed to AIDS. A person who is HIV + will be labeled as having "AIDS" when their CD4 cell count drops below 200. After that, they are very susceptible to a host of pathological infection because of the extermination of their immune system by the HIV virus.

Patients who are HIV+ are placed on high intensity Anti-Viral regimen to prevent their CD4 count from dropping further. By doing this, we can prolong their immune system functioning indefinitely and thereby preventing their conversion to full blow AIDS in the process.

The standard HIV ANTI-VIRAL Therapy is:

2 Protease Inhibitor
1 Non-protease inhibitor

A normal healthy individual will have a CD4 count of around 1,000. Reference range lang ni ba.

You're right, Father, isumbong lang ni sija sa Ginoo. I just can't help that she would make such an asinine comment about "stupid" Filipino accents. Who gives her the right to condemn our accent, its what makes us unique and beautiful. Not everyone sounds thesame. I wonder how she feels about Thai accents, Chinese accents, Japanese accents, Indian accents. Considering the fact that her children's nanny was a a Pinay, she could have at least developed a sense of trust, a sense of respect for the caregiver. It's quite saddening really.

Elemen filed a nine-page lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court on Wednesday claiming that the "Basic Instinct" star harassed her continually during her five years on the job, especially about her "stupid" Filipino accent, and says that Stone ordered her to not speak in front of the children â€" Roan, 12, Laird, 7, and 6-year-old Quinn â€" so that they would "not talk like you."

The suit also reveals that Stone, Tibetan Buddhism convert, would not allow Elemen to read her Bible while in the actress' home, and alleges that the 53-year-old actress finally fired her in February 2011 once she discovered that Elemen had been paid overtime, which she deemed as "stealing" from her, even though it was in accordance with state law.

How very rude of her to say that. She's really going to make a lot of enemies in the Filipino-American community. And there are over 1,000,000 of them over there in California. Watch out Ms. Stone, your doctor or nurse might be a Pinoy with a "stupid" accent as what you put it....

"if a lady farts with a clap of thunder in a crowded public place and stinks up the whole room.... you as a gentleman, must turn around and loudly say: Oh, I'm sorry, madam, excuse me.... It must be something I ate when I was feeding in the graveyard...."

She'll be SO, SO grateful to you...

If you are a real gentleman, if you are driving with your girl friend and she farts and you smell it, instead of making a big fuss, just close the windows and breath it in to show her you don't care how her farts smell. Trust me, it will show to her how much you love her. ;)

Dili ba "superficial" ang love nimo para nija.

I just recently completed a doctoral class on Advanced Research Methods and Statistics with a grade of 96. It's one Ph.D class down, more to go pa gajod. I feel inspired to accomplish all of these goals , academic, clinical, that the Lord God has placed on my lap (literally and figuratively). I am encouraged that He will always stand by me to strengthen me and to encourage me during this arduous journey. In the times that I feel overwhelmed because of medical duty, student duty and teaching duty, I have to remind myself that I am not alone in this matter, but am equipped by the Power of God to accomplish these goals. In times of burden, I have to remind myself to give all of my stress and sources of stress to Jesus Christ. Man cannot do everything by himself, but, as I have learned, if you commit your plans to The Lord God and to Trust in His ways, He will guide you always.

A verse from scripture that came to me today:

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;

In all your ways acknowledge Him,
and He will make your paths straight. ”

God's Eternal Blessings

by: M.S.Lowndes

God’s eternal blessings
Flows down from above
To equip us in His mission
To spread His wondrous love
So He can always use us
And stretch us in our faith
So we may be a blessing
To others by His grace
For everything we need
God will graciously provide
Through His eternal blessings
That’s abundant in our lives

:D

Amen! In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Through Christ we can do anything, Amen!

For Christ is our rock and the mighty power that works in us, Amen!

Because Christ loves me and empowers me to be a force of  good in my life, Amen!

Because Christ teaches us to not only receive blessings but to bless others abundantly as well, Amen!

LXX means seventy. This is refering to the Septuagint which also means 70. Seventy because Ptolemy II of Egypt commissioned 70 rabbis to translate the hebrew bible into greek.

Lorenzo,

The primary goal in the Council of Nicea was to proclaim the divinity of Jesus because there was a certain bishop by the name of Arius whose taught that Jesus is only a human being. Until now the divinity of Jesus is still being debated because there are cults in the Philippines that do not believe Christ as God; like the INC of Manalo, ADD of Eli Soriano [ADD does not believe Jesus is a supreme God], Witnesses of Jehovah [this sect believe that Jesus is the archangel Michael] and islam.

The 7 books above are the deuterocanonical. They are part of the catholic canon of the bible which are also included in the Septuagint. The apochrypal are hidden books of the bible or scriptures not included in the bible. Example are the gnostic bible, docetist and the early christian writings. There are characters in the church that are not found in the bible but it is written in the apochrypal books. Example are; Estas and Dimas, Saint Veronica, St. Longinus etc... The Didache is considered apochrypal.

Thank You, Sir Way Nada , for the awesome information.

Lorenzo

Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

Yes. I have an electric typewriter that I purchased when I was in high school. It was on sale in CVS for $49.99 at the time. It now sits in my desk back home in New Jersey. Waiting for my next return to use it again.... :)

My younger brothers joked at me one time saying, "Kuya Bran, why do you have this box for? Its useless." I told them, "Don't you know that this is how teenagers used to write with to do home work papers before the age of the computer!?"

ha, ha, ha!  ;D
