i dunno why some make this an issue, with this global crisis, i cant blame these young filipinas resorting to this afterall the government hasnt done so much to minimize if not take away poverty. i would say this is the easiest way out of hunger especially to those young filipinas who have a hard time getting jobs. anyway, most of them turn out to have better lives and married and are happy.

here in cebu, particularly in lapu-lapu city where hotel and resorts are abundant. you can see foreigners walking around the city's malls and shopping centers accompanied by young filipinas whose age are ranging from 13-19 years old. i think that's pretty obvious, that these teenagers are exploited by their own parents to be with these people to earn money. i asked some of those people who has some knowledge about this kind of relationships and most of them have the same answers, poverty is the reason.

if it can feed their family, i cant blame them. kanya kanyang diskarte sa buhay yan. those who are criticizing so much about this kind of relationships are not the one feeding them so anong paki nila. after all both parties benefit in whatever their intentions in the relationship are.

I don't know, but for me, what makes Indian food different from ours is only the curry and the yogurt. I am somewhat a sort of a culinary practitioner (cooking is one of my most effective stress reliever, second only to playing soccer). As for the "spicyness" of these oriental food well, my barometer for spicyness is somewhat higher and Thai, Indian or Singaporean dishes are for me well...okey. Ive' tasted a true blue (I think) Bicol Express composed of 25% meat for flavor, 75% sili for the sting. Kon magtagbo ang sip-on og luha, manghapdos akong tinae og makaligo nakog singot sa kahalang, mao gyud nay "really hot and spicy".... ;D

Try Vindaloo, one of the hottest or even so Phall, the hottest Indian food. It is claimed that the name is derived from phallus to signify the machismo of a man who can eat such hot food.

Yes Indians are called "Bombay" by Filipinos. It's either because of Mumbai, formerly called Bombay - the capital of the Indian State of Maharashtra or just because they are spicy like onions (commonly called here in Pinas as bombay)

Ang Asiatika in Metro Center is serving Thai Food but lacks the kick. Lahi ra ang lami. I tried their Tom Yum Gung. Mura rag tinunuan na medyo halang. Nagluspad lang ang agi. Kulang sa spice. I dont even see the galangal. Whenever I have a cook-out with my friends, or attend a pot-luck event, I usually bring the favored Chicken Adobo, and since my colleagues are mostly South Asians (Indian or Pakistani-Americans, their tongues usually are used to hot foods). To ammend this, I've added curry to my dishes, its actually made it taste better. Adding a bit of curry (yellow curry) to menudo or pang care care actually works; even as much as adding a little bit of sprite or 7-up to it (ive learned this vis-a-vis my father, lol).

I agree with you tho, Mari. Filipino Food, naturally, is very sweet or sour, or salty. With the herbs and favorite spice of black beens or bay leaves; our dishes are more opined towards Spanish cuisines. Its a mixture of Chinese and Spanish ; with the Spanish presence in our marinades undeniably present.

I must admit tho, the Chicken adobo is a favorite for some of my Indian and Paki brothers and sisters. They love it. And I, have become used to eating extremely spicey foods, though having antacids and milk and yogurt on the side works too. lol!

Sri Lankan food, however, is too spicey for my tongue.

I trust you must love eating tum yung gong?

hehe

g*** naglaway ko dong when you mentioned Tom Yum Gung, i miss it. Dunno how to cook it, i wish i could, if i could some of the sagbot are not available here also

What spices do you need, dear?  I know it's easier to just go to this indian resto but if you wish to cook for yourself, what spices do you need aside from curry powder?  Can we easily buy curry powder in our stores there?

I have this Indian friend who always order cakes from me - two are wedding cakes.  Although strong ilang color choice, chada gihapon and I researched more about Asian Indian cultures to understand more about them.  Two weeks ago when I made this wedding cake, nabuang ko'g tan-aw sa ilang mga attires as in super beautiful!  Nan, going back to Indian food, I really like Indian food but as I said dili nko ipa spicy kaayo!

Do they have samosa and naan bread, Mari?  I make those stuff but it's sometimes good to just go to the Indian resto!  I look forward to going home kay murag medyo diversified na diay kaayo atong food diha.

Maayo ni imong gibuhat an imong gisugdan ang pag advertise!  Good job, girl!

Dili ka ka expect sa locals nga mosulod ani nga restaurant for the food bisan pa  nga affordable kay most have not been exposed to foreign cuisines with the exemption of those who have been out of the country and tried all sorts of food og kadto sad mga chili lovers. I noticed pinoy food are not hot at all unlike the neighboring asian countries nga anywhere you go, food will always be spicy and its up to you to tell them not to make them hot. Kay kung ako wala pa ko mostay in Thailand for sometime, i wouldnt have the chance to experience and appreciate spice. It has changed my outlook food wise. Me and Steve are trying to bring our friends and advertise the Indian Curry House para pud sad the business will last kay nindot baya sad ning naa tay kasuroyan sa atong mga bisita nga something different. In fairness the food there are really good and affordable also. The last time we ate there, there were 5 of us and we ordered a lot plus pila pa to ka bottles of beer for the boys, we end up paying 1200 pesos only.

Marie,

I suggest you continue with your Ornament export business.

I suggest nga mag design ka ug mga bags or wallet nga gi decoratan ug Swarovski crystals or maybe local ornaments such as shells or wooden materials.

So wala kay risk.

I download ni nga Export Guidelines ug kini makatabang kanimo: http://webh01.ua.ac.be/cas/PDF/ASEAN02.pdf

Sir Macky, thanks for the advice. I was having second thoughts with my accessories mao gani nga offline akong website ron. naglisud man gud ko sa raw material diri sa Bohol. ive been talking to my sister in NZ, she saw pictures of me wearin' borloloys and she told me they are very expensive there. I have the skills to do it but dont have the guts.

Mari,

Naa man pud negosyo nga pwede sa mas gamay nga kapital unya hilig pa nimo. Mas maayo nga dili nimo ihurot o isabwag tanan nga puhunan kay bisag unsa nga negosyo, naa may kauban nga risk.

Bisan gani 20 K pwede man ka magsugod ana. Akong misis nagsugod sa in-anang kantidad diha sa Tagbilaran. Mahilig man pud siya mag-design ug accesories, pareho nimo artistic daw kuno.

Kuya Bene, mao jud nay kulang nako 'sales talk'. I am not gifted with that, i am a backstage person. Naa pa gani koy freelance designing. Cge ingon si Steve visit hotels, resorts, restaurants and sell your skill for their calling cards, menus and other printed promo materials pero di kaya ng powers nako ang mangatubang. Mokaging jud ko...hehehe

Modesty aside, I was the best moonwalker while I was in college.  Earlier, when I was younger, people would cry when I sang "Ben" during programs. In high school I also sang "One Day in Your Life" in public. MJ was indeed one great influence in my aborted musical career.

Kuya abi nako Barry Manilow ka

It was during our time in high school when he was at his peak with songs such as "Thriller", "Beat It", "Do You wanna Be Starting Something", "Billy Jean" (which my group used to dance to whenever there were some functions that required some entertainment). During my elementary years I could not forget "Ben" and "I Wanna Rock With You", a theme from "ET" (which I forgot the title), also "Caribbean Girl". Dang! When I was way younger and slimmer I could mimic his moves, now I don't if I don't look gross when I do those moves  :)

you maybe really good with moonwalking Zecur

it's really sad that he passed. still cant believe that he is gone. i just saw his interview last May 3 for a concert in UK in July. He is a legend, i had so many dancing memories of his music.

i work for an ad company in Thailand before. half bond size ad costs 25,000baht in the magazine. a small ad in the newspaper costs 10,000baht one week exposure na
#186
that fee is only asked for those who dont wanna check in the resort but would like to eat and use their amenities like pools etc. The guards should be briefed
#187
nagpa book ko sa Bohol Tropics for my friends from Australia, wala may 'gator fee'. but i have encountered that term when i inquired at Flushing Meadows Resort. They ask 400 pesos 'gator fee' daw mura siyag entrance fee pero consumable sa ila restaurant and for pool use sad daw
