Hi Ging,

Tawgon ta na lang ka by your nickname, Grace. Makes me feel like having one more family member. I am so struck with homesickness this morning that I roused my wife from sleep at 6:00 AM Philippine time and caught my son just before he left for his early morning soccer practice. He asked me the meaning of a few Binol-anon words which he heard from his soccer buddies, and was I surprised that they are expletives. Warned him never to use them...

Then I looked over the photos of Bohol. And I chanced upon these photos of my sister Ging and her family. She's a little shy, like me, but very kind. I guess she'll be pleasantly surprised if a friendly stranger from TB greeted her.

Puti ra man mi, pero naa pud ko mga igsoon baje nga morena. I am not aware of any Japanese or Chinese blood in our lineage, kay akong papa gikan ra man na sa Candijay ug itumon, akong mama gikan Aklan ug pution. Once when I, my wife and two kids then rode the boat from Cebu to Tagbilaran, the ladies around us approached my wife and told her that they were impressed nga maayo kuno mag-Bisaya ang iyang bana nga Hapon. I was really amused by the comment and surprised them with my lawom nga Binaya just to prove nga Bol-anon ko.

sorry, i got to cut short my stay in cagayan. i went home last saturday because my wife called up informing me that our eldest son is having a fever and keeps on looking for me. and his fever is on and off since thursday. so i hurriedly boarded the earliest flight back to cebu. since i arrived, my son never let go of me. he keeps on clinging to me wherever i go, even in the CR. even when sleeping, he sleeps in my chest even if he's getting bigger and heavier now. i then accompany my wife in bringing our son to his pediatrician. it was found out that my son is having an inflamed tonsils. according to my wife, my son has been consuming a lot of chocolates in the past days that could be the culprit. also the doctor advised us to let our son undergo cbc, just a precautionary measure though. good thing the result was ok and it's a sigh of relief. my son is ok now.

At that time, uso kaayo maglarga mga katawhan especially mga programmer kay in demand kaayo to. We asked him why he wasn't going abroad. Kadto na tawo, bugoy2x ba pero seryos sa iyang work - kape ra jud bala. Anyway, his answer really struck me and up to now di jud nko gakalimtan. He said na as a father daw, responsibility daw na mo provide sa mga kids but dili lang daw financially but importantly spiritually and emotionally. Ga dako na daw iyang mga anak unya kinahanglan ug guidance from a father. For as long na makapakaon pa sya and maka provide sa basic needs, he wasn't going to leave his family.

I have six sisters and one brother in different parts of the world. I'll post photos of my other sibling as soon as I get hold of them. The one in Washington is Nida Perez, second to the eldest. I am the third child and oldest son in the family.
