Ricky Hatton has been stripped of his licence to box at a British Boxing Board of Control (BBBC) hearing but can still work as a promoter in the sport.

Hatton was found guilty of misconduct and also fined £20,000 plus costs after allegations about his use of cocaine.

A BBBC statement said Hatton's "actions and behaviour were detrimental to the interests of boxing" and had "brought the sport into disrepute".

Hatton, 31, is now at a rehabilitation clinic and facing a police inquiry.

The Manchester fighter won world titles at two weights and his last fight was his second round knockout defeat by Manny Pacquiao in May 2009.

Hatton made his professional debut in 1997 and won 45 of his 47 bouts. - bbc

it's good for him to become a promoter instead of continuing fighting. that 2nd round kayo defeat from pacman will forever linger in his mind.

I think Hatton still has nightmares over that KO loss he suffered with Manny...only problem is he doesn't know how to handle himself that well coming off from a devastating loss..we know for a fact that Hatton has a penchant for booze, and late nights..siguro it came to the point that he found himself immersed by these activities..and it slowly sucked out every last bit of his sanity.

I don't blame Ricky for these personal problems he had. i thought he knew better..but boxing is boxing. don't take it personal..
