Visions and Dreams

Find baby pictures of family members. Spend some time looking at the pictures and reflecting on each person’s potential, vision and dreams. Pray for each person.

Meatless Fridays

With the first Friday in Lent, abstinence from meat comes to the family table. Serving a meatless meal is meant to promote sacrifice.

we stay in tune with the fasting time. Have a nice weekend folks!

Selflessness

Try to live this day focused on others by avoiding using “I” or “me” in conversation.

CLEANSE YOUR HOME NOW!

"Lord Jesus Christ, Who said to Your apostles, 'In whatever home you enter, greet it, saying, 'Peace be in this home,' let this same peace, we pray, abide in this place. We beseech You to sanctify it by the merits of our trusting prayer!

"Pour Your blessings on it, and make it a place of peace. May salvation enter our abode as it entered the house of Zacchaeus, when You graced it with Your presence.

"Entrust Your angels to guard it and banish from it every evil power.

"Grant that all who live in it may please You with their good works, and so receive from You, when their time comes, the reward of Your heavenly home.
We ask this through Christ, Our Lord, Amen."

The storms of life reveal the strength of our faith. Faith doesn't eliminate trials but it determines whether we fall or stand in the storm.

Simply Living

Lenten practice: In the spirit of Matthew 25, give away or throw away three or more unneeded things each week for the rest of Lent. Meditate on living more simply

Words Aside

Just being with God is good enough. No words are really necessary. After all, He knows what we need before we even ask.

Yes, a minute of meditation in any situation:

1. Your mission in life, why are you here;
2. To God's goodness, let us meditate
A) for the air that we breathe;
B)The water that we drink
C) The food that we eat- from the the farmer's seed, going all along to your plate on your table today, tomorrow and the rest of your life;
D) To Jesus our god, that inspite of our sinfulness, we are still alive and kicking, enjoying the bounties of his blessing.

To God, praise and Glory for his Wonderful Name-A Name above Every Name.

Plan Ahead

Look ahead to Lent's end and reserve the Triduum dates--Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Vigil--so that you will be available to watch and pray at your parish.

Bro. Lorenzo,

Blessing for Medicine -

(The Roman Ritual presents the prayer below to ask God's blessing on medicine. Many doctors testify that the prayer said over it eliminates collateral effects and makes it a more effective remedy.)

V:  Our help is in the name of the Lord.

R: Who made heaven and earth.

V: The Lord be with you.

R: And with your spirit.

Let Us Pray:

O our God! You marvelously created man and more marvelously redeemed him. Please help with Your numerous aids the human condition in the land of Your children who are always susceptible to diverse infirmities. Answer our prayers and bless these medicines (and medical instruments) so that everyone who uses them or is under their influence may enjoy the presence of Your providence in body and soul.

You who, through Your Son Jesus Christ, healed so many infirmities, and who reigns with Him and the Holy Spirit forever and ever.

Amen.

Have a Blessed day ! In God we trust .

Bread of Life

At the family meal serve some really good bread and talk about your heart’s desire. God is listening. God doesn’t want us to eat stone soup when bread gives life

Why Go To Church?

A Church goer wrote a letter to the editor of a newspaper and complained that it
made no sense to go to church every Sunday. "I've gone for 30 years now," he
wrote, "and in that time I have heard something like 3,000 sermons. But for the
life of me, I can't remember a single one of them. So, I think I'm wasting my
time and the pastors are wasting theirs by giving sermons at all."

This started a real controversy in the "Letters to the Editor" column, much to
the delight of the editor. It went on for weeks until someone wrote this
clincher:

"I've been married for 30 years now. In that time my wife has cooked some 32,000
meals. But, for the life of me, I cannot recall the entire menu for a single one
of those meals. But I do know this.. They all nourished me and gave me the
strength I needed to do my work. If my wife had not given me these meals, I
would be physically dead today. Likewise, if I had not gone to church for
nourishment, I would be spiritually dead today!" When you are DOWN to nothing...
God is UP to something! Faith sees the invisible, believes the incredible and
receives the impossible! Thank God for our physical AND our spiritual
nourishment!

All right, now that you're done reading, send it on! I think everyone should
read this! "When Satan is knocking at your door, simply say, "Jesus, could you
get that for me?"

Above Minimum

Jesus shows us to go beyond the minimum and do more than is required. Perhaps we could add a day of abstinence, up our Sunday tithe, work in a soup kitchen?

Prayer When Lighting A Votive Candle

O, Blessed Lord, and my blessed Mother Mary, accept this burning candle as a sign of my faith and love for Thee. Like a candle, I am ready to be used in your service without asking why and to what purpose. Like this candle, I wish to stand in Your presence to be consumed in the light and warmth of Your love. Please hear my prayer, and if it be Your Will, grant my petition. But above all, make me loyal and faithful to You, in all circumstances of my life. Amen.

Who do you “love the least” right now?  Let us spend this day praying for our least favorite person and the grace to love them with heavenly perfection.

'All Shall Be Well'

For the believer the glass is half full. Let’s take a moment to fill a glass half full of water and put it on the kitchen table with a note from St Julian of Norwich, which says, “All shall be well!”

Renewal of Baptismal Promises

It's very important to remember one's anniversary of baptism. The Church has given an opportunity to gain a plenary indulgence if one renews the baptismal promises on that day.

A partial indulgence is granted to the faithful, who renew their baptismal promises according to formula in use; but a plenary indulgence is granted, if this is done either in the celebration of the Paschal Vigil, or on the anniversary of one's baptism.

Encourage your entire family to renew their promises at least once a year on Easter Sunday.

I, N. N., who through the tender mercy of the Eternal Father was privileged to be baptized "in the name of the Lord Jesus" (Acts 19, 5) and thus to share in the dignity of his divine Sonship, wish now in the presence of this same loving Father and of his only-begotten Son to renew in all sincerity the promises I solemnly made at the time of my holy Baptism.

I, therefore, now do once again renounce Satan; I renounce all his works; I renounce all his allurements.

I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was born into this world and who suffered and died for my sins and rose again. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life everlasting.

Having been buried with Christ unto death and raised up with him unto a new life, I promise to live no longer for myself or for that world which is the enemy of God but for him who died for me and rose again, serving God, my heavenly Father, faithfully and unto death in the holy Catholic Church.

Taught by our Savior's command and formed by the word of God, I now dare to say:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Be Merciful

God wants us to be generous when we measure out a dose of mercy. Today, be merciful to someone who needs our forgiveness and compassion.

Every time we say the name of Mary in prayer, she turns to her Son and says "Jesus."  And, Oh,  how He loves to hear His Mother say His Name.

"Oh Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee."

Clean Up!

In the spirit of Isaiah, clean out a junk drawer, car trunk, toy box and while we clean, have a long talk with the Divine One concerning how we can clean up our lives.

We are invited to put on an apron of service as we try to imitate Jesus. Try to put other’s needs before your own throughout this day.

VIA DOLOROSA - WAY TO CALVARY

Lenten Blessings -

Quote of the Month:

“We should assist the poor in every way and do it both by ourselves and by enlisting the help of others. To do this is to preach the gospel by works and by word.”

Pray for Grace

Water your house plants today and pray for the grace to trust God with your health, your money, your children…whatever is heavy on your heart.

Building Block

Jesus wants to be the cornerstone, the primary building block, in our lives. Let us say a Morning Offering prayer--and mean it.

Spiritual Fruits of the Mysteries of the Holy Rosary

Each Mystery represents a particular virtue. Concentrate on the virtue associated with the Mystery and ask God's grace to achieve it.

Joyful Mysteries
1. The Annunciation - Humility
2. The Visitation - Love of Neighbor

All of us have someone who is a black sheep in the family. Today, try to reconnect with that person. Let them know your door is always open.

It is precisely in times of spiritual dryness that we must hold on to our spiritual discipline so that we can grow into new intimacy with God.

Gospel
Jn 2:13-25

Since the Passover of the Jews was near,
Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
He found in the temple area those who sold oxen, sheep, and doves,
as well as the money changers seated there.
He made a whip out of cords
and drove them all out of the temple area, with the sheep and oxen,
and spilled the coins of the money changers
and overturned their tables,
and to those who sold doves he said,
"Take these out of here,
and stop making my Father's house a marketplace."
His disciples recalled the words of Scripture,
Zeal for your house will consume me.
At this the Jews answered and said to him,
"What sign can you show us for doing this?"
Jesus answered and said to them,
"Destroy this temple and in three days I will raise it up."
The Jews said,
"This temple has been under construction for forty-six years,
and you will raise it up in three days?"
But he was speaking about the temple of his body.
Therefore, when he was raised from the dead,
his disciples remembered that he had said this,
and they came to believe the Scripture
and the word Jesus had spoken.

While he was in Jerusalem for the feast of Passover,
many began to believe in his name
when they saw the signs he was doing.
But Jesus would not trust himself to them because he knew them all,
and did not need anyone to testify about human nature.
He himself understood it well.

Life is like a ladder. Every step we take is either up or down.

We make a ladder for ourselves out of our vices if we trample the vices themselves under foot.

A Servant’s Heart

Read Joshua 23:1 through 24:33

Miss Maggie smiled as she confessed: “I don’t know who I am without my apron. I feel undressed until I get my apron on.” It didn’t matter to Maggie that knee-length, bibbed aprons went out of style with the Number Eight wood-burning stove she had learned to cook on seventy-five years ago. Her lifelong ministry as a steward of pots and pans began as a child when she helped her ailing mother cook for a large family.

Although their areas of ministry were quite different the apron-lady’s commitment to serve the Lord by serving others mirrors that of Joshua, the servant-leader of the conquest of Canaan. Even though the Canaanites were never completely driven out, Joshua served the Lord faithfully and accomplished his commission with a great deal of success. Perhaps the greatest tribute paid to him is expressed in the humble phrase: He was “the servant of the Lord” (Joshua 24:29).

To serve others—whether in great or small ways—reflects God’s love. Every job, no matter how ordinary, has its reward when it is done as unto the Lord. So, if you see something that needs doing, don’t wait to be asked—just do it.

Thought for Today: The whole idea of Christian servanthood is about serving Christ by serving others.

“Most of us think of Lent as a time for giving up something. The church directs us to give up meat on Fridays and to fast on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday. These minimal penances are forms of self-denial—ways of saying no to ourselves by foregoing our usual fare. The other side of Lent is doing more, or saying yes. Lent is the church’s invitation to go forward, to move ahead, to grow in faith and devotion. The season prepares us to celebrate with greater intensity and love the death and resurrection of Jesus.”

The season of Lent is an opportunity to grow closer to God and contemplate the great love God shows us through Jesus Christ. My prayer this Lent is that I use this season to break myself of the habit of routine and use this extraordinary season to meditate on the influence of God in my life. I pray that I can recognize the opportunity Jesus extends to me every day and use the gifts given to me to bring life and abundance to my daily routine.

Give me strength to purify my heart,
to control my desires,
and so to serve You in freedom.
Teach me how to live
in this passing world with my heart set
on the world that will never end.

I ask for the grace
to master my sinfulness
and conquer my pride.
I want to show to those in need
Your goodness to me by being kind to all. Amen

Naming God

Yes, we need to name God, yet, at the same time, we can calmly assert that human naming always fails to encompass Mystery in its fullness.

Prayer

You know, Jesus, that is the way we would like to deal with our problems; we would like to take out of our life the ones we really don't like. We would like to rid our life of crosses we feel are too heavy to carry. But we can't, can we? If the cross is to be a sign of our love for you, then we must be willing to accept any cross that we are called upon to bear. Jesus, help me today to carry my crosses. Please comfort me because without your presence and your comfort, I don't think I'll be able to make it.

Eternal Father, I offer You the Wounds of Our Lord, Jesus Christ, to heal the wounds of our souls.

My Jesus, pardon and mercy, through the merits of Your Holy Wounds.

We pray that God will help us not only to hold this nail in our hands, but let it change our lives.
May the nail pierce into our own hearts so as to strip away all that is sinful so that His holiness can take over our lives.
We pray this In the name of Jesus - our Saviour whose body was pierced for love of us. AMEN.

Our thirsting for God is never over because Holy Mystery has more fullness of life than we can ever hold and because our human longing never ends.

Be yourself.
You are unique.
No comparison is possible.
Each of us develops into a unique individual
who enters into unique transactions with the world as it exists for him.

Begin to talk to Jesus about the piece of scripture you have just read. What part of it strikes a chord in you? Perhaps the words of a friend - or some story you have heard recently- will slowly rise to the surface of your consciousness. If so, does the story throw light on what the scripture passage may be trying to say to you?

Today's Verse

Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

A Lenten Prayer

When I give to others, remind me dear Lord, that it is just a return for what you have given me.

Perhaps during the Lenten season we should stop praying for others as if we were virtuous enough to do so. Perhaps we should take off our righteous robes just long enough during these 40 days to put ashes on our own heads, to come before God with a new humility that is willing to confess, "Lord, be merciful to me, a sinner." Maybe we should be willing to prostrate ourselves before God and plead, "Lord, in my hand no price I bring; simply to the cross I cling." That might put us in a position to hear God in ways that we have not heard Him in a long time. And it may be the beginning of a healing for which we have so longed.

O Lord, begin with me. Here. Now.

Meditation: Genesis 17:3-9

3    Then Abram fell on his face; and God said to him,
4    "Behold, my covenant is with you, and you shall be the father of a multitude of nations.
5    No longer shall your name be Abram, but your name shall be Abraham; for I have made you the father of a multitude of nations.
6    I will make you exceedingly fruitful; and I will make nations of you, and kings shall come forth from you.
7    And I will establish my covenant between me and you and your descendants after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to your descendants after you.
8    And I will give to you, and to your descendants after you, the land of your sojournings, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God."
9    And God said to Abraham, "As for you, you shall keep my covenant, you and your descendants after you throughout their generations.

Lord, forgive those who talk ill and harshly about me, and my friends.
I forgive them, Lord. I will bless them, bless them Lord.

For you, who came down from heaven to earth to be my salvation.
You who endured the weight of the whole word for us.
That I may show some semblance of some of your goodness and graces.

Thank You for saving me, Lord.
Forgive those who talk ill about me, and my friends, Lord.
Let their minds and hearts be at peace.

I ask this, in Jesus' Name.
AMEN.

Judas kept the money bags and that seemed to get him in trouble. Consider your use of money today. Are you overly consumptive? Do you share with the poor?

The Gifts of God
Think of God's gifts in broader terms, not simply the material goods or security you may enjoy.
 These are gifts, too:

    * Your faith, hope, love, and joy
    * Your family love and relationships with others
    * Your intelligence, talents, and skills
    * Your imagination, compassion, and vision
    * Creation in all its splendor

Christ resssurection is the hope of beleivers because we will be ressurected unto eternal life.

The Resurrection is the triumphant and glorious victory for every believer in Jesus Christ who died, was buried, and rose the third day according to the Scripture. And, He is coming again! The dead in Christ will be raised up, and those who remain and are alive at His coming will be changed and receive new, glorified bodies (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18). Why is the resurrection of Jesus Christ important? It demonstrated that God accepted Jesus’ sacrifice on our behalf. It proves that God has the power to raise us from the dead. It guarantees that those who believe in Christ will not remain dead, but will be resurrected unto eternal life. That is our blessed hope

Pray out loud. When your heart is heavy, pour your heart out to God by praying out loud. You might couple this activity with a walk. How well I remember some of those walks when I was a very young believer. It seemed like I had more than my share of problems—feelings of inadequacy, struggles with sin, and fears of failing as a Christian. I would be encouraged with my quiet time in the morning, but by evening I was usually overwhelmed by my lack of faith in God.

Shout In Glory-

When times are tough, and things just are not going according to plans. When despair is knocking on your door. Cast thy fears aside! Do not invite Satan into thy precious soul and heart!

Hark!

PRAISE THE NAME OF THE LORD!
THE FATHER
THE SON
AND THE HOLY SPIRIT!

Praise HIS name with thy lips!
For Almighty God is Worthy of ALL Glories, Honors and Praises.

In Good times, Glorify HIM
In Bad times, Glorify HIM.

Little Church

Since early times the Church has been referred to as a family, and the family has been called the “little church” or “domestic church.” Both communities share similar visions and tasks, responsibilities and benefits.

There Is No Impossibility

Last week we were having some difficulty working on our presentation as regards to immune evasion of Wucheria bancrofti and Brugia malayi on host immune system. 3 days ago, we were able to find a journal acticle regarding our specific question; dealing with our presentation. Our presentation is complete and ready.

The LORD is so good. My simple prayer reached HIS throne. The LORD is good.

There is no impossibility for the LORD.

The church is a family where those adults can come to be fed and nourished, forgiven and reconciled.

Like the church, families hope to provide for our children a place where they can be nurtured and fed, forgiven and reconciled, before they return to their everyday responsibilities.

The Light of the LORD shines through the good mouth of friends.

The kind works, humble words, decent comments from friends and family are that of the Lord.

The goodness of the Lord shines forth everyday. Anyday.

Heed not the harsh tongue and attacks of others. Heed not the wicked words.

As the Lord does not endure the wicked.

The Lord, before anything else.

In these modern times, we sometimes forget the importance of GOD in our lives. Sometimes we put our finances, our studies, our families and ourselves in priority and forget the LORD.

Or forget to offer His praise and thanks to HIM, who is responsible for our daily bread and drink of life. That even when we forget HIM in the conundrum of the hustle and bustle of modern life, he does not forget us. Always, HE is there, ready to listen to our prayers, our problems, our daily strife (whatsoever it may be). And HIS spirit that comes down to comfort us and remedy us, and forgive us.

Don't forget the LORD. Always remember, that GOD is first, and everything comes afterward.

The LORD is good. So very good. :)

Prayer In A Time Of Need

Most Precious Lord Jesus, Gentle and Wonderful God, Truly Awesome and Ever-present Holy Spirit, Precious Lord Jesus, I love you.
Precious Lord, I need you.
So many people within the human race are lost and you are their only way to hope, joy, and peace.
I need you because the ever-present darkness swirls around me consuming souls at every turn.
I need you because I am often helpless and without the power to change the world except by using this wonderful power of prayer.
I need you to bless those who seek you but who do not really know how much you love them.
I need you every second of the day and night to bless others and wrap them in your hands of love.
I have so many people I pray for that need your touch of healing, grace, wisdom, and love.
Please touch them now.
I have family members who need healing.
I have family members who are lost.
Oh, Precious Jesus, we all need you so much today.
All these things I pray in your glorious name, knowing with certainty all the things I pray for will be answered in your will and in your love.
All these things I humbly pray in the name of my most Blessed Lord Jesus Christ, my Mighty God, and my Ever-present Holy Spirit upon whom I can rely.
Amen

A kind heart is a fountain of gladness making everyone around brighten into smiles. May GOD bring back to you all the happiness you've given to others. GOD BLESS!

Dear Jesus, I come to you today
longing for your presence.
I desire to love you as You love me.
May nothing ever separate me from You.

Lord, may I never take the gift
of freedom for granted. You gave
me the great blessing of freedom of
spirit. Fill my spirit with Your peace and
Your joy.

What feelings are rising in me as I pray and reflect on God's Word? I imagine Jesus himself sitting or standing near me and open my heart to him.
