How can we inspire others, the entire world around us, to live a life centered on Christ? How do we convince them to follow the same path we are on? The answer is simple in theory but difficult in execution.

If we want to "rouse one another to love and good works" as the author of Hebrews suggests, then we need to show love and good works. Our words, our actions, the essence of our being should constantly radiate love and good works on the people around us.

People will follow our example. They will see the love that we show to others and the impact it has on our lives, and they will want to do the same. In theory, anyway.

That is why our faith needs to be a 24-7 part of our lives. People will see our love and good works, but they will also see our failings. Often times, they will notice how much we fall short more than the positive impact of our lives in other areas. We definitely live in a society that sees the glass as half empty.

Every moment of every day, we are given the chance to show others love and good works. Inspire the world around you by showing the true impact of Christ on your life. To help the world center itself on Christ, we need to center ourselves on Him first.

We may not realize how odious the parable of the Good Samaritan was to listeners in Jesus day. Notice that when Jesus asks an expert in the law who was the good neighbor, he could not even say the word â€œSamaritanâ€. Samaritans were seen as an impure people, yet as the parable unfolded it was not the priest or the Levite who helped the fallen man, but a person that a Jew would not even talk to. This story not only exposed the prejudices of Jesus day; it also challenges us to look past our judgments of others and extend the same mercy that we have received in Christ.

God desires for all of his children to come back to Him. There may be debate about how this plays out, but the Scripture is clear about Godâ€™s heart. God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son. His love is greater than our wickedness, and His voice still calls to us to turn from our ways and live.
