I did not say that it is rude or offensive, derogatory or rather  insulting to tell a TB member not to use all caps in his/her posting.

The point here is that: a person was already extremely angry re: the ICM raffle hysteria and I just find it not the right timing for an admin to correct him at that time in public. There are always exceptions in a rule di ba?

Hunahunaa ragod kon naay tawo nga naghuramentado nga nagdala ug sundang unya imo pa siya "correctionan" ug ingnon nga "bay sayop nang imong pagkupot sa sundang".

Di ba kon ang atong asawa or bana perting sukoa angay man na nimo papahungawon sa daan sa iyang kalagot usa nimo sultihan ug laing problema? Sa panultihon pa bitaw, ayaw sugnuri ang kalayo nga nagsilaab na. (aw sakto ba ni?) but you got what I mean.

So at that moment I really feel that it was more fitting for that said admin to send a PM to renegade.
and I was simply agreeing to what glacier suggested.

And since many members still dont know about NETiquette (That using all caps means shouting , althought at that moment  he was literally shouting out his anger;-)) I still find it more fitting to "reprimand" or "remind" the TB members who are NOT aware of the TB rules to send them first a PM and if he/she doesnt listen thats the time to make it public.


That is if  we dont want the other "sensitive" TB members to feel offended.
This is just my opinion. BUT yours is the Law and decision since you own TB.

After reviewing the discussion here, I found that there absolutely was nothing offensive, rude or derogatory or insulting when a site admin or anyone posts an open reminder regarding our simple and easy guidelines.

Posting a TubagBohol reminder in public, so long as it is not a personal attack, is encouraged so that those who are not yet aware of a particular guideline would learn from it.

I don't think we should go this far in the discussion when the friendly shortcut of it was just to say "Sorry, I did not know it. Cheers" or "Thanks for the reminder; I was not aware about it. Cheers".

Did you also consider using PM in reminding us Admins that we should PM members in reminding them of their violations to forum rules, Spiderman? Well, I guess not ha?  So then, your suggestion only applies if the Admin is politely reminding members and not the members to the Admins.  But it's okay because first I like you as you are most of the time level-headed and secondly and most importantly, we are open to suggestions and opinions.  Now, if you had your letters in all caps, maybe we'll have to politely ask you not to do such thing for reasons explained in the separate thread started by Mike but you did not so you are good!   :) 

Now, with due respect to you, Spiderman, I totally agree with what Mike said about this issue.

To be honest, I have other issues with renegade's posts and that were the graphic use of violent and derogatory words.  But I've said my piece already in my earlier post so I will leave it at that.

To renegade, you may just had a bad day that day and your emotional outbursts would  not affect my respect to you as a member of TB.

Which one is not a reminder or an instruction?  Let me reiterate though that it's perfectly alright to remind us, or at least to me because I don't want to speak for the other admins.   And if Mike says we should PM each and every reminders to members, well then I will humbly respect that.  And exactly Spiderman, you are not an admin as you said but it's apparent to me you can be a good admin kay you are level-headed and smart and what not.

Why are we implementing certain guidelines on how to type our titles or subjects or why we should avoid many dots, periods, commas, question marks, exclamation points, etc.?

We are doing this so that we can maintain our Tubag Bohol as Google-and-Yahoo-friendly site.

Many websites pay thousands of dollars to SEO (search engine optimization) companies so that their websites would appear on the top 10 of search engine results. We don't do that because we simply can't afford that.

Today if you hire a search engine optimizer, it will cost you as much as $10,000 a year.

Myself a search engine optimizer, I've spent hundreds of hours optimizing Tubag Bohol, so I don't need to pay thousands of dollars to SEOs.

As an example, if you type the phrase bohol orchids in google.com, Tubag Bohol website will come out first. Or if you type the name handel lagunay in google.com, Tubag Bohol comes out second in the rank. Or if you type bohol buy and sale in google, com, we rank no. 7 and 8 in search results. There are many other keywords and phrases that appear no. 1 or top 10 in google.com search ranking results.

There are billions of web pages indexed by Google and Yahoo. If you appear no. 1 in search engine results or even in the top 10, that is something you can smile of at the end of the day (usually dawn time), knowing your sleepless nights have been paid off.

That doesn't stop there. The rank has to be maintained everyday. And search engine optimization is only one of the many works I do for Tubag Bohol.

That's why my heart cries when one of us (as what we've experienced before) abused our site by violating certain guidelines here. They don't have any idea how much efforts and time have been used by all of us to have this site run smoothly in the web universe.

I don't think Tubag Bohol deserves to be abused for we do nothing wrong to anyone in this planet.

I would like to make a petition on-line to say/react and to express our disgust about the conduct of this raffle tickets.  This is not a laughing matter, the disappointment is great.  We have some strategies to express our feelings like faxing our sentiments on a certain time simultaneously for example 8.00 A.M. The office will run out of papers and the fax machine will breakdown. We can send emails with the same procedure. I know that we have members here who works for the A.... group. It would be nice if they just keep themselves silent. Attention Wardiflex and Alfonso Potane at iba pa.
This tactic works, this is practiced by a big organization.
I would like to hear your feedbacks  Mike, Admins and the rest of the members who might sympathize with the exploited customers of ....

Manay, I totally agree with your idea on making a petition to express our disgust to ICM Management for how poorly, for the lack of word, they handled the raffle draw.  But I am just wondering if you think we should hear first the side of ICM as we are only hearing one side of the coin.  I am not doubting renegade on how she reported the incident here but still, I feel it is best to hear the other side.  We can kindly ask Leo aka El Mundo to take the side of ICM or email Bohol Chronicle maybe?  Maybe Mike has a better idea on how to do this.  What do you think, Manay?  However, if you already have validated report that ICM was at fault, then sure we can go ahead. I'd like to go for the email procedure since I do not have a working fax machine here. (hehehe pobre ba oi!) My next question is, if proven that ICM was at fault, how can ICM make it right to the people they caused inconvenience and disappointment?

heavily, heartily. show that we are indeed sincere in asking for an apology.

we can not cut down a tree itself because we happened to see nga nay nalata nga bunga. least we could do is to find a solution. Spreyan ba kaha aron di makatakod ug gasakit ang bunga or ato jud kuhaon na lang.

I have some second thoughts now after reading the first thread 3 times; it is only the schedule which was prematurely done. The question is , was the raffle draw held on that day correct and properly handled? If there were no irregularities on the side of the ICM administration then  our complain would be about the premature schedule.
I think there are legal observers during the raffle draw, were they aware of this? Is this an irregularity in the eyes of the Phil law? 
I know that a representative from a government agency who take a watch on occasions like this, I don´t know the term and the legal technicalities, we need some advise from members who are lawyers in this Forum.

Renegade, pls tell your opinion and pls be objective this time.  Is it okay for the Forum members to use the name of TB and all members, basin adunay moreklamo. We can use  the term concerned group/Bol-anon customers? I need your feedback because I´m outside Bohol.

Anyone who could provide me with the proper name and address, I will make the letter myself and have it posted from Germany, I will print the content here. You can print and fax it to them so they will be aware that there are concerned Bol-anons, local and abroad nga dili mag pa bugal-bugal. Some consumers hoped so much from this contests. If you wish they have suggestion boxes, you can put it there too.
Let us show solidarity with the local Sano/Sana.  Consumers should be respected. If we don´t do it now, there will be more irregularities to come.
