Vina Morales admits she didn’t use to like John Lloyd Cruz for her younger sister, Shaina Magdayao.

“There were many issues kasi about him,” the singer-actress candidly admitted during a media event celebrating the 11th anniversary of Ystilo Salon, the beauty parlor that she and her sister, Sheila, and the latter’s husband, Federico Moreno, started.

Now that John Lloyd has owed up to his once-kept secret relationship with Shaina, Vina has thrown her full support to the blossoming love story. The Magdayao family has welcomed JL into the fold. The actor, in fact, visits them freely and is almost always a fixture in many a family event.

Vina says she didn’t imagine her baby sister was all that strong, considering the many trials she had to go through in the conduct of her relationship with the actor.

That is not to say that the singer-actress herself is made of lesser yarn. Vina’s own love story is just as challenging. A single parent, she has maintained a safe distance from her married boyfriend, claiming that her world presently revolves around her two-year-old daughter, Ceana.
