;D joke btw. just keep cool bisan makalagot huna-huna-on

Dili lang competent, kon dili willing usab to know more how to govern the right way.
Dili lang with character, but maka transform sa iyang kauban to be righteous in their ways.
Dili lang kay with courage (political will), but can also provide the means and motivation to accomplish the goal.
Dili lang kay with compassion, but willing to do self-sacrifice (bahalag dili siya personal mabulahan sa mga proyekto basta mahuman kini sigon sa plano nga maka benepisyo sa katawhan).

makahatag ba kamo sa inyong boto?

Hi Dot!  Na-a pa kaha ing-ani ug kalidad ron? :-\

i will also share an opinion here regarding this incident. do you think that we, the parents, should be blamed if our children will grow up to be a nuisance to the community?

I think not...in normal case, mostly parents do the best for their kids. In other side... there are also some crazy parents who doesn`t care about the whereabouts of their kids. Sad!   It could be more an enviromental/financial  influences (bad friends, depression due to poverty).

Welcome to TB Oceanbreeze!

Never been in Boracay yet.  Last vacation 2005, it was our plan to go there with my 3 sisters but it was too risky to leave a far distance trip our sickly mother, so we had decided to spend our short 4 days holidays in Bantayan island in Cebu.  This year, we will be in Bali.  Next time....we will experience Boracay for sure.  Our good friends were there last Dec. 2009 and they have positive reports (prices, foods and the excellent services).  See you there Ocean!

Makurat bitaw ka to compare the package tour rates of Cebu and Bali, for example. I think the real problem is that we have not reached the critical tourist traffic volume to offer prices for the mass market. There is only one airline plying the Cebu-Narita route six times a week. Airfare alone costs a lot. Add the hotel costs. We still have a long way to go to even catch up with Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia, whose tourist traffic is three times or more. But in terms of the destinations we can offer, I think ours compare favorably.

Mao gjod. Unja ang naka-apan raba Sir Benelynne tungod sa kagamay pa sa mga turista (income nila) maong ilang bawi-on/overpriced na lang sa nag stay-in guests. We were with Mr. junayag in one of the beautiful resorts in Alona just for a sort of rooms/rates inquries, dili man sila lagi fully booked. Am wondering, better have it cheaper a bit and fully booked than no income at all.Mao gagmay ray sweldo ra workers.
One thing we  still have to learn is about a good hotel personnel services is a must, di ba?   You could just imagine....while taking breakfast in Metro Hotel we were only 5 guests and 7 waiters standing around and 2 ladies at the counter ug tungod ba kaha sa kalaay one of them kept on singing but they have a fresh brewed coffee.  In Bohol Tropics is not better with their "flying coffee" (you will be served a nescafe per pack tungod kay hangin2x man usahay...catch it - if you can!). You could never find it somewhere in a class hotels.  :D

Komparar tag Presyo:  Only flight to our own Philippines (economy class) from 780 Euro to over a 1,000 Euro;
Thailand to Koh Samui (very white and beautiful beaches) with flight including  12 overnights, breakfast in a 5 stars hotel category,
             (879 Euro only);
Our Nov. 2010 booked flight to Bali with rail and fly, in a 5 stars hotels  with 13 overnight and breakfast cost only 989 Euro

I only found once in a magazine a special offered flight with hotel to Boracay for 1 week for 1, 768.00 Euro...and besides never I heard any TV advertisement about Philippine tourism kon duna man gani mga negative reports maong mangahadlok na lang pod ning taga Europe (mahadlok ug magidnap napod ni Abu Sayyaf). Sad reality.

It was no use to stay together longer if both parties are not willing to stay as loving couple together.  It is a lot of suffering, purbida kon ang husband alcoholic unya kwarta awayan kada adlaw, maholog ug patay.
Going straight following the catholic path is really thorny, but I´glad I´m divorced and I know that the Lord cares for me.

Filipinos are usually the last to appreciate what they have.

In fact, until 2001, Bohol was a God-forsaken island that was the 7th poorest province in the country, which drove most of its locals to greener pastures within the country and overseas. Now, Bohol is a model province in terms of per capita income and peace and order, and Tagbilaran has been selected by the Asian Institute of Management as the most livable city in the country. We may dispute the merits of these accolades. But everyone agrees that Bohol has really gone a long way now. One of the engines of its growth is tourism--consisting mostly of foreigners who were wowed by our majestic natural endowments. I have a Japanese friend who visits Bohol ten times a year. A diving enthusiast, he used to work for a travel agency and has been to 70 countries, but he tells me that he loves Bohol of all the places he has visited. I am proud of Bohol, but I have never been as generous as this Japanese in giving praises to our islands.

Correct! Bisan ahong bana since year 2000  ka unom na gjod gabalik-balik bisan ug mahal pa kuno kay sa laing Asian tourist countries like Thailand which we had our 2006 holidays. Mas nindot gjod unta ug duna pay mga special promos  (with Flight/Hotel and with breakfast) nga ilang i-offer para sa taga gawas. This this coming November 24, 2010...adto lang una mi sa Bali kay barato ikomparar sa ato.

As always!

Susy: Ikaw ba yung bagong manok dito?

Depatment of Tourism must do something to promote the philippines, they should have ads thru international media like CNN so tourist from other countries will be encourage to come and see our beautiful country.

Exactly! Pero kinahanglan gjod nga ilang baratohon ang presyo (hotel accomodation and improve the necessary services). I was in Thailand for two weeks vacation last 2006 and this coming Nov. 2010 I will spend my 2 weeks vacation in Bali.  5 stars hotels with breakfast is more affordable than in our country.

F A M I L Y

I ran into a stranger as he passed by,
"Oh excuse me please" was my reply.

He said, "Please excuse me too;
I wasn't watching for you."

We were very polite, this stranger and I.
We went on our way and we said goodbye.

But at home a different story is told,
How we treat our loved ones, young and old.

Later that day, cooking the evening meal,
My son stood beside me very still.

When I turned, I nearly knocked him down.
"Move out of the way," I said with a frown.

He walked away, his little heart broken.
I didn't realize how harshly I'd spoken.

While I lay awake in bed,
God's still small voice came to me and said,

"While dealing with a stranger,
common courtesy you use,
but the family you love, you seem to abuse.

Go and look on the kitchen floor,
You'll find some flowers there by the door.

Those are the flowers he brought for you.
He picked them himself: pink, yellow and blue.

He stood very quietly not to spoil the surprise,
you never saw the tears that filled his little eyes."

By this time, I felt very small,
And now my tear s began to fall.

I quietly went and knelt by his bed;
"Wake up, little one, wake up," I said.

"Are these the flowers you picked for me?"
He smiled, "I found 'em, out by the tree.

I picked 'em because they're pretty like you.
I knew you'd like 'em, especially the blue."

I said, "Son, I'm very sorry for the way I acted today;
I shouldn't have yelled at you that way."
He said, "Oh, Mom, that's okay.
I love you anyway."

I said, "Son, I love you too,
and I do like the flowers, especially the blue."

FAMILY
Are you aware that if we died tomorrow, the company
that we are working for could easily replace us in
a matter of days.
But the family we left behind will feel the loss
for the rest of their lives.

And come to think of it, we pour ourselve s more
into work than into our own family,
an unwise investment indeed,
don't you think?
So what is behind the story?

Do you know what the word FAMILY means?
FAMILY = (F)ATHER (A)ND (M)OTHER (I) (L)OVE (Y)OU

thanks Aqua....love it

i have kept the first blue paper flower which my son prepared in kindergarten and had given me on Mother`s day and he tendered a Mother`s song only for me.  he was 3 yrs on that time and the blue paper flower is now 26 yrs in my possession.

Hi to everyone..

I find this website very interesting and friendly, a reflection of a true-blooded Bol-anon. I hope I can find new friends here. Actually, my parents are of Boholano Origin, particularly in the Island of Pangangan town of Calape. First time in my life that I stepped Bohol, when I was in my College years in Cebu. We trooped to Pangangan via Tubigon with my brother and some cousins to attend the Annual Fiesta, August 10. There, my parents from Surigao del Sur annually visited their birthplace/hometown, twas also a coincident that my father's bday falls on August 10... everytime my parents visited Pangangan, my father's siblings have the reasons to have the dual celebration, a birthday and a fiesta in two... We are eleven siblings in the family, five (5) of them were born in Pangangan... due to dire needs, my parents decided to look for a greener pasture in the "Land Of Promise" in 1960 and settled in Diatagon, Lianga, Surigao del Sur... dahil na rin sa kasipagan ng Papa at Mama ko, nadagdagan pa kaming magkakapatid ng anim (6), eight brothers & three sisters.. pang-walo na ako... (parang self-introduction na 'to ah?..hehehe)

Presently, am here in Davao City, a Bank employee dito na rin nakapag-asawa but I always remember Bohol, the place of my forefathers.. the place of my origin.. hope to visit this place again with my family  whom longing to see the place of their lolo and lola.. especially, Pangangan island.. I've miss a lot there, my closest relatives, of course the seafoods.. ang kasag, saliot hehehe daghan pa.. basin kapoyan na mo magbasa... :D

Thanks for the space... I hope I can inter-act with the old-timers here and make some posts/ comments.

AQUARIUS (for sure Ytac)

P.S.  (pakapin sulat) my best regards to Mozo family of Kinabag-an, pangangan.. my boardmates before in Cebu ,to Mary-ann (now in Italy) and her brother Dodong.. I don't know if they're members of this site..

Heartfelt welcome to TB Mr. Aquarius.  I`ve observed that you enjoy posting some interesting topics here.
Pwede ba mo loan sa imong bangko, Sir?  ;)
Our oldest sister was teaching somewhere in Diatagon, Lianga.  Now she is a retiree and resides with her Family in Tagbina, Surigao del Sur (wa pa gjod ko kaanha)

Sunday Post: The Bureau of Immigration, in coordination with the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team of Bohol Police Provincial Office and the Dauis Philippine National Police recently arrested and deported a Japanese national at his conjugal residence in Tabalong, Dauis town.

In an after mission report, it was gathered that the erring foreigner was arrested and subsequently deported for having contracted marriage twice.

He was married to a compatriot but subsequent investigation showed that he also married a Filipina.

The SWAT team was headed by PCInsp Nicomedes Olaivar Jr. while the Dauis PNP team was headed by PInsp Albert Timpac.

The Japanese national identified as Toshiki Sato was arrested after a hearing conducted by the Bureau of Immigration in a deportation case filed against him.  The Immigration Bureau cancelled the Quota Visa of Sato  after he admitted during the hearing that he was penniless even before coming to the Philippines.

A Quota Immigrant Visa is a permanent resident visa which requires the applicant to provide a US$40,000 investment to ensure that the foreigner seeking to live in the country permanently is not a financial burden to the society.

Sato likewise admitted during the hearing that the money he used for the processing of his Quota Visa, and the purchase of the house and lot in Dauis came from his Japanese wife, Tomiko Oki.  Sato was also found to have falsified/misrepresented his civil status in his application for quota visa after he stated that he was single, when in fact he was married.

Sato’s wife, Tomiko Oki, had earlier filed cases against him and one Silvestra Jayectin for concubinage or marriage contracted against provision of law.  In the said cases, Oki accused Sato of marrying his live-in partner, the same Silvestra Jayectin, even if he was still married to his Japenese wife.

She also filed a case for Performance of Illegal Marriage Ceremony against Msgr. Vicente Matias Nunag III whom she accused to have illegally officiated the wedding.

Oki likewise filed a case against Sato for Violation of the Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act (for Marital Infidelity and Economic Violence), and against Sato, Jayectin and lawyer Pablito Grecio A. Magdoza, for Falsification of a Public Document, for forging Oki’s signature as petitioner in an alleged Petition for Nullity of Marriage.

When the arresting team arrived at the vicinity, caretakers Cesario Sumaylo and Benito Jayectin, Silvestra’s brother, refused to open the gates.  The SWAT team was forced to climb over the gates and open them.  Sato was found hiding in one of the rooms in the house.  That same afternoon, Sato was brought to Manila and detained at the Bureau of Immigration Detention Center at Bicutan, Taguig before he was finally deported back to Japan.  Despite the efforts of Sato’s lawyers Mia Manuelita Mascarinas-Green and Dodelon Sabijon, they were not able to prevent the deportation of their client.

The Bureau of Immigration commended the Bohol police for providing a very efficient back-up support in Sato’s arrest. Lawyer Ramon Calubag, head of the Intelligence Division of the Immigration Regional Office said that he was impressed and never saw such precision and speed in the coordination and execution of an arrest mission.

man imbis kay "future neighbors" man unta mi sa Tabalong.  Sayang!

Almost all of us knew what happened to our country during the declaration of Martial Law by President Marcos. I wasn't born yet that time and what I knew about it are all stories from Lolos and Lolas, Uncles and Aunties. Some said Martial Law can do good to our country but others said otherwise. Now it's time for us to vote and give inputs as to why we are against another martial law or why we pro-martial law. There are so many definition of Martial Law from Encyclopedias to Military Law but what is more concise is that military government involving suspension of ordinary law.

A 13-year-old boy who was caught stealing electric cables in their neighborhood died apparently after his mother hit him with a broomstick (walis tambo) on the head.

Police said the boy, Ronald Gonzales, a high school student, died Thursday night at the East Avenue Medical Center where he was brought for treatment.

Police investigation showed Ronald was scolded by his mother Salve Gonzales on Wednesday night after she learned of her son’s misdeed in their neighborhood in Barangay (Village) Commonwealth, Quezon City.

In her anger, investigation showed, the mother also hit Gonzales with the broomstick on the head.

This is sad. What the boy did is a sin enough but what his mother did towards him is unethical. Unsa may punishment sa inahan ani?

Hindi ka naman mukhang artista

Medyo nakaktulong din
Ang hindi mo pagpansin
Pero bakit hindi ko maamin
Na ikaw ay tuluyan nang limutin.

Napakasakit talagang isipin
Na ako’y hindi mo na pinansin
At napakahirap tanggapin

Mas mabait pa at gwapo
Handa pang ipaglaban ako.

Pagod na ako sa kaiisip sa’yo
Kaya po Dios ko
Tulungan N’yo po ako
Na maglaho na s’ya sa isip ko.

Welcome to TB farimz!

colon cleaner kining saging sab-a (hilaw boot ipasabot dili hinog), niluto unya maoy panihapon mga 3-4 ka book. Way laing isagol, dayon inum ug tubig. Very rich in fibers maoy makalimpyo sa tina-i. An african friend told me about this.

Miss Tess, asa man ta kapalit diri ug saging nga sab-a?

hello shy!

welcome to TB.

i think for this budget, you will be hard up to find a beach house.  if you mean per day....than it is okey. than persons are limited to 6 persons in Alona beach.
had  rented before 2007-2008 for 2 weeks a big house (4 rooms with own shower and bathroom) for 30 thousand pesos (you will bring with you from spoon to water and everything what you need. if you like to stay in the City proper of Tagbilaran...please contact junayag, a TB member.  he can help you.

Bohol is getting expensive at the meantime.
