Ladies and Gentlemen,

I highly recommend you read a book entitled "The Gods Will Have Blood"
Its political, historical, thriller; based on the late 18th century on the dawn of the French Revolution.

Hehe isog emotionally pero sa mga ghosts, scaredy-cat.
And o. a MUST READ. Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom
But Lorenzo, the genre I'm into these days (if I have time to read ) are on medical thrillers, wars, detectivs, courtroom dramas, terrorism, life .not on romance na kaayo like Danielle Steele's genre..lol

hahahaha, scared of ghosts eh? boo! lol, jp

Ah, very nice tastes in genre esp. medical thrillers, wars, terror, action. Do you engage in Tom Clancy books?

I have one question for you, Ms. Kiams. If you don't like love-romance genre, then how do you know about Diane Steele? ;) ;) LOL!

Yes, Tuesdays with Morrie was a great book. That book made me cry waterfalls. Ever read Catcher in the Rhye?

The problem with these individuals, these leftist forces, is that they have been ingrained in the idea that the Philippines is a statist nation. They believe that the collective masses believes that this country is in a constant quagmire and one that we cannot get out of. These leftist forces thrive on the idea of constant revolution, constant political discourse. Each rising party claims himself or herself as spotless and rings the bell of political legitimacy; however whenever that party takes power, they too become the subject of popular protest.

A cyclic system that is ultimately debilitating for the Philippines and depressing for the citizens and regional-intraregional trading partners.

Leftist forces don't care for the national good, they care for their own political careers, for their own welfare and the welfare of their support base. This is the problem, the recurring problem, of this country. Arroyo needs to make precedence and hold her ground, so that future administrations can learn from her. She is the President of this Republic, chosen by the people and elected by the people. Mobs and rallying groups DO NOT speak for the entire Filipino Citizenry. Unless there is a general uprising throughout the entire country or a massive people power as that of 86, then, I pray and hope she holds her ground.

This woman is brilliant and knows what she's doing.

What do these men want?
For the President to step down?

And what then? More discourse, revolution, instability, rallies, military coups, instability in the south.

And what will happen to our surging economy?

It will turn cold. Speculations will arise, and confidence on our economy will fall again, the peso will depreciate again, foreign investors will pull back.

We must think about the realities of nation building and the BIGGER picture.
Over 90 million lives are at stake, and one must remember that for a change to manifest, years must pass. Change isn't immediate, but gradual.

I reiterate, I am an Arroyo loyalist.

Ate Belle,

I celebrated Easter with my Mom, my Dad, my Brothers Andre and Don, and my sister Angel.
We visited church, prayed, had a simple dinner, and then departed for college.

I miss My family DEARLY, but I know that through Christ, all will be fine.
The Lord is my sheppard, and he leads me to green pastures. With Him, Always.

God Bless you Ate Belle, and your ENTIRE Family.
May the Lord God walk with you always, and carry you during hard times,
For Nothing is impossible for Him. Amen!

Always,

haha, kuyawa pood. Isug diay ka Kiams because you have the stomach for these kinds of genre. Do you happen to be Waray-Waray or something? lol ;) ;)

But on a serious note tho, I'll take a look at this because I have *some* free time now; I do recommend a book by Tolstoy named "Anna Karenina" to you. The synopsis is about the plight of the woman during the late 19th century, the rise of feminine feelings during the time of the Russian Revolution. Military love, two lovers, the nation state at risk, the people, the state of religion, etc all are in discourse with one another. And one woman's story is documented. Its beautiful.

A macro-micro view of the human persona during times of strife and one's ability to rise up to the challenge.

Cheers,

How about our Sigbin? Does it really exist? It is an undocumented species and would mean big cash for anyone who discover it alive. Anyone?

Interesting, can you elucidate us about this particular study, Mr. Ferniz?

I do like chicken curry, Dong!  I like to use curry powder.  I have this simple chicken recipe that uses flattened chicken breast marinated with lots of garlic and curry powder and lemon juice with the zest.  Just warm a little olive oil in the skillet, pan fry the marinated chicken without putting the marinade.  Once brown on both sides, add the marinade, stir until cooked and add salt and pepper to taste.   eat with chapati or just rice and that's good!

haha lami! tongue enticing jud.

My friend Awtar helped me cook Rajasthani-style chicken tikka masala before, ang style kai different sa bihari or southern indian chicken curry kai dili kaayo spicy ang Rajasthani style chicken tikka masala.

They do use alot of white plain yogurt, and orange curry. Perting lami kaayo, the style he uses is only yogurt; but when I cook it I add a can or two of coconut milk with the yogurt so it puts a balance. He likes to add sugar, but I like to ad a dash of salt and black pepper.

I serve my chicken tikka masala with white rice, pero Awtar eats his with nan (flat bread). Lami baya ilang style, kai very intricate.

OMG, it is the best! At first i was hesitant on drinking it, but I did try it and its so good. Its not deathly sweet, but you it does have a natural sweetness to it, the consistency of lamb milk is very thick, it naturally has a aromatic smell to it.

Its perfect whenever eating spicy dishes, lol.

The prepared a plate filled with basil, black pepper, spices and filled with olive oil.

Northern Luzon was  considered the unconquered lands by the Spanish Conquistadores.
Try as they might, every legion that was raised, every native war party they hired to bid their will in conquering the Kingdoms of the Ifugao peoples, all failed.

The Ifugao, the living remnant of the ancient proto-malay race (these people are the first asiatic mongoloids to cross the frigid temperatures of siberia, of northern china, down the valleys of south east asia, and crossed the land bridge that once connected south east asia eons upon eons ago. Till they arrived in what is now present day Luzon. These Ifugao displaced the negritos, and with their dog willed determination, claimed overlordship of these lands).

The Ifugao people were alive in the days of the wooly mammoth, the siberian saber tooth tigers, the giant sloths, the giant birds. The Ifugao were hunters and nomads, and for eons upon eons, they survived on the meat of these great beasts. Until, they mastered agriculture and sedentiary farming. They are as Ancient as the islands of the Philippines. They are the Masters of these Islands.

They are an indomitable people. They have survived and retained their ancient forms of culture that goes over 5 thousand years. Before the Pharaohs of Egypt built the pyramids of Egypt, before Christ Jesus was born in Judea, before the Chinese Empire was even concieved, these humble, yet determined Malay peoples already carved these terraces.

Defying the test of time. They have survived the waves of Spaniards, of Americans, of Japanese, and even the present day secular Filipino.

They are the link to our past. An ancient and proud people. Humility and survival is in their blood.

Bible Study / Re: Death and Dying- Your views?
March 23, 2008, 01:11:22 PM
Words cannot describe the feelings of such a loss, and I am deeply sorry for those who were affected jud, 'te. It is always a hard thing to deal with whenever a loved one, either they are friends or family, is lost.

It is irreparable. And the only things we have are memories and pictures, which help to comfort us.

You know, there are times that I question my faith. And it isn't the type of questioning where I just question scripture and what not, but it is the type where I question the trueness and purity of faith. Specially whenever one thinks about death and affected by the loss of a loved one. However, I take comfort in the faith of others and those who went before me to strengthen my own faith. I take comfort that there really is a resurrection and salvation after this journey we call life. Countless numbers of our brothers and sisters have gone to their eternal rest in hope of rising again, in seeing another rising sun; life and an awakening beyond the grave.

Contemplation of this envigorates me and my faith. That there Is a life after death. That death and mourning isn't just a feeling for those who lost a loved one. Death is the end of this life, and the beginning of another. Something that we all must go through. Each passing day, each hour, we come closer to our eternal rest in this earthly pilgrimage.

Whether we accept or deny this is up to the individual. To believe or not believe is up to the individual.

But imagine, what one will feel after the moment of death, after the moment of physical death, one's eyes are opened again. Not physical eyes, but the eyes of the spirit. That, my friends, is something we must look forward to.
To mourn is natural and part of life, but for those who are truly afflicted and suffering, take comfort that there will be a sunrise after our sunset.

And God will wipe every tear from their eyes.
Rev. 7:17

No machine was used to carve mountain sides to flat plains for rice. Rock, stone, and dirt were removed.
It was raw, and pure man power, and a rugged determination to survive that drove our ancient forefathers to do this.
No temple, building, ship, or decorations can compare this kind of impact.

To change nature itself to suite the needs of man

Another world leader that I admire. One, for his oratory skills in rallying the populace to be his vanguard. Second, for his brilliance in military tactics; conquering most of continental Europe in the Spirit of French Revolutionary Discourse. Third, for his broad-minded and long termed goal in producing and creating a 'Unified Europe' during a time when regionalism, feudalism, pragmatism was still raw in some parts of Europe. When the time of ancient and backwards total autocratic authoritarianism ruled the day. He dreamt of a Republican system for a Unified French Europe.

Yes, I speak of the man by the name of Napoleon Bonaparte.

His legacy, his brilliance, and his history precedes him.

I've always been a supporter of Arroyo. She's a strong willed woman and it is a leader like Arroyo that can make this republic work. This nation needs a serious leader, one who will not be afraid to use force when necessary. This country is regionalistic, with very biased points of views depending on provincial geography. In order to succeed in the helm of Presidency, a man or woman must be tough skinned to dish out all the insults of opposition, yet focused enough to keep eyes on the bigger picture. The prosperity and the stability of this republic.

Arroyo has brought unheard of economic prosperity to the Philippines since the days of early Marcosian years.

The Philippine economy is 'Hot', jobs are coming in, thousands of foreign employers are looking to the Philippines again as a competitive player in the world market. Our service sector is growing; Arroyo has done her share of catapulting the Philippines in the world stage and sold the image of our country as a worthy, aggressive, and educated people.

There is a saying ushered by Voltaire, a great European Enlightenment Thinker, that speaks for me, "Excessive revolution is unhealthy for a republic."

This is my best friend Joyce. She used to be my officemate when I was still working in Cebu years ago. A mom of three. She is tough, kind, values true friendship and very thoughtful. A friend who I never thought would stand beside me ready to pull me up and consistently reminds me that I have to be grateful no matter how unfair life is, to battle with it and to remain strong....For so many years our friendship had gone so much stronger and I'm so proud and lucky to have her in my Life...We both are a witness to so much misery, laughters and tears, losing and winning...Yet despite the odds, we continue to bloom and survive...

Joyce is fighting the big C but despite of all she still show gratefulness in everything around her. And every time we talk about her illness she would end up saying - "It just feels so Great to Be Alive!! I wonder why others refuse to enjoy it and love it...I Do and I will hang on no matter what".

P.S. The pic was taken during her 31st birthday, right after her 4th chemotherapy.

Ate,

Your friend Joyce is in my prayers. I am so sorry that she has to suffer this ailment, Blessings to her for being so strong in her battle against cancer. Blessings to her children and her family who have to be strong for her. I pray that the Lord bless her with more years that her battle with cancer will be for the better. And I pray for you, 'te, to be strong for your friend and for the pain that you are going through right now that your friend is in.

My prayers are with you guys. Be strong, and as what Joyce tells us, "Be glad to be alive!" Amen!
Give her my regards.

Beautiful ni, 'te.

Yes, Happy Easter to You and to Everyone.

May the Lord Have Mercy on Us All.
Forget not us O Lord,
You are our Strength, Our Light when all is dark, Our staff when the road is slippery, Our path when all around us is nothing but jagged rocks. You are the Way, the Life, and the Resurrection. Lord, May we someday join family members who have gone before us in death. Raise us, O Lord, from the dead. Have Mercy on All of Us, O Lord.

For Thine is the Power and Glory. Now And Forever.

This We Pray Through Christ Jesus Our Lord and Saviour.

AMEN

Lyrics

Were you there when they crucified my Lord ?
Were you there when they crucified my Lord ?
Oh, sometimes it causes me to tremble, tremble, tremble
Were you there when they crucified my Lord ? Were you there when they nailed him to the tree ?
Were you there when they nailed him to the tree ?
Oh, sometimes it causes me to tremble, tremble, tremble
Were you there when they nailed him to the tree ?

Were you there when they pierced him in the side ?
Were you there when they pierced him in the side ?
Oh, sometimes it causes me to tremble, tremble, tremble
Were you there when they pierced him in the side ?

Were you there when they laid him in the tomb ?
Were you there when they laid him in the tomb ?
Oh, sometimes it causes me to tremble, tremble, tremble
Were you there when they laid him in the tomb ?

Bible Study / Our Lord Rises, Salvation
March 23, 2008, 07:49:06 AM
But God raised Him up again, putting an end to the agony of death, since it was impossible for Him to be held in its power.
Acts 2:24

Christ is risen, Alleluia. He is truly risen, Alleluia. The Lord is risen from the grave, Alleluia.  Who hung upon the Cross for us, Alleluia!

Let us pray. O God, through Thine only-begotten Son Thou hast overcome death on this day and hast opened unto us the gate of everlasting life; pursue with Thine aid the good resolves Thou hast inspired, and by Thy constant help make them lastingly effective. Through the same Jesus Christ, Thy Son, who is living and reigning forever and ever. Alleluia, Alleluia.

Sing praise to our Lord, for He is gracious, it is fitting to praise Him. Sing to the Lord with thanksgiving; sing praise with the harp to our God, Who covers the heavens with clouds, who provides rain for the earth; Who makes grain sprout on the mountains and herbs for the service of men; Who gives food to the cattle, and to the young ravens when they cry to In the strength of the steed He delights not, nor is He pleased with the fleshness of men. The Lord is pleased with those who fear Him, and with those who hope for His kindness.

Now when the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalen And Mary, the mother of Jesus, and Salome bought sweet spices that coming they might anoint Jesus. And very early in the morning, the first day of the week, they came to the sepulchre, the sun being now risen. And they said to one another: Who shall roll us back the stone from the door of the sepulchre? And looking they saw the stone rolled back, for it was very great. And entering into the sepulchre they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed with a white robe; and they were astonished. Who saith to them: Be not affrighted. You seek Jesus of Nazareth who was crucified. He is risen! He is not here! Behold the place where they laid Him. But go tell His disciples, and Peter, that He goes before you into Galilee where you shall see him, as He told you. (Mark 16:1-7)

Amen
