Aber, mao man na ilang choosing, it is their sacred sacramental ordainment. Ilang kasingkasing naa man sa cloth us sa serbisyo para sa Ginoo. Kinsa ma wala yamo ug sala? Wa jamo.

Ang mga pari, innately human man pood na sila. Despite their sacred sacramental orders and the holy life they live, they will, like any of us, be target of temptation and all the vices that fallen man is innately blighted with.

Ang sityuwasyon ani, imbes kita mo poke fun nila o mo criticize nila, mo ampo ta para nila. Kai kinsa man ang tawo ninyo mo sacrifice totally as in the case of priestly ordainment.

Instead of giving respect and appreciation of priestly ministry, some of us give temptation to a priest.
There is an inconsistency within the society regarding priests and priestly ministry.

It is a dichotomy that I will point out.

1. Individuals, men and women of faith or those of the agnostic helm, will claim that priests and men / women who take up the cross of the royal priesthood are stricken with sin and vince; pointing out negative situation after situation committed by some priests.

2. Yet at the same time, we expect these men of the cloth to live a totally sinless life and ostracize them after any incident regarding sexual misconduct (homosexual or heterosexual). Pero kita galing, we are individually and universally all prone to sin and prone to harm one another by physical act or by word and in mind.

Hyporcisy , in my opinion. It is an example of a Pharaiscal tendency of some individuals.

In regards to the original poster.
Dili man sila angeles, dili man sila spirit, but are men of the flesh, albeit with holy orders, but are still susceptible to commit sin, like any of us.
Be understanding of the priest's situation. His faith, his sacred oath to God to serve HIM totally and fully. As a priest, he is by sacramental rite, a brid of CHRIST. And belongs to God and to God alone.

Inday, you have an infatuation for the priest, not love.
This is not love.

Health and Food / Re: My HUMBA Recipe

Here's my version of humba.  Actually this is from my email to jamo2x kay nag ask man sya ug recipe ani adtong mid July. I copy ko na lang aron madali.  :D

-0-0-0-0-0-0-0

pork legs, let say about 3 to 4 pcs. or about 7 to 10 lbs., sliced
soy sauce, 1/4 cup
garlic, 5 ka dagko jamo'ng piraso (or 10!)
bay leaves - 4 leaves
corn pepper (i think we call this pamenta), ground and whole
vinegar or suka, 1/4 cup (ingon sa akong mommy lahi ang suka sa vinegar kay ang suka gikan sa tuba.  ayaw supak!)
add a hint of lemon juice just to be cool.

brown sugar, about 2 table spoons
red wine, about 1 to 2 cups (optional)
pork or beef broth or just plain water
pork cubes
cooking oil

now let's get cookin' but first let's prep the meat.  the night before or at least 6 hours, marinate pork legs with the first 7 ingredients.

once ready to cook, in a huge pot, depending on the amount of meat you are gonna cook (kadaghan ba'g adlib oi!), of course, heat the cooking oil.  once starting to smoke, add brown sugar and keep stirring to avoid the sugar from burning.  you just want to caramelize the sugar, not make tira-tira out of it! hehehe  so padayon ta.  once the sugar is caramelized, add the meat excluding the marinade, though you have to reserve it.  brown the meat and then add the marinade, and the rest of the ingredients.  bana-banaa lang imong liquid igo lang ma cover.  imong lat-an or if you have pressure cooker, mas dali but the conventional cooking method is just fine, even better daw.  season to taste with salt and maybe more pepper.  if you use pork cubes, you may add too.  there's a pork cube called Herbox  that has no MSG. (consider that as a comercial break nang Herbox! hehehe).  Keep cooking until most of the liquid is reduced and that it looks like the humba served in fiestas in Bohol.  Check if you need to add vinegar or other seasoning like salt and pepper.

Optional:  you may want to add whole boiled eggs and friend bananas.  Add the fried bananas towards the end kay aron di malata pero kon sab-a imong gamit, hala at the middle of cooking kay di na dali-dali malata. You may also add black beans which I highly recommend.  If you are adding black beans, go easy on the salt and soy sauce because canned black beans are really salty.

That's it!  Serve hot with nilung-ag na rice.

sige sibat nako kay adto pa ko sa akong serbisyo publiko sa simbahan.

should you have questions, ask lang mo.

O man! Thanks!

I let my gf read a great book:

"Surgeons Don't Cry" which was given to me by a great friend.

The effect: My gf loved it and is inspired by Dr. Ting Tiongco.

So far, 4 Pinoy-American medical students have read it. My friend Job, Albert, my gf and I.

Very inspiring work. Beautiful. Simply beautiful.

Welfare State na ba diay ta? dili pa oi.

About the question if it's right depende ni sa individual.Pero under his health care bill They will force the Citizens to Purchase Health care plan. This bill requires all individual to have health care coverage whether it be through private insurance or government plan. Maayo ni pugson na jud tanan. Di na unya mo reason ning uban nga di ka afford ug insurance kay ug mag gahi gahi naay fines or imprisonment. Ok ko ani aron patas tanan.

Increased Power of the IRS as Health Care Enforcer..IRS would wield even more power and extend it's reach even further into lives of ordinary Americans, and the presidentially-appointed head of the new health care have access to confidential information about millions of individual taxpayer. Sa uban intrusion na ni.
Ani nga plan insurers are required to submit to the IRS taxpayer outside income.Mao ni mga sideline nimo.Dapat mo match jud imong gi submit sa IRS kay ug dili na IRS nay mahibawo nimo. Fines siguro nga dako or priso napud .Aning paagiha wa nay makapanlimbong.Maayo siguro ni.

Under this plan is to Authorize Medicare to pay doctors for providing advice to patients on end of life care.In other words a doctor explain to sick, tired, demoralized grandma/pa that she had the option of ending her life through doctor assisted suicide. Ok pud ni nga sideline sa doctor dagway laway ray puhunan heheheh.

Ani pud nga Bill ug dili ka magmenyo live in live sa raman murag beneficial kay example you earn 25,000  a year unya imo ka live in sad 25,000 so 50,000 inyo duha. So kay mandatory man ang pagbuy ug insurance ilang bayran nga premium is 3,000 ra kapin. But if the couples get married and has the same combine income of 50,000 ,they will pay annual premiums up to cap of 5,000 plus. Mao ni giingon ug ang kaminyoon naay penalty hehhehe.Marriage penalty.

Ani pud nga plan naay Home Visitation Program for Children by Federal Agent.

This is absolutely not what the United States stands for, this is the total deviation on the original dream and plan of our founding fathers. America and the Dream of America was made manifest after the tyranny of British sovereignty and unlawful excessive taxation without representation. We fought against 'Large Government' time and time again. Even in The mid 19th century, the American people were against the concept of a National Bank, which was hammered into submission by the Jacksonian Administration. Against the auspices of Clay et al. The individuality of American capitalism, is the very source of our success throughout the centuries was manifested in what Alexander Hamilton termed as, "The American Commerce"--referring to the American worker and the businesses that have the right to grow without the intrusive hands of a large government (referring to the evils of the old British taxation system on growing industries).  The United States is becoming a large-government body. Government is growing too strong; there must be an equal balance between Federal Authority and individual States Rights; namely, citizens' individual rights.

Government should not be telling me how I spend my money regarding patient care, government has no right to access my medical files and that of my patients' files (the Obama care wants this to be implemented, and is a total violation of AMA policies, to begin with). Government has no right to tell me what insurance care provider I can take. I, as a TAX-PAYING AMERICAN CITIZEN, and any other law-abiding American Citizen has the right to live, and choose how to live and how to spend their money.

It is the CONCEPT that I am stressing.
:)

Simple. Direct. Realistic.

General Topic / Re: Is Obama right about the health care?
February 05, 2010, 11:50:27 AM
Actually, if you all have read into Obama's health care policy, it is rather oblique in its policy and implementation. Its 900+ pages of pure bullshittt. His policy, is left wing liberalist.

If it were to be implemented, we would have a medical situation.

How? It proposes to drastically cover an additional 40-50 million more Americans in the already limited medicare system. How can it afford to cover an additional 40+ million when the funds for the said system is already depleting; and if implemented would result in a drastic raising of taxes. American people are the most stubborn individuals regarding tax hikes/ we all know the result of local politicians if they raise taxes.

Again, theory and practice are different.

And its policy forces Americans to have a health care provider via government ordinance, else be subject to excessive fines.
Interesting. But the core problem here, OBAMA, is that many Americans cannot , in the first place, afford medical health care insurace to begin with.

Second. Resources. We are already strained to begin with regarding medical professionals. We simply do not have enough PCPs/ specialists/ nursing staff in many of the states. Some hospitals are understaffed of physicians and nurses.

And the root to this problem is the fact that we are not graduating enough doctors or / are making it too difficult for foreign medical grads to come to the united states. Obama has failed to address this root problem. How can we be expected to address and additional 40-50  million more patients with a faulty medicare system (which will buckle in time) when we are already understaffed to begin with? In engineering terms pa ni, we have a give limited resources to solve a problem. If we further increase work demand while maintaining said resource cap, the time in solving the problem will be increased.
Or in business terms. We have assets, which is the total owner's equity plus liabilities. In this situation, we are raising liabilities and maintain owner equity. As net result, the assets would have to rise, right? But in this case, it cannot since staff is already limited. And laws that have set in place the medical boards and the medical licensing system takes years and will take an additional year(s) to be ammended, if not at all!

This is a problem that cannot be fixed the next day. We have a pluripotent situation. We need doctors, but it must be understood that it takes YEARS to train doctors. And it takes MORE medical institutions to address the demand situation. So.
We need to build more medical schools. Apply and implement MORE financial rewards for medical students/ physicians to enter the field.

Obama fails to address the AMA's pleas to limit and put a cap on medical malpractice lawsuits.
He expects us, THE MEDICAL COMMUNITY, to give our heart and soul and take pay cuts, and work longer hours, but at the same time, he will not curve the malicious and voracious lawsuits and medical malpractice sharks out there (no offense to lawyers and law students).

The environment for growth should also cater to the needs of the medical student population/ physician population.

It is simple Laissez Faire.

I am being realistic. If he wants to solve the situation; and wants his policies to work; he should at least address and lift the immigration quota laws for foreign medical grads (medical, nursing, therapy, etc).

America is a wellfare state. The fact that we retain the welfare system is testament to the pleomorphicity of the politics of the day. Welfare was enacted by the Great-Depression Administration of Franklin Delano Roosevelt as part of his New Deal Policy in the late 1930s. It has, interestingly, been retained ever since. It was enacted only after the Great Depression. It should be phased out.

I am and will always be a proponent of Free Market Capitalism.

Ning ingoon si Ahmad, another medical intern (4th year intern), to me: "Al, why is it that the nurses are so nice to you?"

I replied to him with a smile. "Well, because, Ahmad, because I don't talk disrepectfully to them as you do. You talk and you walk as if you have a pole up your a$$. Just because they are nurses does not mean that they know less than you, nor are they stupid as what you perceive them to be."

He did not reply, shocked at how direct I was.

I then proceeded, "Many of those nurses are Filipinos. I am also a Filipino. Hence they treat me with care; that and I show respect to the older ones. Its' a Filipino thing where we show respect to the elders, even if I am higher in rank and in educational training."

Kining mga muslim/arab physicians are very arrogant to the extreme. Even when they are wrong, and are corrected by the veteran ICU/ER nurses, dili jud sila mo listen. WRONG WRONG!

Aber, they don't even know that some of the Pinoy nurses were trained DOCTORS in the Philippines! LOL!

Work started 8am till 4pm.
Drove home, made dinner, talked for a bit to babs, then back to reviewing for tomorrow napood.

Ah, the life of a medical intern.

I still need to redecorate my new apartment. It still looks quite bare.

On a side note, i think when i am finished, I'd like to buy real estate. 2 apartment buildings.

To the OP:

Be strong and fight / resist this temptation.

You are being tested.

Ephesians 6:10,13In conclusion be strong--not in yourselves but in the Lord, in the power of his boundless strength. Put on God's complete armor so that you can successfully resist all the devil's craftiness... that you may be able to resist evil in its day of power, and that even when you have fought to a standstill you may still stand your ground.

That said, friend, find strength and consolation in the Power of Jesus Christ.
Defeat the devil satan in this spiritual warfare that you are waging.
Strength in Jesus Christ:

Hebrews 2:18 By virtue of his own suffering under temptation he is able to help those who are exposed to temptation.

That time of year thou mayst in me behold
When yellow leaves, or none, or few, do hang
Upon those boughs which shake against the cold,
Bare ruin’d choirs, where late the sweet birds sang.
In me thou see’st the twilight of such day
As after sunset fadeth in the west;
Which by and by black night doth take away,
Death’s second self, that seals up all in rest.
In me thou see’st the glowing of such fire,
That on the ashes of his youth doth lie,
As the death-bed, whereon it must expire,
Consum’d with that which it was nourish’d by.
This thou perceiv’st, which makes thy love more strong,
To love that well, which thou must leave ere long.

Love knows no race or ethnicity, btw. I stand with this.

As a child I grew up in the 'states, and being thrust into an amalgamated society, particularly here in Southern New Jersey where the demographic is predominantly white-caucasian. The numerous amount of Italians, Irish, English, Dutch, German peoples. In my attendance throughout elementary, middle, high school and college were laden with relationships and friendships with peoples of different races. White, Latino, Black etc. Ive dated mostly white women in my early adult life: ranging from 2 really long relationships and numerous short-term dating relationships. I never really thought of Filipina women as much since they were so minimal and few in my area. But in the back of my mind, I always knew that somehow I would have liked to have a relationship with a Filipina. For a dichotomy of reasons:
1) Culturally important: would provide a solid foundation for my children to grow up knowing their identity and their background..that deep down inside..they were Filipino.
2 The other was for the familial and filial similarities that Filipinos share; the universalist traits that we do share despite our regional differences.

In my 2nd year of medicine, I met a very beautiful woman, whose intellect and grace compares to no other. And to my surprise we shared so many (its rather amazing how similar we are) interests, likes, passions, goals in life. Culturally we are both Filipino-Americans, and have been raised in the tongue of our ancestral upbringing yet engrossed in the education and the culture of America. The beauty of the transpiration of culture in that we both know we are Americans, yet are of linear stock to the Philippines. Americans of Filipino ancestry, as the colloquial saying goes, "An egg, but laden with the roots of the hen house."

Personally tho, wala jud maka compare to the Filipina. There is no beauty that compares, no voice as soft as hers, no soft touch as didactic as a Filipina that arouses the virility of her lover. There is no brutal honesty as compared to the Filipina, who comes from good stock. Her religiosity and her faith proceeds her, her ambition in life is perfected in her humble faith in the Lord God. All this sing testament to the unique beauty and incomparability of the Filipina.
Nothing compares, Jyud.

Or in Illongo, "Wala mocompare Gid."

Finding beauty in simplicity. Being able to talk to individuals in all manners of life. Finding beauty in the sweet simple pleasures of farming a basak, hearing stories of bankas, the different tastes of tuba, the beauty of kinilaw and its proper preparation. The delicacy of Binol-anon style Sinugba.

The priviledge of reading M. Ligalig's balaks, which have been the stimulus in my own learning of more Bol-anon Binisaya.

Reading the poetic verses from Misty, Glacier's bol-anon rap, Koddi Prudente's wisdom, Mr. Benne's linguistic style and ethereal flow in word choices, the humility and ever-present kindness of Ate Ging, the familial friendliness of Pareng Bambina, the virility of member growth.

Seeing and interacting with the religiosity of the Bolanon, his devotion to his GOD and his community.

Seeing the truth in the saying:

"Buutan gyud ang Bol-anon."

Tinuud bitaw, for the most part, buutan bitaw ang Bol-anon.
Sobrang buutan, Sobrang Maginoo at Sobrang makapamilya.

My heart calls and yearns for yours,
As you said to me in our last meeting,

'I love you so much, Lorenzo, i have never felt deeply for a man as I feel for you. I cannot wait till I carry your name."

Woman.
My heart of hearts,
Your lover speaks to you through his eyes,
Your lover yearns for you in heart, in mind, and in body.
Continue to love me, my Love.
Yearn for me, let the fire of love continue to burn,
for sweet it is, sweetest flower of my eyes, to have the simple pleasure of:
To Love and Be Loved In Return.

As much as you love me, my sweetest darling,
I love you even more.

I thirst for thee.

I long for you
my distant heart,
rueing each mile
that keeps us apart.

My gems, my spoils,
my most sought prize
lies in your touch
and in your eyes.

And the only thing
that appeases me
are thoughts of you
and what will be.

For the season ahead
promises fair weather
where our loving hearts
reside together.

And I can bear this
yearning and sorrow
when your heart's with mine
on the breast of tomorrow.

Until then I'll keep
these dreams of you
warm in a heart that's
loyal and true.

Yours Eternally,

Though I can somehow relate a little bit with you on what it is like having a relationship with an older person...my past girl-friends were older than I was. Thought the largest gap was the one where my girlfriend was 8 years older than I was, and that was one of the best relationships I ever had, though it was also the second most painful too... :(

I can relate with this, Zec.
Most of the women that I've dated were older than I. The oldest woman that I've dated a medical resident a couple of years back. I was doing an internship in OCPM (Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine) in Cleveland, Ohio. We dated for about 2 weeks. She was over 10 years my senior. he he he.

She was a very beautiful woman, she was in her mid 30s (at the time), very sophisticated taste. Brunette, with very long legs and had the keen interest in wearing professional high heels in every attire she wore; which was complemented with firm-fitting dresses and then suited in her medical white coat. Her name was: Dr. ______________.

What started as a lecture/discussion between the two of us ended up as dinner then a 2-week dating relationship (which lasted throughout the internship in Cleveland Clinic.)

She was very sophosticated. She was a podiatric surgeon; she was one of the attending physicians in Cleveland Foot Clinic. On our many dates, we went to wine bars, jazz clubs, and very nice/expensive restaurants. In our dates, she never once wanted me to pay, and was intimated at first. She bluntly told me, "I'm the doctor, you're just a student. Don't even try." ha ha!
She drove a very nice Mercedes S-550. Absolutely sweet ride.

And she smelled of lavender and Gucci perfume. Her dazzling green eyes accented her outfits. Her lips were soft and succulent as a ripe pomegranate. Tasted like peaches. he he .  Beautiful woman.

To this day, we remain good friends.

Age gap should not matter. If there is love between a man and woman..okay ra na.
So long as it is within legal grounds.

Love knows no color, age, nor ethnicity/race.

So long as both parties love each other. For love manifests the following: respect, honesty, loyalty, dedication, trust.

Ms. Me, Me, Me

This personality type quickly steers any conversation back to her own ongoing personal dramas. Not only is this habit annoying, it breaks a basic rule of etiquette. “Being a good conversationalist really is all about asking the other person things about him or herself,” Whitmore notes. However, in this case, you should probably suspend that rule of thumb and cease asking questions about the other person once the conversation starts to feel boringly one-sided. “If you’re really good friends, you can steal a line from Bette Midler and jokingly say, ‘Enough about you. Let’s talk about me!’” Gottsman says. With others, you might try, “Nice chatting with youâ€"next time remind me to fill you in on some of the things I’ve been up to!”
-source: womansday.com

A good friend listens to the ravings and rants of his fellow associates, but a discerned man should be able to ignore the complaints of the typical pessimist. The pessimist disguises his selfish nature in degrading everyone around him/her to satiate his/her own failings in life.

Best to avoid these kinds of individuals. The typical selfish individual is one who gossips and spreads false rumors.

Wicked ning mga tawhana. They would rather see the failings and suffering of others to justify their very existence.

Love Talk / Brutal Honesty In Relationships
January 31, 2010, 02:15:48 AM
In my personal opinion, the Love two people have for each other in a relationship is manifested in the presence of 3 factors:
A) Loyalty
B) Devotion
C) Honesty

Integral to this is honesty. Brutal Honesty is sometimes a bit blunt, but necessitated in that it manifests Truth.
Sweetness to the soul, to the mind, and to the body.

Anyone can infer their own opinions and personal experiences.

Let Love reign in our hearts.
IN Christ Jesus.
Amen.

I had a gf who was very touchy touchy; quick to hit when I said something, and her incessant pinching. Rather annoying, I must say.

When I ended our relationship (this was back in 2007), she violated my space, yet again, by throwing all of my clothes on the floor and took the silk boxers that she gave me. ha, crazy woman.

She was too much for me, imho. Excessively compulsive and visciously jealous. If I talked to another girl in class, she would shout at me in our apartment, and would falsely accuse me of 'not being honest', when in fact, all these were in her own head.

Hadlukon.

When I ended our relationship, back in 2007, he eyes widened and at first did not take me seriously.
But I walked out on her. Then she went psycho. yikes!

The truest of friends will always be there for you; and if not in person, there for you in support of mind. They are not jealous, but want in fact, the Very opposite, they want you to be happy.

And then, there is the absolute ultimate of True friends, 'for, No Greater Love is there than this; than he or she that will lay down their lives for their friend.'

Absolutely beautiful definition of a friend. Sweet and Sweet. The best friend and support that everyone has is in Christ the King. He who is merciful to listen, and mighty to save. He who can move mountains in your life. For if you live in Him, He reigns and lives within you.

"The best love is the kind that awakens the soul and makes us reach for more, that plants a fire in our hearts and brings peace to our minds and that's what you've given me."

"I am nothing special; just a common man with common thoughts, and I've led a common life. There are no monuments dedicated to me, and my name will soon be forgotten. But in one respect I have succeeded as gloriously as anyone who's ever lived: I've loved another with all my heart and soul and to me, this has always been enough."

A woman who purchased for me a rosary to put in my car so that I would be reminded who is THE LORD YOUR GOD when I drive to work/studies.

A woman who fears the LORD GOD is a woman indeed worthy of total love. :)

A woman who reminds a man to pray at night, who reminds her lover and inspires her lover to do the rosary again. A woman who stands for principle and defends what is right and the Truth despite objections from the wicked of heart.

Beauty, indeed. A diamond in the rough.

Ma'am States,
I agree with that statement.
A virtuous woman, indeed, is a blessing and would probably make a good wife.
Not just a wife, but also a mother, partner, lover, physician, and overall everything...by HIS Grace.

Dearest Lola Nating,

Lola, we do truly miss you. Your nephew Andre looks so much to your pictures and asks us, "Kuya who is this woman who looks very Chinese?" and I must reply, "Andre, that is your Lola Nating. And yes, she was Chinese! Her family came from Guangzhou, China before they immigrated to Philippines."

Lola, your nephew looks most like you. Ininsik kaayo iyang beauty. How he adores you and asks questions about you all the time. How I wish you were still alive so he could see you and talk to you face to face and talk to him still.

Lola, kaibao ka..hilig kaayo si Andre mo use ang chopstick ug hilig mo kaon sa noodles ug sabaw. Mo joke joke pood ko, "Andre you eat like you're Chinese! hehehe" And he smiles pood. He is learning raba some Cantonese words.

Sige, Lola. I miss you. We miss you.
I wanted to tell you this. So I wrote it in a letter na lang.

YOUR APO,

Really, 'te? The smell of Johnson's Baby Cologne, I can still remember my yayas applying that on me and my sister when we were still kids. Right before we went to church. When I smell that scent, I can still see them combing our hair, and applying johnson's baby colongne on my baby sister and I. Old memories.

For me, I wear different kinds of colognes. Different brands.
But my favorite is: Bulgari Black and Burberry Touch.

hehehe!
Especially, ma'am, when one is sitting down and listening to smooth jazz as it rains lightly at night.
