I understand how you feel about it Azlie. I have a brother too who works in a cargo ship. It's really tough every time he'll his situation during navigation. But I am happy and proud of him of his faith to God.

My prayers for your brother too. You take care too :)

Thank for understanding my plight right now,i know he is down with his faith and trust so a little console from a stranger is a big boast to him, he really  hit bottom that suicide is the only way for him to get out. Mao positive support and talking faith is really help him  in any way. Salamat, and May God Bless you and your family.

Feel like i have to say something regarding this topic  yes i am married to a foreigner, i have been asked by my co-worker many times before why Pinays married foreigner and vise versa my answer is some foreigner women are high maintainance and out of control sometimes i have a few friends that are not pinays and every Fridays they hang out at the Bar and drinks. While faithful and obedient pinays every Fridays after works goes home kiss her hubby and fix dinner  can every woman do that? not at all. I have been married for 15yrs now and we love to hang out together , camping and fishing. I am married to a foreigner in good intentions i am now  a citizen  & holding a foreign passport and earned money and save for my retirement but My Philosophy and way of Life is always BOHOLANA forever my Love. Helping your family is always Pinays or pinoys tradition and nobody can take or tell me what should i do with my life or money.Sorry but i am so disgust with this OP i hope i did not step somebodies toes.

Quote from: Macky Ferniz on August 03, 2008, 07:07:42 AM
During the 70s or 80s, I was in elementary grades. It was a time of chaos when the Marcos government starts to crumble. Then there was this radio commentator Aquilino Pimentel who proposed that statehood to the USA is the only solution of the then 9:1 peso vs. dollar slide. Needless to mention now as it is frustrating.

So, back to the topic, Pimentel become a successful politician due to this stand. However, at present situation, given his power and wealth, I don't think he could afford to say "I am for statehood". Since he became a Senator and in power, everything seems to be forgotten. Infact just recently he sponsored a bill for Philippines to become a Federal Republic, which is an exact copy of the US system. This means he does not only reversed his stand of US statehood, but to compete the system by copying it.

Well, I lost faith of our leaders. I don't know whom to believe anymore. I don't know if a leader is really patriotic, really sincere or just for self interest and power.

So, I believe President William McKinley was right in his famous words:

"We cannot give the Philippines back to the Pilipinos to run because, they are incapable of self-rule and self-governance.Therefore, I have decided that the Philippines will be annexed to the Map of the USA, and there it will stay, for as long as I am president."

Unfortunately, McKinley was assassinated shortly after he won his presidential election. Bright future died with him.

However, I have a trickle of hope left. That only hope is a man who has everything now in the US. But due to his pure concern to the fate of his nation, he will come back to the Phils to serve/run for office and implement reforms. He is not only one but many. These are the men and women whos concience could not stand to watch a dying country. We are the OFWs.

I am not a good writer folks, but I hope my thoughts are well understood.

Amen to that Mr Macky, Mao nay giingon nga makuha na gani ang ilahang gipangandoy sa politics mawala na ang ilahang gipamulong , vanish like a wink of an eye, wala gyoy konsinsiya no?

Mr Lorezo he has nothing against Philippines he love Phil he even wanted to retire there and maybe started  business just like 7-11 but i discourage him due to what i heard and observed there , i am forever Pinay , pero misamot ug kalisod karon kaysa niadto.

Money has many faces. The problem comes when one wants to enrich himself at the expense of public funds.

Now, if it is a government project: the question is priority.

Let us remember that once you've built an airport, it becomes irreversible. It will be there forever.

Based on documents I've read, I know so well that this Panglao Airport lacks careful planning and feasibility study.

If a place is really good, people from all over the world will troop to the place with or without an airport.

Imagine this: you have an airport - but will there be airplanes that will land on your airport? Can you convince Japan Airlines, British Airways, Korean Airlines, etc to have direct flights from their country to Bohol? I'm not pessimistic here - I just want to be realistic.

Do you know that for an airline to put up one international flight it would cost the airline millions of dollars?

Airlines are not foolish to put up an international flight if there are no clamor for it, if there are no demands for it, if they are not sure that there would be steady stream of travelers.

What will happen to your airport if there are no airplanes?
Amen to that .

The late President Ferdinand E. Marcos could be hailed as the greatest President the Philippine Republic has ever produced.

It is not fair to judge him for the misdeeds kay kon akoy pasultion wala siguroy presidente nga wala mangurakot, bisan asa pa sa tibuok kalibutan.  Filipinos have that culture of abhoring bad if they will be benefited, pero kon siya na maapektuhan kusog kaayo manaot.  Di ba?

Am not a loyalist, but I have to be grateful for the man who had helped me for what I am now. (thanks for having all those scholarships that brought me to college and post graduate studies, thanks for the government organizations like KB / SK that honed my leadership abilities, thanks for opening the doors for overseas employment that made Philippines as the main source of competent labor where more than 6 million Filipinos are recipients, thanks for the taste of Imelda for what is beautiful in all her touch that made the world recognize that Filipinos have that aesthetic value comparably the same with them... and we have to be grateful for the long long lists... ) Nailhan kaayo ang Pilipinas during the Marcos regime.

Stoning Marcos for what happened to the Philippines is pure hypocrisy. Who shaped the norms, di ba kita?

Change should start from ourselves.  And we have to be accountable for all our actions.  Tan-awa hangtod karon puro batikos... bisan kinsang presidente.

Nganong dili man nimo usbon ang kapalaran by getting the person learn his mistakes and offer solution thru leadership by example.

Anyway, pareho silang tanan.  And it is not fair to single out Marcos sa tanang mga negative things kay pareha nato masayop sad ta ug duna tay maayo nga side sa atong kinabuhi.

Hinuktuki ra god, perfect ka ba?

Agree gyod ko nimo Junayag brilliant ka kaayo sa mga comments mo, maayo unta kong ang atong mga politicos pareha nimo ang panglantaw sa kinabuhi, salute to you, and long live.

Pobre gyod kay ngano , undergraduate daghan , dropout daghan sab, unemployed daghan sab, unya naa gani nakatrabaho sa pamilya nga usa daghan sab ug gisuportahan, kung ang gobyerno nato pareha lang sa ubang nasod nga naay gitawag ug "Student loan" or "grant" dili siguro daghan ang wala kahuman, but sad to say ingon an ang atong government, Unya dili tanang lungsod naanay tubig , sa (amoa lang Trinidad) hangtod ron wala pa intawon kon wala kay kwarta para sa kubkub ug makina para sa bomba aron adto na sa balay ang agas wala gyod, tabay ra gyod unya ang kabaryohan nga kalsada wala pay asinso, but still Bohol is paradise to me. Dear Friends,

Today I got a quick message from a former colleague asking me if I am using my own money to maintain Tubag Bohol.

My answer to the question: Yes, I am using my personal savings to have this site running 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

I am not rich, but I don't need to be rich so I can help our province in some little ways.

I was even putting my life in constant danger while I was working as full-time journalist in our homeprovince. Ask Capitan Berong about this. :) Tubag Bohol is an extension of my love for Bohol - without counting the cost.

Now I have answered your question, too - that is if you might have the same question in mind.

God bless,

Thing? I don't find a single valuable thing I own. I could live my life happily without my tons of shoes, bags, cosmetics, jewelry, accessories, and electronic gadgets. Though life may not be the same without these things, they couldn't be considered valuable enough for me.

Precious people I love are the most valuable for me. (But they aren't things, are they? LOL.)

Hi Rose how is life in Bangkok?I just saw your web and lovely pic? i did not come to this board to offend some people i mean no harm at all. I agree with you 100%  and thanks to that , peace to everyone .

I disagree - vehemently and crisply! Love can express itself through disobedience, too. In fact, when you think about it, it'll hurt more for you to disobey the person you love. This, of course, is supposing disobedience is also motivated by love.
Wow is this the reason people says you always hurt the one you loved? or shall i say you disobeyed the person you loved? jmho. lol

i've been married for 9 years..
my husband and i will celebrate 10th year aniv next year...we have been through hell and high waters, been through the worst fight, been to everything., name it, we've been through that.. insecurities, jealousy, financial, family prob and all.., but here we are, getting stronger and more solid. our secret?? when we fight, a really big fight, we gave each other space and when both of us is calm then we heartily talk about it. i dont mind yelling when im angry (as long as i dont threw away the plates...lolz..thats bad), i dont even care if he slams the door (as long as he doesnt break the door  :D) , whats important is we do really talk after the slamming and the yelling...lolz..prayers, unconditional love, patience and honesty will really make a relationship last longer...
Me too yadz , i have been married for almost 14 years now and as i said we have some differences but as you grow older you become wiser and calmer . I don't use foul language which my husband tend to use (most of the time).I more like the water than fire. Settle the differences and make up. Hug is the best medicine.
:) ;) :D

June 20, 2007, 07:49:29 AM
This is a response to this querry , i am married to a foreigner not because of his money i think mostly cause my ex pinoy bf before cheated on me , he was so decietful and broke my heart that i promise to myself that i won't married , but to make stories short my husband came along to mylife and give me  a new hope and life , so it is his kindness and love brought me here.I work also , so does he , i contribute some dough, he makes some i make some , so we both bring in some bread.

basta..see it for yourself nalang. why i know? i made a documentary about trinidad...

kinsa imong botohan? i suggest si judtih "bb" cajes... spread it. Last time i was in Trinidad was 2005 and i agree with you, wala pa intawon running water didto looy kaayo and at that time it  was  May and no hardly water in the tabay, are you sure nga worth 10M pesos nang merkado sa lungsod?Corruption  is really the reason nga dili mounlad ang Pinas.

Hi Elizabeth, have you heard of an unpublished saying which states: "like husband, like wife"?  Or "like wife, like husband"?

Maybe as an illustrious staff of her husband's congressional office, she must have learned 1001 tips on serving the public.  Well would  you please inform me then who do you think should   be the Mayor in Trinidad  i really don't have any clue. This is the number one reason i keep coming back in Bohol-island.com to gathered some news i hope you can fill me in.

                Thank you

Hi Mr Ligalig thank you for inviting me to this column , back to the topic, wala gyod koy kalibutan sa mga nahitabo dinha sa Trinidad kay ang politics diha karon are getting worst  although akong mga familya boto sila ni Mrs. Cajes i don't know her that   well so its hard for me to judge. I wish naay kaugmaon ang Bohol . Pilipinas  the  whole.  Ang problema lang kay once nga naana sila sa posisyon nawala na ang ilahang gipanaad tinood gyod last nakong bisita sa Trinidad wala pa gihapoy  running water do you think this can be resolve with Bebe Cajes on the reign?
