Azile, I feel for you and your brother and the situation he was in. Yes its true that life is filled with varying circumstances that can test one's faith, your brother's predicament is definitely a good example, as you point out to us.
And your response to his question, is in my opinion, very altruistic, and positive reinforcing.
Yes, I so completely agree with your remarks. "Don't stop praying."
There are times that we are discouraged either by physical attributes, due to some kind of failure, a lacking in something, or even in an accident or loss, but instead of giving up and lingering on the fact, one should look optimistically to the future, and at the same time, TRUST in GOD.
You see, it is in our weakest moments, our most sublime moments that we can truly feel HIS presence and are reminded of our own innate mortality and finity. We are reminded that though as much as we like to organize our lives, our plans, our works, our deeds, our thoughts, we are never really in control. And that I can attest to, personally.
But what one should do--is to put TRUST in GOD.
It builds firm faith, and faith builds wonders, and through our faith, comes our prayers. And our prayers, rise like incense before the Tabernacle of the Most High. I do guarantee you this.
The Lord God may not answer our prayers according to our expectations, at times, and and sometimes he may not aswer it or provide a response according to our times, but HE does answer and appropriates a response according to HIS own time. According to HIS purpose and HIS will. And HIS WILL BE DONE.
Your brother must remember that life is precious.
Pray and heal. Heal and pray. All is the same, really.
Just have faith. God will provide.
And God Bless you, Azile. May our Lord strengthen you and sustain you.
Your family and your life.
Take care of yourself, friend.
