OPENING STATEMENT:
 
ASEC. JOSE: Good morning to everyone. I would like to brief you on the forthcoming trips of the President to Brunei and China.
 
Maayong buntag sa tanan.Ganahan ko sultian tamo sa mga biyahe sa Presidente sa Brunei ug China.
 
The President will be leaving next week, from October 16 to 21, 2016 to visit Brunei and China.
 
Ang presidente kay mung-gikan sunod simana, gikan Oktobre 16 hanton 21, 2016 para mubisita sa Brunei ug China.
 
The President will travel to Brunei for a state visit on October 16 to 18 and to China for a state visit on October 18 to 21, 2016.
 
Ang Presidente kay mubiyahe sa Brunei para sa state visit inig Oktobre 16 hantod 18 ug sa China para state visit sa Oktobre 18 hantod 21, 2016
 
Both visits are expected to enhance our friendly relations with both countries and to ensure them that the Philippines will continue to be their partners in the region.
 
Ang duha ka bisita kay para mapalambo ang atong pagkaamigo sa duha ka nasod ug masigurado ang pagkapartner sa Pilipinas sa ilaha sa atong rehiyon.
 
In Brunei, the President is expected to hold bilateral talks with His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam on issues of bilateral and regional concern.

It is hoped that during the visit, both leaders could also exchange ideas on how to broaden cooperation.

The President is also scheduled to meet the Filipino community in Brunei on the first day of his visit to the country.
Ang Presidente kay scheduled para makigkita sa Pilipino nga komunidad sa Brunei sa unang adlaw sa iyang bisita sa nasod.
 
We expect that there will be a huge turnout of Filipinos to greet and meet the President. The event will be held at the Indoor Stadium Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex.

Around 23,000 Filipinos are working and residing in Brunei.

It may be recalled that Brunei was scheduled to be the first ASEAN country to be visited by the President this year. However, due to the unfortunate bombing incident in Davao City last September 2, 2016, the President’s visit to Brunei was rescheduled to a later date.
Mahinumdoman nga Brunei ang gischedule nga una ka ASEAN nga nasod ang dapat bisitaonsa Presidente karong tuiga. Pero,tungod sa pamomba sa Davao City pag Septyembre 2, 2016, naiswag ang bisita sa Brunei sa ulahing petsa.
 
Brunei is a fellow ASEAN country. In 2014, we celebrated the 30th anniversary of the establishment of our diplomatic relations with them.
Ang Brunei kay kauban natong ASEAN nga nasod. Pag 2014, nagcelebretar sa ika 30 nga anibersaryo sa atong paghimo ug diplomatikong relasyon sa ilaha.
 
With regard to China, the President will arrive in Beijing from Bandar Seri Begawan on October 18, 2016.
Sa China pud, maabot ang Presidente sa Beijing gikan sa Bandar Seri Begawan inig Oktobre 18, 2016.
 
In Beijing, the President is scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with President Xi Jinping.
Sa Beijing, ang Presidente kay gischedule nga bilateral meeting sa PresidenteXi Jinping.
 
He is also expected to meet separately with National People’s Congress Chairman Zhang Dejiang and Chinese Premier Li Keqiang.

Following the meeting, President Duterte and President Xi are scheduled to witness the signing of a number of memoranda of understanding and agreement on various fields of cooperation between the two countries.
Inig human sa meeting, si Presidente Duterte ug si Presidente Xi kay giskedyul nga mutan-aw sa pag-signatura sa mga memoranda sa pagkasinabot ug pagkahiusa sa mga fields of cooperation sa duha ka nasod.
 
A joint statement will likewise be issued which will stress areas of cooperation.

As part of his official program, the President may visit some law enforcement and drug rehabilitation centers.
Parte sa iyahang opisyal nga programa, ang president kay mubisita sa ubang law enforcement ug drug rehabilitation center.
 
An activity is also scheduled for the President to meet the members of the Filipino community in China.
 Usa pud ka aktibidad ang giiskedyul para sa Presidente para makipagkita sa  myembro sa Pilipinong komunidad sa China.
 
President Duterte will deliver the keynote address at the Trade and Investment Forum, which will be attended by Filipino and Chinese investors.
 Si Presidente Duterte kay musturya sa Trade and Investment Forum, nga adtoan ug mga Pilipino ug Intsik nga inbestor.
 
In June this year, the Philippines and China celebrated 41 years of formal bilateral relations. The relations began in June 9, 1975 when then President Ferdinand Marcos and then Chinese Premier Zhou Enlai signed a joint communiqué of the Government of the Republic of the Philippines and the Government of the People’s Republic of China in Beijing.

With this visit by President Duterte, the Philippines hopes to strengthen the bilateral ties between the Philippines and China through mutual respect and sincere cooperation for the prosperity and benefit of both countries and their peoples.
 
Sama sa kaning bisita sa Presidente Duterte, nagdahom ang Pilipinas nga mas-makusgan ang relasyon sa Pilipinas ug Tsina, agi sa mutual nga repeto ug sincere nga cooperasyon para sa prosperidad ug benefisyo sa duha ka nasod ug mga katawhan.
