BADACs commit to active anti-drug drive
ILOILO CITY, Sept. 7 (PNA) -- More than a thousand members of Iloilo City’s 180 Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Councils (BADACs) committed to support the intensified campaign against illegal drugs through strengthened bodies in their respective villages.

A pledge of commitment was signed by participants during Hublag Kontra Droga: Arming the BADACs Re-orientation at Jaro Gym September 6.

“This is another initiative of our massive anti-drug program in the barangays. It is a serious issue that we have to stop illegal drugs in the city. We have to support what is the right thing to do for the future of our residents,” stressed Mayor Jed Patrick E. Mabilog.

He called for the cooperation and collaboration of BADACs in combating the illegal drug concern in an effort to clear the city of drug personalities by yearend.

Mabilog as chairman of Iloilo City Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ICADAC) was cited by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in 2015 for causing the 100 percent activation of BADACs, a feat considered to be the first in the country for a Local Government Unit to get recognized.

The mayor also initiated to arm the BADACs with a comprehensive confidential reporting mechanism of illegal drug situation in their villages to be submitted to ICADAC starting September 15 and every 15th of the month thereafter following their regular meeting.

“We, the members of BADAC, strongly commit ourselves to actively participate in the fight against illegal drugs by recognizing our role in the anti-illegal drug activities in our community. We pledge to perform to the best of our ability the powers and functions given to us as the first line of defense in curbing illegal drugs in the barangay,” they pledged.

They also committed to “crush, destroy, and eliminate illegal drugs; take and neutralize drug lords and pushers as they have no place in our barangays.” (PNA)

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
