hayyy... i can say a lot of bad things about Jonelle from how i know her, i didn't know her that well though 'coz maybe my gut feel told me not to. back then i tried to talk to her, just for casuality's sake but i guess i just didn't need to try hard. not that interested, it was probably a good reason. LoL!

@kiamoy, i would consider that as a good thing. like i said, i'm a very friendly person. i have a lot of weird and crazy friends at first sight but i really try to get to know them better and it would turn out they're great, not necessarily perfect but great. pero kani sya wa jud ko'y effort, dai. i didn't turn away while she was there but something stopped me from befriending her. there was just something about her, but i certainly did not expect this.  it's just sad.

this would pretty much be a big thing from where Jonelle came from, especially back home. we're batchmates and we're both from tacloban, it's a pretty small town where almost everyone knows everybody. i'm sure when i go back they'll be all over it.

so far none of my Tacloban friends texted me yet for inquiry. Maybe not alot of people knows her afterall. Unless, you're personally connected to her, career or academic wise.

i'm talking about persons whom you know thru friend of friend of friend..lol it mga naturally sikat ba..lol!

i guess you're right, maybe she's not.  siguro schoolmates and neighbors. but the thing that concerns most of us would be why and how it happened. same as other murder cases, we're all interested on the details.

For now let's not judge jonnelle below the belt,she hasn't proven guilty yet.and one thing dont drag her family just bcoz of this issue,they do nothing about this.

Then, nag-ingon2x pa cya na edna daw ang name sa person na makigkita ni VI. Na-tsismis pa na lesbian daw and nagpatay kay interested daw ang woman na makigkita ni Vi. Unya wala nalang gyud cya naghuna2x na daghan nakakita niya sa sinulog kuyog c Vi unya naa pay suspicious-looking na character iyang gikuyog? Naa pa gyud daw nagtext2x sa mga tao unya nakigchat pa cya sa bf? Ni-angkon pa cya na kuyog diay cya sa hotel with three men and one other woman having a good time. Nag-panic attack pa gyud unya gi-recant ang statement. Pag raid sa iyang balay naa pay pitaka ni Vi. Unsa nalang tuo niya sa mga tao stupid? Guilty unless convicted lage pero cya ra man ang gahatag ana tanan. Murag karon pa ko kadungog ug crime case na ing-ana ka troubling ang statements. Murag absurd jud. If it was a crime she intended to do, stupid jud pagkahimo. I don't know, ga-base ra man sad ko sa reports. We don't actually know unsa jud katinuod ang iyang mga statements. So sick oi. I don't want to be judgmental pero people are not stupid diba? If she's not the one who did it, why not give a simple honest answer? If she's covering something or someone, what is it? Is it more than or worth it sa pagkapriso niya?

By the way, I think it's really not that you really can't trust friends. It's  how you "Choose your friends." Vi was probably too kind and understanding to accept her as a friend no matter what. What a sad thing jud.

Really unpredictable?um,i know her kac as ganun na since we're kids pa,i mean, her personality is like that na,pro i can't say that she's papansin na.it's like,we have diff. Personalities,unique to be exact.but yes,i was shocked and my heart beats so fast when i heard this news...pro sa ako pagkaila nya,harmless baya na sya,daghan kaayo natabang sa akua c jonnelle,mao na bothered jud ko ron..luoy jud iya anak, single mom man gud na sya.maluoy pud ko sa iya family kay madawit ani nga issue.

im pretty damn sure.. papansin jud kaayo na xa. everytime she took sup calls, she would even shout on customers and hang up on them.. she really, really loves to shout on people... she's too proud on herself... good for her...

Police tags 4 others in party with slain call center agent

THE evidence submitted in the complaint for the murder of call center worker Lynn Vi Ebarita identified her companions on the night she disappeared.

According to the daily staff journal of the Mandaue City Police Office, Ebarita was with two other women, Jonnelle Enfectana and Evelyn Apelado, and three men identified as Wabert Diu, Arnel Babon and a certain Roxan or Raxo.

Shown a sketch of the “Tina Panganiban” who reserved Room 309 of the Nikkei Garden Hotel, three witnesses also said in their joint affidavit that the woman was Apelado. Ebarita’s body was found behind that room.

Her boyfriend in the United States also confirmed in an online chat that Ebarita was with some men and women before she was killed.

The boyfriend said he called up the victim’s cell phone three days after she failed to come home and another woman answered the phone. He also heard that woman talking to some men.

The printed chat messages between the victim’s boyfriend and Enfectana was the document she gave investigators before she was arrested.

Authorities are trying to determine if the others were involved in Ebarita’s death.

Stabbed 24 times and stuffed in a plastic bag, Ebarita was found last Jan. 22. Enfectana has since been named a respondent in a murder complaint.

Investigators recovered the victim’s wallet in Enfectana’s boarding house on the day they arrested her.

Enfectana, through her lawyer, is contesting the legality of her arrest and the search in her room, both of which were not covered by warrants.

The head of the Investigation and Detective Management Branch, Chief Insp. Eddie Recamara, said in his affidavit that the house owner approved their search and was even there when they discovered the victim’s wallet.

In the inquest proceedings, Recamara and his three investigators submitted, among others, the progress report of MCPO Director Senior Supt. Orlando Ualat; the MCPO daily staff journal prepared by PO3 Charlie Callet; the joint affidavit of three TeleTech employees; and the joint affidavit of the victim’s sister and relatives.

They also submitted the joint affidavit of the arresting officers Recamara and investigators SPO1 Arnulfo Quiachon Jr., SPO1 Rico Cabatingan and PO3 Protacio Tago Jr.

Recamara requested that the names of the witnesses be withheld, so as not to expose them to unnecessary risk.

Ualat’s progress report revealed that a certain Tina Panganiban rented Room 309 at 1 p.m. last Jan. 18.

At 9 p.m. that same day, the victim was with Enfectana, Apelado and Diu, drinking at the corner of Escario and Juana Osmeña St. in Cebu City.

The report further stated that Apelado and Diu were Enfectana’s neighbors in Tacloban City.

The staff journal named the other suspects as Babon and Rackso, from Borongan town in Samar. The two were also with the group that night.

“These names mentioned could not be contacted and never showed up during the conduct of the investigation,” the journal said.

Ualat’s report stated that at 1 a.m. on Jan. 19, hotel personnel who delivered beer to Room 309 saw the victim and “Tina Panganiban” inside.

Three TeleTech employees executed an affidavit stating that at 9:30 p.m. on Jan. 18, they met the victim, Enfectana and her cousin Apelado. The women reportedly said they were waiting for a taxi.

The call center employees said that Apelado wore a fisherman’s hat and big dark sunglasses, even if it was nighttime. “Tina Panganiban” wore the same things as well, the hotel’s front desk in-charge later told the police. (OCP)

i know a friend of hers but i did not bother to bring up the topic kay mauwaw ko. i'm sure that she'll know about it in time. besides, she's on the headline.

would you know how long jonelle and lynn knew each other? she must have trusted jonelle enough to go with her to that hotel with the "cousin" that she just met.

let this all be a lesson to all of us. i know how easy it is to be comfortable with a person especially if you think that you have so much in common, but it's much better to be safe than sorry. 

lynn vi knew jonelle for about a year till then that they became close friends when lynn vi made jonelle her secondary specialist.

yea..benefit of the doubt ... but everybody here in the office who helped investigate the case with the police..really want to pinned her down.

in fairness to her family as well, let's scourn jonelle not her family.

A couple of our neighbors in Tacloban are being dragged into the case, kasi nakita daw sila together with jonelle on the eve of Sinulog. Nagkakagulo na dun sa street namin sa Tacloban hehe. The wife of the "neighbor" is already hysterical after hearing about her husband's name being dragged into the case.

Close this With the father of slain call center agent Lynvi Ebarita seated across her, murder suspect Jonnelle Enfectana answered questions posed by Assistant City Prosecutor Bienvenido Mabanto Jr. at his office with a calm that surprised even the arresting officers yesterday.

Early in the proceedings, Ebarita's father Vicente Jr. displayed the same calm while he listened intently to the arguments.

When the proceedings were temporarily suspended for a lunch break, Vicente Ebarita Jr. left but not before telling reporters that he already forgave Enfectana.

The father, a pastor of the Mactan Christian Church, said he even tried to perform a “pray over” at Enfectana before the start of the inquest.

“Ako namang gipasaylo si Jonnelle kung siya man ugaling ang nipatay. Kung dili man gani siya, mutug-an nalang unta siya kung kinsa. Kitang tanan kausa ra mutamak sa kalibutan...ako na siya gi-forgiven (I forgave Jonnelle if she was the one who killed her. If it turned out that she's not the one, she should point out who's responsible. All of us only steps once in the world...I already forgave her),” he said.

The father also told reporters that after his daughter's death, he prayed for the “mastermind” to see and be bothered by Lynn Vi's soul until he or she comes out into the open.

He said he did not tell anyone about the prayer except for his family.

During the wake, Enfectana surprisingly told them that she cannot sleep and she always sees Lynn Vi.

This aroused the suspicions of the Ebarita family members.

Jonnelle is one of my closest & real friend, but we do not go often because i am here in Leyte, the last time i seen her when she got home last dec. i couldn't believe she could do such terrible things.. 
in fairness to her, i did not see any negative character... i just got the news yesterday when one of our common friend called me- (asking me if " when was the last time we talked/texted )", i was really shocked.... oh my God!!!. as i have read the comments, i keep on asking to my self.. do jonnelle have dual personality?, all that she showed me is the good side?

exactly! the day before we knew nga patay na si Bai...ni ask pa jd na xa sa BMS (ttech utility personnel) ug naa pa bay dako nga trash bag sa iya gidala...ni ana ang utility nga ang pinaka dako kay XL. Den nilakaw xa... hahay. coincidence?

bitaw AMber i agree.. if it was not planned in advance, ngano ga dala sila ug trash bag and masking tape or even kutsilyo to stab her.. magdala diay ka ug such things if mag inom lang mo..

Bai trusted her and for that innocent trust Bai died alone, frightened and BETRAYED on that cold tile floor.  If you (Jonelle) will say that you are mentally ill, under Philippine Law you were not insane during that day.

If Jonelle is proven guilty with out reasonable doubt.  Or even if not but she is behind all of this, she hurt a lot of people --- You hurt us bad,girl.  I hope and I wish for you to find peace.

THE gruesome deaths of call center agent Lynn Vi Ebarita and Emily Nuñeza draw our attention to the social impact and dangers of modern-day technology.

Police investigators and reporters had been talking, off the record, about what they learned regarding the liberal sexual lifestyle of call center agents in the course of the Ebarita investigation.

Maybe it’s the tension of facing the PC, handling irate callers and being confined together for eight hours during mostly graveyard shifts. Many call center employees end up having several liaisons and some even engage in group sex. As we all know, the call center industry is a recent phenomenon brought possible by advances in information and communication technology.

I understand that one theory pursued by investigators involved a possible invitation to enjoy with the group gathered by Lynn Vi’s best friend at the Nikei Hotel in Mandaue Cityâ€"a sex party that went awry.

According to a former Sun.Star editor who went to work in a call center, equally tragic was what happened to another group in another Cebu-based call center. They tested positive for HIV.

Emily Nuñeza, on the other hand, responded to a radio program “Wanted Pangga” that featured blind dates through the airing of their cell phone numbers. We in Superbalita had long ago refrained from publishing cell phone numbers because of numerous complaints about unwanted texters. i just read some of the new update, guys. the utility person whom jonelle asked about the garbage bag, that was lame. if she were to commit a crime why would she talk to someone that could possibly give information about the issue. like, didn't she think that asking a question about a plastic bag from utility person would give more reason to pin her to the crime. well, she could've just went to the grocery, bought and asked garbage bag sizes from the store itself!

i don't know, this doesn't seem well planned at all. and i just have a question, why is it that all evidences point directly to Jonelle? if the crime was indeed committed by her, why would she make it so obvious that it will all lead to her?

- the wallet that was found at where she lives
- giving the information about the crime then taking it back (which arised suspicion)
- chatting with Vi's bf and providing the prints to the cops
- asking about a garbage bag from the utility person

Hindi lang naman si Evelyn ang na-implicate eh. I know of 2 other families back in Tacloban who are grieving because a member of their family was dragged into this case. My bro's former boss was also dragged into this, only because they happened to be in Cebu at that time and wanted to be neighborly with Jonelle and went out to a drinking session with her.

Jonelle may after all be not the one behind this, but obviously Jonelle knows something, right? Why won't she come clean if she is not behind the murder? One of my neighbors back in Tacloban texted me and said that she might still be enjoying the publicity hehe (reminds me of the musical "Chicago") - I can't say that's not like her hahaha.

I obviously do not like Jonelle. Her character, it's odd. She is mostly not nice, but a selected few (selected few talaga hehe) would say that she's nice and all. However rotten her character may be, that does not say that she is capable of murder. And even if she is, that's not to say as well that she is behind all this.

At the end of the day, someone who might just have hated the victim deeply to have carried out murder may also be exploiting Jonelle's relationship with the victim and her  not-so-good character to pin the murder case on her. Jonelle might have just panicked and did stuff that pointed the murder case to her.

.... And then again, she might just be behind the murder. I can't wait for the conclusion of the case.

THE gruesome deaths of call center agent Lynn Vi Ebarita and Emily Nuñeza draw our attention to the social impact and dangers of modern-day technology.

Police investigators and reporters had been talking, off the record, about what they learned regarding the liberal sexual lifestyle of call center agents in the course of the Ebarita investigation.

Maybe it’s the tension of facing the PC, handling irate callers and being confined together for eight hours during mostly graveyard shifts. Many call center employees end up having several liaisons and some even engage in group sex. As we all know, the call center industry is a recent phenomenon brought possible by advances in information and communication technology.

I understand that one theory pursued by investigators involved a possible invitation to enjoy with the group gathered by Lynn Vi’s best friend at the Nikei Hotel in Mandaue Cityâ€"a sex party that went awry.

According to a former Sun.Star editor who went to work in a call center, equally tragic was what happened to another group in another Cebu-based call center. They tested positive for HIV.

Emily Nuñeza, on the other hand, responded to a radio program “Wanted Pangga” that featured blind dates through the airing of their cell phone numbers. We in Superbalita had long ago refrained from publishing cell phone numbers because of numerous complaints about unwanted texters. Hindi naman hinati ang katawan. The news kasi about the 2 garbage bags that were used to wrap the dead body was misleading, pero wala namang na mention anywhere sa news na pinutol or chinop-chop yung katawan.

What i can imagine yung katawan eh nasa me aircon vent tas yung upper part ng body pinasok sa unang garbage bag tas yung legs and the lower part eh pinasok sa pangalawang garbage bag tas yung dalawang garbage bag eh pinagdugtong using a packaging tape para ma-seal yung katawan sa loob.

I was from Teletech too pero dito sa Pasay, I left sometime in 2006. My former co-QA Specialist who is now a QA sup joined the launch ng Teletech Cebu. He is still with Teletech but I'm not sure kung sa Cebu pa din. I dropped him an email a couple of days ago about this. He said he heard about it. TTech daw is cooperating with the authorities but they want the media hype to die down as soon as possible. Nakaka-affect na ata sa company image, lalo na that Teletech is heavy on perception management.

yeah, being in the same industry pro lain nga company, nalahi jud ang image sa Teletech..

Cash for info offer stands on slay case

MANDAUE CITY, Philippines - Mandaue City officials Sunday called on the police to arrest three men and one woman allegedly involved in the murder of call center employee Lynvi Ebarita late last month.

Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes issued the call following the arrest of suspected mastermind and fellow call center employee Jonnelle Enfectana last Wednesday.

The mayor confirmed that his offer of a cash reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspects still stands.

“I commend the police for taking an active part in solving the crime. But they should dig deeper in their investigation and leave no stone untouched,” Cortes said.

The police's Investigation and Detection Management Bureau (IDMB) said the other suspects whose identities were still unknown were still in Eastern Visayas.

Murder charges were filed against Enfectana, who underwent an inquest proceeding at the Mandaue City Prosecutor's Office last Friday.

Vice Mayor Carlo Fortuna said there is no need to offer a cash reward to informants anymore.

“I don't think it may have any value now because the principal suspect has been identified. The police are no longer facing a blank wall,” Fortuna said.

The vice mayor added that what is important now is to appeal to other witnesses to come forward.

“What's needed is for the witnesses to share information to the police that can help them identify the suspects and establish their motive,” Fortuna said.

He said that unless the other suspects were arrested, Ebarita's loved ones will continue to live in fear.

“It is only when we can bring them (suspects) behind bars can their lives return to normal,” the vice mayor said.

It was believed that Ebarita and Enfectana were with the suspect's cousin Evelyn Apelado, Roxan or Rachon, Wabert Diu or Wabert Wo and Arnel Babon the night before she was murdered at the Nikkei Garden Hotel in Barangay (village) Subangdaku in Mandaue City.

Except for Enfectana, the other persons identified did not present themselves to the police for investigation, according to a written complaint filed by Ebarita's sister Joy Perpetua.

The group of Ebarita and Enfectana were believed to have been drinking at Ninoy's Payag Restobar at Escario Street before heading to the hotel, the complaint added.

that's exactly my point. basin gi gamit ra ni jonelle ang name nga evelyn to cover up the real name of whoever that woman was who wore the fisherman's hat and sunglasses that night.

for me, i think the best thing for the police to do is to talk with the REAL evelyn (kato friend ni husay) and those other guys whose names were dragged into this. para masulti nila ilang side, nga wla jud sila ato nga hotel at that night. or pakit-on tong front desk person sa nikkei hotel sa picture sa REAL EVELYN para maka-ingon sya nah dili diay to mao ang babae nga nag-check in that night. that way, they can prove nga nangilad ra si jonelle ug nag-buot2x ra ug gamit ug mga pangalan sa mga tao nga wa man jud diay apil sa gulo.
