Some 8,000 jobs will be made available once a French business process outsourcing firm starts its operation here soon.

Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog said Atos Philippines has signified its intention to open its business in the metropolis.

“We welcome this newest investment as well as other BPO companies who find satisfaction and contentment doing business in Iloilo City,” he said.

“Their entry means more employment opportunities for Ilonggos and a much improved economy,” Mabilog added.

Atos Philippines officials led by Yheroi Kubena paid a courtesy visit to the mayor recently regarding their plan.

Kubena said they chose Iloilo City first for its strategic location and second for its readily available competent and capable work force.

The company is currently scouting for possible sites for its business and is expected to hire thousands of local graduates once it starts its operations, he stated.

Atos is an international information technology services firm serving a global client base including Nike and The Coca-Cola Company, delivering hi-tech transactional services, consulting and technology services, systems integration and managed services.
