i like to attend jud ing ani na mga gatherings kay bibo and close kaayo ang mga tawo pare!

amen, pare. We had a similar thing at my place, pare. It was held in my house sa 9th sa Enero. Kai to commemorate the Fiesta in Valencia and to hold a vigil for SENOR ST. Nino.

every friday though igawas and magpahawok sa original nga sto. nino sa ato.

in cebu, nangutana ko sa curator sa museum, ingun sya kanang nas kilid sa simbahan mao ng original. she said, "nga itago man ang sto. nino nga para man sya sa mga tawo"

Since ako ang dia sa cebu, I'll do my best to be able to post some pictures - from my friends. I wouldn't be able to take parade pictures since I've work (BPO company).
Pero I will post jud that's for sure.

Ondoy Calle, ang mga tawo dili na mahadlok mangawat, Ang kalis sa simbahan sa Garcia-Hernandez gikawat ug ang blessed hosts gi jabo sa kasagbutan!( I think 3 years ago).Kalis lang ni nga gold-plated.
Ang sayop niani kining mga kwartahan nga mopalit sa mga antik ug i-panghambog. I met a rich lady who showed off her big Sta Cruz a black wood which was assumed as more than 100 years old. It was very shameful for me, I told her if she doesn´t get bad conscience, she said no.

I didn't know that people did such things in Bohol. Such acts of vagrancy and vandalism.

It was told to me by our Parish priest in Booy Fr John Legitimas (he´s now in the USA), the bishop required,  I could remember 30  days dawn rosaries for penance for the parishioners and whoever did it was excommunicated , the last was horrible to hear. Ondoy daghang mga shabu addict sa atoa karon, so you could imagine the work of the devil.

Intawn, intawn, intawn. Mao bitaw no? These vice-ridden acts of drug addiction and related habits have made the unthinkable---possible.

I attended St. Bridgettes Roman Catholic Church in Pennsylvania several years ago and I remember coming to mass early in the morning--and was surprised to see a homeless individual sleeping in one of the chairs in the back. But i was so touched to see the local pastor coming to give a blanket and pillows to the individual and a bag of canned and refined food.

But to think that someone would go up to the Altar to steal the Blessed Host and the Cup? To sell?

The Sinulog Festival today is a success.
The weather was great. Dili jud init and tugnaw pud gane.
The participants were not soak with their sweat nor wala jud cla intawn na initan.
Wala puy gubot sa audience.
Very organized than the last 3 years.
I was very luckyto have the chance to watch it at the top. Murag 2nd floor lang sa basement sa robiinsons. Since dhay kapit.
Of course dili complete ang festival ni Nino if dili na muuwan. (It is said that Sto. Nino loves to play under the rain jud)
Mitaligsik jud gamay and below one minutes nga rainshower.
Ang mga artista wala gane nagpayong bisag taligsik.
They really enjoyed the warm cheers from the crowd.

I was surprised that Tacloban, Abuyog and Borongan (Samar) joined

How's Lolo Ciano, Dong? 

Salamat sa ang kaluuy sa Ginoo nato, okey and in good health man si Lolo.
Lolo is going to celebrate his 82nd birthday karoong October 2009.

Naka sulti man ko ni Lolo karoong Deciembre sa Pasko sa telefono. Ingoon siya kono bibo ang balay kai ning balik man ahong Mama Linda (my aunt) from Saudi kono. Naka hear lang ko sa iyang voice, 'te, na happy jud ko.

Ampo lang ko that the GOOD LORD will continue to bless my dear Lolo Ciano with long life. He is my only Lolo left, 'te. I love him so much.

Ning adto man to siya sa Fiesta sa Valencia pood. Mingaw jud ko niya..

Oh, I bet Lolo Ciano also misses you a lot, Dong! It seems like strong man kaayo imong Lolo, Dong!  I am with you in prayer na hatagan sya'g taas na kinabuhi aron magkita-kita mo pohon.

I was wondering how these two pagan festivals became Christian. I was searching information in the Municipal Library of Malitbog (Southern Leyte) but I didn’t found anything about it. But do you know what information I found during my researches?

Did you know that the Roman Catholic Church in Benguet adopted an Igorot pagan practice? Here’s what was written on the Manila Daily Bulletin, dated August 13, 1968:

“LA TRINIDAD, Benguet, August 12 (PNS). An experiment on the incorporation of some sound Igorot pagan practices into the Catholic church’s religious ceremonies was successfully conducted by the Sabangan parish church under Rev. Fr. Wilfredo Daels in Mountain Province recently.

“This was the blending of the ‘tengao,’ an Igorot pagan harvest festival, and the traditional Catholic thanksgiving rites into one united religious observance.

“The pagan festival of dances was held immediately after the mass…

“With the success of the first combined pagan-Catholic church ‘tengao,’ the Sabangan folk will no longer have divided thanksgiving celebration.”

we have our ways of thanking God for the blessings that He continually showered us in our lives. kung magtuwad2 sila, let them be. kung musayaw pareha sa sulog, so be it. what matters is that in our hearts, we are giving thanks to God almighty.

the origin is of no significance other than history.

The sinulog is of pagan origin but it is accepted to the Roman Catholic as a religious festival to show love  to the Holy Child Jesus.

alam ko. sinulog is from the cebuano word sulog which means current. mao ng ilang sayaw sa sinulog category gaatras abante. LOL lahi lahi man ang categories sa mardi gras. nay sinulog based, free interpretation, higantes ug floats.

CEBU CITY, Philippines - Despite some minor hitches, the Sinulog 2009 celebration was a success, according to Ricky Ballesteros, Sinulog Foundation Inc. (SFI) executive director.

Ballesteros said problems such as the erroneous awarding of the Ms Cebu Globe Texters' Choice Award would serve as a lesson for the SFI to be careful even with the smallest detail.

“There is no perfect organization. There would always be hitches or lapses but these controversies should serve as lessons learned for all of us so that it would not happen next year,” he said.

The History of the Santo Nino~

The Blessed Santo Nino came to the Philippines from the Spaniards who brought His Image to the Philippines by order of the King of Spain, Philipp II. Philip II was a devotee of the Child Jesus of Prague, and he facilitated devotion in the new world. To Christianize the new territories.

And that is why The Santo Nino is connected to Spain and from Spain to The Child Jesus of Prague.
