For Seizure Patients with Depression
« on: February 02, 2012, 04:09:05 AM »
Patients with an underlying seizure pathology and are also suffering from depression, please note: Be aware to make sure to tell your physician that it is unsafe to prescribe Bupropion (Wellbutrin), an Atypical Antidepressant, for you.

Reasoning: Bupropion can lower seizure threshold and thus seizure patients with depression should not be taking this.

Action: Psychiatrists and Neurologists should be aware to treat patients' depression with other antidepressant drugs eg, TCAs, SSRIs, SNRIs.
