The Bohol Chronicle

At least five stolen vehicles were recovered by the PNP’s Traffic Management Group-Region 7 since Monday.

As of yesterday, the TMG impounded at the Camp Dagohoy 2 Nissan Urvans, 1 Hyundai Starex, 1 Mitsubishi Adventure and 1 Isuzu Crosswind.

The stolen cars, that are on the TMG list of stolen vehicles, found its way to new owners here through second-hand dealers.

Most of the vehicles were registered to its original owners from Metro Manila.

The TMG, led by Insp. Doroteo Tolentino, conducted its operations after noting that second-hand cars are being sold here like “hot cakes” and at cheaper prices.

Police identified the cars during patrols conducted as most of them are now using fake plates.
At the TMG base in Camp Dagohoy, the engine number and chassis number are examined to check if these were not tampered.

If the boats that these cars came over on have security always then why is it not that these cars serial numbers that are located in the lowwer drivers side window be compared to the serial number of the title and the registration as also the serial number is located inside of the engine area as well?
Why did the ferry system not notice the same thing also that there was an increase in cars coming from Manilla suddenly?
I also noticed that second hand cars were becoming more increasing here?
Im sure the buyyer's are aware of the car's as being stollen.
Why else would they sell for so cheap?

I will not presume to know anything about the procedure of loading cargoes into ships or of security measures at piers and ports, but I know enough to congratulate a person for a job well done.

Five second-hand cars are just the tip of the iceberg of car-smuggling in the Philippines, and this accomplishment may even distract people from far more serious issues, but if you insult the police when they do something bad and insult them also when they do good, they soon won't care what the people will say of them.  Charity in word and in deed are far more encouraging than criticism at every turn.
