The Bohol ChronicleAt least five stolen vehicles were recovered by the PNP’s Traffic Management Group-Region 7 since Monday.
As of yesterday, the TMG impounded at the Camp Dagohoy 2 Nissan Urvans, 1 Hyundai Starex, 1 Mitsubishi Adventure and 1 Isuzu Crosswind.
The stolen cars, that are on the TMG list of stolen vehicles, found its way to new owners here through second-hand dealers.
Most of the vehicles were registered to its original owners from Metro Manila.
The TMG, led by Insp. Doroteo Tolentino, conducted its operations after noting that second-hand cars are being sold here like “hot cakes†and at cheaper prices.
Police identified the cars during patrols conducted as most of them are now using fake plates.
At the TMG base in Camp Dagohoy, the engine number and chassis number are examined to check if these were not tampered.
