Dia pa gehapon... extended puyo sa hospital kay akong BP gesapot everytime mag orthothetic BP test sila (di ko sure sa spelling), dako kaayo ang drop from maghigda to lingkod to magtindog. The cardiologist asked if I can stay one more night para jud maka sure siya ug ma regulate ako mga meds. 3 na ka tambal ila ge drop sa lists because I used to take 4 of them a night. Sa una di katarog sa BP ng upat! Salamat usa na lang ilang gipainum. Wa ko kasabot sa medical term pero problematic daw akong "telemetry?"

The nephrologist just came too, and checked me out, he said the same thing but I should be good to go as far as he is concerned. Naghuwat na lang ko sa Cardiologist nga maoy mo round and make the decision kung pwede na ba ko makauli. I talked to Doc Lorenz on the side... to give him update. Ako siya giingnan if I'm dokdoking at TB that's a very good sign!!! Bwahahaha!!!

Father Roel, your 46 lb loss in the last month is drastic and because of that aspect, your cardiologist should correct the strength of your antihypertensive medication, if not, remove some of them. Because of your weight loss, your body's blood pressure had dropped (that's a good thing), but when you took all the anti-hypertensive medication, it caused an excessive drop in blood pressure. Your MD should also watch for instances of postural hypotension as well. Don't worry, just know that being in the hospital is not necessarily a bad thing, we want to make sure that you're okay -- for precautionary measures lang ba.

They were testing whether or not if you had Orthotic Hypotension , or otherwise known here in the United States as Postural Hypotension, which is when one's blood pressure drops upon lying down. It is a side effect of medication.

They were referring to biotelemetry, its a tool we use to see whether or not there are any cardiac abnormality in the patients. They were monitoring your heart, as well as your other vital signs. That is just standard operating procedure, Fr. Roel.

I also lost the ability to crave... magically because of that surgery. Di katoohan no? Mao nga ang danger is... I forget to eat and drink w/c is also dangerous. 46 lbs!  heavens, kadako ana fr chic!  it's almost 20 kilograms.  i hope there was no loss nutrition-wise, just fat and carbs.

even sharon cuneta's millions could not let her lose that number of kilograms despite claims.  congratulations!  you don't need marie france and its slimming program.

Exactly! I used to weigh in at 120 kg, karon kay 99.3 na lang to 100.3 kg. Mao lagi unta I hope I'm not messing up my nutrition... dako jud nag posibilidad. But I try to keep my meal replacement shakes with me at all times... complete nutrition man daw ni

kaya gyod, fr chic, kaya.  surely wa ra ang akong will power compared to yours...

nagdako ko nga miss manok, basta manok payts ko, puwera lang tinola kay langsahan ko.  nakaporke lang, akoy tighurot sa panit.  favorite pa gyod ang chicken chicharon, pila ka tuig maoy akong afternoon snacks.  niabot ang panahon sa pagpaningil.

truly we are what we eat.  nibati na man kog non-stop tiredness of muscle joints, inig mata kalami na lang ihilak kay mora kog gikan gadaro ug usa ka semana.  arthritis was setting in.  a 3-month medication did me good, thank heavens.  but until now, di na gyod ko mokaon ug manok.  not a bite.  mahadlok na ko, hehe.  hasta baka, di na.  a little pork na lang, but mostly fish na.

di gyod diay ta magsalig kun bata pa ta because we wake up one day and youth had passed, overnight at that.  nothing beats moderation gyod diay, as i have learned so painfully. 

sunday is my only rest day pero useless gihapon kay nagsige ra ko memorize sa United Kingdom's important historical events para sa akong lecture ugma and sa tuesday ...

Like I said, for some reason the recent surgery on my stomach (dungan sa gall bladder and liver biopsy) did some an incredible things on my cravings and ability to ability eat more food... sa una ang 3 ka plato would last me only 3 hours mahilis dayon hahaha... karon 3 scoops (kutsara) would last me 3 days. I don't even need will power to avoid any of it... the stomach will tell you. But also for some strange reason I never lost my attraction to cooking or even lookking at good cuisine when I see one on tv or commercial. Haskang boanga bitaw ni... pero tinuod jud. Both the nurse and the doctor told me about this even before surgery. The only things they said: "but, you will have to take multi-vitamins and vitamin b-50 for the rest of your life." Also for some medical reason - they can't explain it yet because the procedure is still in its infancy stage - that part of my stomach (bottom part) they were messing with were the ones that used to produce "enzymes" that used to send signal to my brain telling me I was hungry... and used to produce also the Vitamin B my body metaboism needed, which now I don't produce. I wish I know what I'm talking about... mao ra jud ni akong nasabot sa explanation sa doctor ug sa nurse before my August 20 surgery.

BTW, yesterday at around 5PM, the nurse told me the cardiologiest was sending me home early... early pa diay jud nila nang 5PM sa hospital hehehe, so I'm home already since last night. Thanks be to God!!!

Maayong Buntag , Jenneth (Maayong Gabii sa imo)!

Am doing good, not great, just good. I'm feeling the pressure , Jenneth, because I am trying to review for the next up and coming medical board exams. The balancing of medical board reviews, and the requirements of my M.D-Ph.D paper work, research, and rotations do take a toll on me.

I feel that there is a lot of stress on my part. Last night I had a long talk with my mother about the importance of family; I made it a point to remind them how much I miss them and wish that i could be there during their birthday celebration. It does take a toll on someone when one is away from home for so long.

At this moment in time, I seek spiritual food to strengthen me on the weeks to come and to meet the challenges on my plate. Mao na i am planning to attend Holy Mass today at 4:30 pm. It is through celebration of Mass that I receive graces that do strengthen me and lift the burden on my shoulders.

Telling you all this is also a way for me to release my own burden. So, thanks for reading, Jenneth. So how about you, my friend, how are you doing? I hope and pray that your fever has abated and that you are feeling much better now.

It's gonna be fine Bran, God is always with you.. It wasn't a fever Bran but the coffee is the culprit heheheh.. Bitaw, iwas coffee sa ko karon, usually BP nako is 110/90 karon nag 132/80 ko.. Iwas pork pod ko karon heheheh

Yesterday I had a talk with my father as well. Hearing his voice and his words of comfort comforted me during this time in my life. It is rare when I get to talk to my father , but when we do talk, it always is an emotional for me. He is precious to me. Yesterday was the birthday of my mom and dad. Daddy turned 54 and Mommy turned 52.

I told them on the phone, while trying not to cry, "Gusto ko mo balik sa New Jersey kai gimingaw na ko ninyo duha!"
My tears started to fall when my mother said to me, "Gimingaw ako ug imong daddy nimo, Ondoy BranBran..."

Don't worry Bran, it's not the end of the world, puhon magkita ra mo sa imong parents.. Ako gimingaw nako sa akong Lolo ug Lola didto sa Dipolog, 6 years pod wa mi magkita.. The last time we talked on phone sa akong Lola, gusto niya mobakasyon ko and want to meet my husband to be... i'm afraid i'll be going alone this summer next year....
