the local church that I go to here in college, 'te.

These guys are friends of mine.

'te, the priest in the last picture is a very good friend of mine. He is my pastor sa college, a very good man. Bata pa siya, priest na.

Elissa was getting her Catholic Confirmation, 'te.
The man beside her is her boyfriend, who is catholic, and she converted to Catholicism after years of attending Catholic Mass and wanted to be part of the family. She was born and raised Methodist Protestant, though. She was actually there when my sister and I received our Catholic Confirmation last year.

I am so happy for her

The background, it shows desert and mountains, I automatically pin pointed the Rocky mountains of the south west. And one of the large Native American Nations that used to live in the south west were the proud Navajo people.

That and he is wearing a bandera. The Navajo picked this trait from Spanish missionaries in the south west. The Tlaxcala and Aztec Indians in Mexico also have the same bandera.

These people fought white settlers that displaced them from their native country, fought Spanish and Mexican incursions. Ma inspired pood ko sa ilang story 'te, kai despite being placed in reservations and targetted, wa jud sila mo give up. Always looking for opportunity, like the man in the painting, who knows what hes thinking. Sigoro he's looking at his homeland, looking at a reservation, or maybe his family?

Whatever it may be, the painter makes it so realistic.

I don't know. whenever I sit there alone, I always have a chill as if the old man is alive. Bilib ko sa ilang deep appreciation of their culture and they take time to explain their culture to "commoners" like us.
