The Stream that Stares

This picture was taken on the 2nd of January as I was filming a documentary with my walk with Kaiser. As I crossed the bridge over a stream, I turned my head slightly to the right and saw the majesty of the setting sun that shined its light onto the stream, which radiated light to my eyes. I was compelled to capture it.

So me and my pares went to a Japanese sushi place. Hahaha.
1 Filipino, 1 Puerto Rican, 2 puti, and 1 chinese.

Creative juices come out as with hungry mouths. LOL

The Filipino and the Puerto Rican conquered this.  ;)

1 Filipino, 1 Puerto Rican, 2 puti, and 1 chinese.

Creative juices come out as with hungry mouths. LOL

The Filipino and the Puerto Rican conquered this.  ;)

Oh, i'm drooling! I love sushi but not the raw ones altho never had one but didn't even think of having. When that time comes, it would be the day and hmm better be good.

Dong, I'd love to see you guys play and I am willing to learn too!  I have an uncle in Davao who's a master of this game.  One time last year, he asked me to buy a chess clock.  I never knew it existed and what it was!  I googled and I bought one - I think from The Chess Store.

Chess clock? sus para hardcore chess players pood na, 'te. Your Tito must be really good to want one, lol.
I have an interesting anecdote that will always remind me to never underestimate anyone. Last semester, I played a game of chess with a girl I took out on a date, and as we came back from the movies, i took her to my place to get to know each other. She wanted to play ToD, but i decided a better game to play was chess. (In hindsight, i dont know why i did that, LOL, sigoro i wanted to conquor her lang in the game ;) ). She told me she never played it, so i felt confident-naturally-what man doesn't? haha. But when we started to play, I realized she fibbed me, i risked everything to use a King's  gambit to allow my offense to form, but i realized that she was a good player--then she admitted that she did play chess multiple times kono. As I  was loosing my pieces, and eventually lost the game, she kept on smiling which pounded me uy! Hahaha
We of course got to know each other more afterwards. Pero the moral of the story is never underestimate a woman. You just might not know how good she really is ;)

Oh yeah!  I bet you learned a lot from that, Dong!  In any situation, never underestimate a woman! hahahahaha  I really want to learn that game because first, it's a sophisticated game (remember the Beautiful Mind?) and secondly, that really is a classic game. I may learn to play sudoku or Othello but Chess is still the best, I think.  So I can't wait to have our EB at your Ate Belle's and you can teach me that and or learn from your games with, maybe Mike or the women (like your Ate Belle and Ate Ethyl) that difinitely can never be underestimated!  :D

Lovely

American Standard M16- Standard Infantry Semi-Automatic Rifle. With armour piercing rounds.

357 Magnum. This will easily cleave a 6 inch whole through your chest ;)

Coconut. Survived 4 rounds of the SKS (my damage ;) )

Some pictures of last month's interview process at LECOM (Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine).

Medical School banner--pretty big, as soon as i went inside the building, i saw this 20 foot banner hanging in the lobby. Pretty intimidating, actually.

A picture of a Medical Student's retinue: Medical Neurology Review. I sat in for this class--following my host for a day. Pretty interesting, great info. Medical Neurology was 4 hours long; these guys were reviewing for their final examinations. Fun.

My host rachelle (right) and one of her friends. We went to the local restaurants to celebrate a 'Friday' night out, lol. Cool guys.

My medical student hosts took me out to a formal club. Got this.

Fancy schmancy. lol.

Do you like sweet red wine? or do you like dry wine, like Amontillado?

I experienced wine tasting in the summer of 2006, Dong.
Aunt's family and I went to France. We went to this fascinating place called Chablis.

We stayed for a week in the old town of Auxerre, region of Burgundy and then we drove in the nearby town wherein Sunflower and Lavenders are grown. Chablis is about an hour or two drive from Auxerre. It is in the northern part of Burgundy. Most of the famous white wines are from Chablis. I love their wines, dong. They are so fruity and very dry.

France is great, Dong.

Ah, now I hunger for France and all of her intoxicating treats. Someday, I'll visit La France.

Hazel, have you ever indulged in tasting Cognac?

Hahaha! Its sexy, no? The first time I had cognac was literally when I was at my friend's house. Her father offered me a glass.

So Ginger, how was it done when you had your wine tasting?
Just curious, I wonder if it's the same as what we had.

Ms Beth, we visited lots of winery then we select or order the kind of wine we want, according to taste and dryness. Since Chablis specialized in white wines,  so we tasted white wines most of the time. They also have red wines but very limited. Some winery offer all kinds of wine to taste and even serve some cheese and crackers that will match the kind of wine we're tasting. It was great, we got to know more about wines and know how it's being made. We also experienced short tours in the winery and vineyards. FUN and Tipsy! :D

Haze, do you get charged for the wine tasting?

Late last year, we went to Apple Hill where there a lot of wineries.  We did some wine tasting - white or red wine.  Yes, they served with cheese and crackers too to clean the palate after tasting one wine.  I saw some food magazine guys doing the wine tasting.  I kind of kept an eye on what they are doing. They were swirling the wine glass then smell and took a small sip, flicker their eyes which looks like they were trying to understand the taste then sip some more and write something in their notes.  For the ordinary wines, we don't get charged but for the "reserved wines", they charged like 15 dollars.  We decided to just wine taste the regular chardonnay and merlot which was free and bought a reserved merlot with a reasonable amount of 25 dollars.

Beth, do you happen to have Trader Joe's in your place?  They sell the best Shiraz, Chardonnay and Merlot according to California wine tasters during the recent State Fair.  The brand name is Charles Shaw.  It's the cheap too - just 1.00.  I think this year, they bested a lot of wines even those costing about 10 dollars or more.  You can't beat 1.99 for a price which is also best-tasting wine!

Ginger, sounds great nang imong experiences. Labina ang tours around the vineyards. I bet you lovin it!
When my hubby and I went to Napa and Sonoma in California as what ms da binsi mentioned, didto mi naka experienced similar as what you said. After our little tour, we bought wine and like you, we had cheese and crackers nga mura mi ug nag picnic.
The best wine tasting we had was at The Sagamore Resort in New York. What makes it fabulous was the dinner wherein, from appetizer, entree to dessert, it came with the specific wine for each dish. Kini pong akong bana dali ra ma empty iyang glass so the waiter kept on  pouring for more and we end up drunk that night. Pagka human lagi, we held each other so tightly kay basin manga dusmo unya mi padong sa among cabin. Unya buwanon pod tong gabihiuna so ming drop by mi by the dock and just chillin out right along Lake George.

grazie, unortunately we don't have Trader's Joe. We only have our local wine store. I must say they have a wide variety to choose from, I'll take a look sa imong gi recommend. Sounds good.

Charles Shaw wines which can only be bought at Trader Joe's are award-winning wines.  They have Cabernaet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, Shiraz, Merlot and Chardonnay.  Murage prefers the Chardonnay but we always have Merlot too because my cousins like Merlot.  If I make stew or pot roast or even humba, I used merlot as liquid.  It's good and as I said, Charles Shaw wines are inexpensive.

Maring, just got back from Whole Foods.  You asked me about the bread with seeds.  Did you mean the Challah bread with poppy seeds?
