oh yes, i always hear it from my lolo and lola.. like:
me: la, bisita mo diri sa manila nxt yr ha..
my lola: puhon puhon day, kaluy an ta sa Ginoo tagaan tag maayong lawas ug buot..
hehehe
, she could have just say.. YES or NO
hehehe! that is so true, Garlit. I find it so interesting how the older generation say that, in fact, I find myself saying it too, especially when I was in Bohol this summer. How powerful is the force of observational learning. lol
One thing I find quite uniquely Bolanon is the use of 'Ondoy' as a term for endearment, instead of 'Dong'.
In Leyte and Cebu, its common to hear the people use 'Dong...' etc etc.
In Iloilo, and Negros Occidental they use, 'Toto...'
Pero in Bohol (especially in southern to eastern Bohol) they use Ondoy.
Kahinumdum ko sa una, when I was younger, my Lola Nating would call me, she would say, "Ari na, Ondoy Bran Bran, kaon na ta, La!"
Mo respond ko, "Unsa man gi luto nimo, Lola Nating?"
Respond pood sija, "Imong paborito, Ondoy! Pinakbet ug sabao nga baka..."
Ako: ((Ning Dagan sa Kutsina)) ha ha ha
My Lola was Valencianon. Inchik Valencianon.
