pero tinuod jud Bella nga design/fashion/art related jobs kelangan 'vongga' ka sa imo dressing up interview palang, kelangan may character daan.

I gree with this. Especially here in the United States, Mari, if anyone is looking to rise above his or her current situation, one has to be competitive and sell himself/herself to the employer either through personal interaction (interviews, game of golf etc) and through his/her resume.

We live in a overly competitive society, here in the United States.

Mari, interesting point. I have friends who graduated as art majors and or music majors that had to work harder in terms of internships, in landing on jobs as museum curators, art gallery curators, or even getting accepted into prestigious art schools in Italy (Florence, for example).

Coming from a background in hard science and history, I do have an appreciation for art, and humanities as these majors teach students to think beyond the border, to think in abstract and artistic lines.

Going to lab, teach students, and distill chemical liquids, is something. But coming back to one's college dorm to sit down and enjoy Bach for a minute or two and converse with art majors and/or poli science majors was quite titillating. A 'break' from the absolutes of Biology.

My younger sister, in my opinion, maintained a duality and healthy atmosphere. She graduated with a degree in Biology (Honors) with specialty in Molecular Cellular Genetics, but was also a double major in Art.

I would love visiting her art gallery, seeing her sketch in coal, or oil paint. The mixing of biology/science and abstract art.

Great mix. imho.

College is the best place to explore one's interests, strengths, and gifts.

:)

my sister is the same Dong Lorenz, she's blessed with the ability for numbers and the like while still havin the artistic skill though she did not pursue art degree. she's a chemistry graduate now based in France. she's enjoying museums, galleries and fashion in Paris. whatta life!

Mari, I don't think this is an area where they'd find you deficient. It's the reality of human interaction. Busa bitaw sa presentation ron, importante ang visuals (power point projection, aside from the bodily projections of the speaker) kay ang initial impression ug retention daw sa tawo, 70 percent from what they see and only 30 percent from what they hear you say.

this is what they call kung sa football pa 'INTIMIDATION', creating an impression for the employers

The Lord God has blessed all of us with skills, Mari!
God Bless your sister for making the best.
But I know that you are also very successful Mari!

Sure man ko you both are very smart!
Art is a gift, to which I do not have, sadly.

I am in awe and adore those who have this gift, tho.
I always love going to the art gallery and just looking at the chalk drawings, the coal sketches, the oil paintings, abstract projects, and the sculptures. Its a gift, absolutely!

Bless our artists!
May we have more artists, photographers, sculptors, fashion designers etc!

hehehe!

Salamat kaayo mari. Ma inspired pood ta--lagi. hehe.

Ning ingoon ahong priest one time, "Lorenzo, you know what is the difference between a priest and a physician?"

I answered him, "Yes, Fr, a doctor saves lives, and a priest ministers."

He humbled me, "No, my son, a priest doctors the soul to God. A physician doctors the body."

I smiled!

Then he added as parting words, "Remember my son, the greatest man that ever lived was not a priest, not a physician, but was a carpenter. Jesus from Bethlehem."

hehehehe!

AMEN!

mao na! hehe!

This past 3rd semester, was our hardest semester. And I admit that it was the 'test' of my life. We had Medical Immunology, Pharmacology, Medical Microbiolgy and General Pathology and Psychiatric Behavioural Science all in one semester. 8AM till 5 pm. Every single day.

During exam weeks, Mari, this was my schedule with my study mates (Korosh, Job, Thiru):
1. go to class
2. finish class
3. go home, shower, bring pillow
4. stay in libray from 6pm till 3-4 am.
5. nap for 30 minutes or 1 hour, then begin again.

Sometimes, Mari we ony sleep for 1-2 hours a day.
Sometimes we stay awak for 4-5 days straight.

Coffee has been so integral to keeping us awake, lol!

At the end of the day, after taking our exams , we would have a full grown beard. lol!

Thanks be to God we survived the 1st semester of 2nd year!

My friend Korosh and I are crazy tho, lol!

We were studying for our 3rd exam for Pharmacology and we had to memorize over 500 drug names, the indications, adverse effects, dosage, drug interaction, etc.

The day before the exams, we were talking about sex.
hahaha! he and i were in the lounge just talking about girls and sex. then it hit my mind that we did not sleep for almost 5 days.

I commented, "Korosh, it think we have excessive dopaminergic activity in our brain." and we bought laughed for like 30 minutes, yo. crazy. lol! because excessive dopamine does cause psychosis.
O man.

You know what was funny? on the exam the next day, there was a question on dopamine and psychosis. After the exam, all i could remember Korosh shouting out loud, "Haloperidol, Haloperidol!"

And i shouted, "Lithium Salt, Lithium Salt! Rivastigmine"

LOL!

(all of said drugs are curatives for excessive dopaminergic activity--leading to psychosis).

Then we crashed...LOL!
The next day, back to work na pood.
Back to Business.....hehe
