PGMA wins continuous support of Leyte leaders
Tacloban City (29 June 2005) -- Leyte leaders consider as a right move President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo's public apology for whatever lapses in decisions she has made.
Leyte Governor Carlos Jericjo Petilla welcomes the address of the President and said that what is best for now is to move forward so that the development of the country will not be stalled. Any destabilization move in Manila makes the foreign investors think twice in coming to the Philippines, Gov. Petilla added.
Representative Remedios L. Petilla when interviewed by local television stations and radio stations said that PGMA's acceptance is a laudable move. She said that we should head tha call of the President to unite together as a nation instead of pulling each other down so that we can achieve our economic and social goals. She said that even if we change the president everyday, still it will not solve our problems.
On the other hand, Tacloban City Mayor Alfredo Romualdez called PGMA's public apology as a noble act befitting a true and strong leader. He observed that Taclobanons are not greatly affected by the destabilization attempts in Manila knowing that these are the plots of the President's detractors. (PIA-AMO
