I admire PGMA, says Gov. Migs
ALABEL, Sarangani (29 June 2005) -- Governor Miguel "Migs" Dominguez said he cannot help but admire President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo's asking forgiveness from the Filipino people on a national television ending the controversial tapped conversation once and for all.
"Ganon na lang ang aking paghanga sa ating Presidente nang hingin nito ang kapatawaran ng sambayanan," he said during the 11th Regional Development Council-XII meeting here.
He stressed that it was not an easy thing to do for the highest official of the land to confess that she has indeed called up a Comelec official and say sorry for that "lapse in judgment."
But the decision, Dominguez added, was the best option at the moment if only to put an end to the divisive views arising from the wiretapped conversation of the President.
Assuring that she was taking full responsibility, President Arroyo last night, admitted to the nation that she committed a lapse in judgment in the intent to protect her votes.
Dominguez assured that the issue has never, in any way, affected the officialdom of Sarangani in its resolve to spur economic development in the province and urged the people to "move on" instead. (CTA/PIA-SarGen)
