So what if he is an American black or blue, or what so ever!

He is a comedian and he makes money (mane) for it!!!

I recall Filipino's here saying almost the same things during their last election.

Many in this forum ar Filipino/American does not mean we have to agree to what he is saying.

Islander it is not like this is the only country that gets ridiculed many countries on a daily basis get insulted by other nationalities.

It is known as a freedom of speech something we have in States, but if it is abused it can also get you into trouble.....

I maybe be a permanent resident here but it does not necessarly mean I agree with everything here just like Filipinos from here working or iving abroad may feel the same way. (Dance to the music!).

Oh shiiiit! he was with Larry King Live last night and he is a moron! yes he is a comedian (very least my favorite kay he is an idiot trying-hard to be one of Ray Romano and Howie Mandel's  level)  but he has a point of what he was saying. It is true. and the truth sometimes hurts di ba?

whoa!  that the truth hurts comes to mind as easy as abc.  but let's look for truths first, if there's any, in this comedian's statements:

1)  "Here's how you know when your country has a lot going for it:  When everything is about Manny Pacquiao."

FALSE.  Our country is not only about Manny Pacquiao.  It's also about EDSA uno and dos and probably tres and quatro ad infinitum, cheap prices (honest), the whole spectrum of creativity, positive outlook, the ability to smile in the midst of tragedy, real good doctors, history and tradition, and many, many more, including elections, noisy politicians and noisier supporters.  Pacquiao is simply current news; here today and probably gone tomorrow.  It's like saying that the US is all about Brangelina.  Which makes me wonder, would it have been truthful if some comedian said years ago that the US is all about Lorena Bobbit and how she cut off her husband's private part?  This was all the rage in US news and commentaries in the late 1990s!

FALSE.  No question, we have a life.  It's just that Carolla (who dat?) took it upon himself to advise another country as if he has the moral ascendancy.  Obviously he's never been to the Philippines, much less heard of Hayden Kho.  That guy can truly smash Carolla in more ways than one.

FALSE.  We know there are hundreds of thousands of other guys out there who can smash Carolla just as well.  Those guys may be retirees now, but once upon a time, they almost smashed the Beatles at the Manila airport, circa 1960s.  Read up, Carolla!  

Note that Pacquiao can speak and write in English, aside from his Filipino (Tagalog) and Visayan (Cebuano) languages.  You call that illiterate?  You cannot even speak English without the f-word, Carolla.  Worse, you don't know Tagalog, much less Boholano.  So who is illiterate?

FALSE.  Surely not.  More than Manny Pacquiao and sex stores (which are very few, really) are numerous malls, busy streets, the Chocolate Hills, Banawe Rice Terraces, halo-halo, tarsiers, 90-million strong Filipinos, and much, much more.  Too bad it seems as though Carolla had never read up anything, except perhaps on Manny Pacquiao, about this country, much less visited it.  How about knowing only of those numerous kinky sex shops in San Francisco or peep shows in New York and concluding that the US is only all about kinky sex and the false boobs of Pamela Anderson?     

“What happens when Floyd Mayweather beats him? Does your country go into depression?”

FALSE.  No, no, and no.  The country won't go into depression when Mayweather beats Pacquiao as the US went into depression for 'living beyond its means' (in the words of Paul Krugman, 2008 Nobel Laureate in Economics) helped by credit cards galore.  If Pacquiao is beaten, then he is beaten, and the Philippines will go on in its merry way.  When the US went into depression, it brought the whole world down with it.

So if truth hurts, do untruths tickle?
