I recall Filipino's here saying almost the same things during their last election.

Many in this forum ar Filipino/American does not mean we have to agree to what he is saying.

Islander it is not like this is the only country that gets ridiculed many countries on a daily basis get insulted by other nationalities.

It is known as a freedom of speech something we have in States, but if it is abused it can also get you into trouble.....

1) "Here's how you know when your country has a lot going for it: When everything is about Manny Pacquiao."

FALSE. Our country is not only about Manny Pacquiao. It's also about EDSA uno and dos and probably tres and quatro ad infinitum, cheap prices (honest), the whole spectrum of creativity, positive outlook, the ability to smile in the midst of tragedy, real good doctors, history and tradition, and many, many more, including elections, noisy politicians and noisier supporters. Pacquiao is simply current news; here today and probably gone tomorrow. It's like saying that the US is all about Brangelina. Which makes me wonder, would it have been truthful if some comedian said years ago that the US is all about Lorena Bobbit and how she cut off her husband's private part? This was all the rage in US news and commentaries in the late 1990s!

More than Manny Pacquiao and sex stores (which are very few, really) are numerous malls, busy streets, the Chocolate Hills, Banawe Rice Terraces, halo-halo, tarsiers, 90-million strong Filipinos, and much, much more. Too bad it seems as though Carolla had never read up anything, except perhaps on Manny Pacquiao, about this country, much less visited it. he already did? yes, bnc, the damage is irreparable. besides, this is old hat. too many actors, politicians and mediamen alike and heaven knows what and who else, have used this same trick. do or say something controversial enough to elicit adverse reactions from a big group of people (a sector, an organization, advocates or, in our case, a nation) and voila! one's name gets known and one's bankability can roll. apologize later. what's important is name recall; any news is good news anyway as long as one is remembered.

that's why carolla's apology is insincere. he may be a moron, but he's not insensate enough not to know before he opened his rotten mouth that what he was going to utter was meant to ridicule a people.

There are over 3 million Filipinos in the US and we can all unite to cause his career demise. That's what he deserves. Its been shown how racist and hateful he is, he doesn't have any chances left.

I haven't heard of this guy until this incident. It will make him famous (or infamous) if we circulate online petition against this guy. So I think it's better to just leave this guy alone. I don't want him to be known courtesy of the Filipinos.
