Russian general prepares to surrender Kherson, the first major city to Ukrainian Forces.
The Russian Forces occupying the city are cut off by the Dniepr River from the rest of their front line. Any attempts to establish new supply lines are constantly compromised with precision strikes from Ukrainian artillery units in the area. It is very difficult to effectively resupply forces across the wide river. Even if an attempt to defend the city is made by Russia, it would likely fail as a good defense requires solid supply lines which are missing from Kherson due to its complicated geographic position, poor Russian logistics, and lack of ability to defend against Ukrainian M142 HIMARS precision strikes. Russian forces are risking a major frontline collapse by keeping such a large force in a city that is almost entirely cut off at this point.
