What the US Army needs to regiment is the use of total armour for front line troops; like this:


Full body kevlar armour. Its protective, but the trade off is lack of maneuverability due to the weight and bulkyness.

In an effort to protect soldiers faces from flying derbis in war zones, a company called MTek has been testing a product called Predator Facial Armor. Because of the increased risk of airborne fragmentation threats, resulting from improvised explosive devices, also known as IED’s, MTek has produced the Predator Facial Armor System Technology, or FAST for short. The FAST G1, was designed for use by vehicle mounted personnel, more specifically crew served weapons operators.
