Barack Obama Too Risky? Says McCain Ad
« on: October 10, 2008, 08:11:29 AM »
Republican presidential hopeful John McCain has ratcheted up his assault on his Democratic rival's character, with a new advert branding him "too risky".

The ad accuses Barack Obama of hiding ties to Bill Ayers, an ex-member of former militant group, the Weathermen.

Mr Obama has insisted he is not close to Mr Ayers. A spokesman said the ad was a "desperate and dishonest" attack.

Meanwhile, in a bid to attract young voters, Mr Obama has reportedly bought advertising time on three MTV networks.

Officials at MTV told the New York Times newspaper that his campaign had bought advertising time on Comedy Central, VH1 and Spike and could start running ads very soon.

Mr Obama is the first US presidential candidate to buy advertising time on the networks, which did not previously allow political advertising, an MTV spokesman said. - BBC News

Too Risky?

Though I associate myself with the conservative party, and a supporter of Presidential Candidate, Dr. Ron Paul, I however went out of my way to support Sen. Obama instead of McCain.

McCain's policies are directly similar to that of Bush's. His economic plan and his medical insurance plan is what churns me.

Speaking as a Medical Student, and a proponent of life, and patient rights, we have over 40 Million non-insured American Citizens in the United States simply because they cannot afford it. The majority of these people are elderly and children of lower-income families.

McCain's policy when it comes to this aspect is based on : Economic Priority. At the expense of our un-insured Americans who live by day to day. Fearing that they don't get sick because they simply don't have the finances to afford an insurance plan that costs anywhere within 5000 to 6000 dollars a year.

In terms of education reforms. It is evident that Bush's 'No-Child Left Behind' Act has been a total and absolute failure. McCain is a proponent of this failed legislation.

We, fellow Americans, have suffered the pains of the Bush Administration for the past 8 years. Our economy is in shambles (just today the DOW dropped 600 points). Our military is over-stretched, our people are in turmoil, and we have been at war for over 5 years. And still no peace in sight.

It is in this time of turbulence and need that we desperately need someone to lead this country, our GREAT country, into the NEW PAX AMERICANA.

My support goes to Senator Obama.

I've been in the US since '74 and the country was economically sound under Democratic leadership.  the last 8 yrs with republicans was the same economic problems as 8 yrs under Reagan and it took Democrats to bail out the economic stress that republicans created...
