A WORKER had his neck slashed resulting to death in Cabawan district this city.
The same place was the scene where habal-habal driver Nelson Pacatang was dumped dead on the night of the city’s feastday, May 1.
Victim Edmar Lacea, of Buyog, Balilihan was found dead in a purok center in Cabawan after he stayed behind, to text with his cellphone, on the way home with three other co-workers of the Tinampay mango farm in the same barangay.
The police are now looking for a certain Romel de la Torre who was with the group and slept in the workers’ quarters on the night of the killing. De la Torre disappeared in the morning when the victim was found dead and one of the farm bolo was also missing, a co-worker told police investigators.
The suspect was a former worker of the mango farm and it could not be determined why he went back to the place that night. Police operatives returned negative after they pursued the suspect in barangay Katipunan, Carmen where his last address was known.
