Joseph "JJ" Alagon, 13, of Watson Court, Benicia California, USA was awarded a President's Education Award by US President George W. Bush and US Secretary of Education Margaret Spelling and Principal Susan Hutchinson for Outstanding Academic Excellence for the year 2007.
He is a Junior National Young Leaders Conference Alumnus - Washington D.C. Member, National Junior Honor Society, member Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) since 2004, member Gifted Student Academy, University of California - Irvine.
This is the second time that he received the Presidential award. He will enter his grade VIII this September 2007 at the Benicia Middle School. His hobbies include playing the piano, clarinet, basketball and video games. He is the eldest son of Joseph "Jojo" S. and Susan C. Alagon who are both nurses in California, USA and the grandson of Atty. Manny M. and Fancy S. Baluyot. (The Bohol Chronicle)
