Bohol may be lucky enough as Stephen Bryan Yu Bongcaras is the lone Boholano youth leader to have been chosen together with 160 youth leaders nationwide to participate in the 9th National Youth Parliament slated in May in Camarines Sur.

He will not only to represent the province but also the region wherein five of them from other provinces of Central Visayas have been slated to take part in the youth parliament, according to the sponsoring entity, the National Youth Commission in its press release.

Bongcaras, a resident of Uptown, Tiptip district, this city, is the son of Roberto Bongcaras and Ma. Rowena Yu Bongcaras, who are connected with the provincial government.

Stephen Bongcaras, a fourth-year in Nursing at Holy Name University, is a multi-awardee leader both as student and youth and the only member of the United Nations Population Funds Youth Advisory Panel or the UNFPA-YAP.

Among the colorful feathers in his cap is the Rotary Youth Awardee 2012. He is a recipient as Most Outstanding Youth Leader award of the Provincial HIV/AIDS Multi-sectoral Council.

This is not his first in attending big events for youth concers but also he has been one of the six delegates from Visayas to the International Youth and Volunteers Camp in Malaysia and only Boholano participant of the First Volunteer Youth Leaders for Health Philippines National Leadership Congress.

He is also elected as the National Focal Person of the National Council of Children and Young People on HIV/AIDS and he is a Master Trainer for youth Peer Education of the Philippines Red Cross and president of the Council of Presidents-Bohol Red Cross Youth.

The representatives were chosen based on their active involvement in the community, and service track record, awareness about youth issues and ability to present views and perspectives. The NYC, which is under the Office of the President, said the NYP is three-day convention wherein youth leaders can draft policy recommendation to address youth issues.” (RVO)

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
