Art Workshop in Bohol by Glenn Lumantao
« on: April 09, 2008, 03:51:43 AM »
press release
Bohol Chronicle

Bohol Wisdom School, known for its high academic standards is giving its students the chance to creatively spend summer.

The school enjoins pre-schoolers, elementary and high school students to a creative and worthwhile summer art workshop at the school campus which will run for five weeks.

The art workshop, covering various media, is set to begin on April 14 with artist Glenn Lumantao as mentor.

Sessions will cover lessons on basic sketching, freehand drawing, proper application of the different visual art media like oil pastels, watercolor and oil paints, along with the basic principle of art in terms of balance, composition, color harmony and chiaroscuro.

A special session on still life landscape and anatomy of common animals will be included, while portrait in charcoal pencil will be given as bonus lesson to the advance and older students.

Lumantao is also set to showcase his artworks in oil and acrylic in a first-ever solo exhibit sometime this summer. The exhibit will be sponsored by Kayla'a Beach Resort, a soon-to-open premier resort in Dimiao town.

Maybe, the Admin people can delete Glenn's cell number. Or maybe Melrose has to modify her post by deleting the cell number and you Ivy need to modify your post as well kay imo naman gi-quote ang message ni Melrose. I don't know this is just a suggestion. The Admin knows what to do.  :)

Raya hates it when I show off her works, pero di magpapugong ang amahan. This was the painting that won for her the grand prize from the Mayor of Tsukuba City in a city-wide competition for junior high school students here in Japan. Didn't know about this until I received the notice. She titled this "Rhythmn in Stick", probably in reference to her second love which is drums (and music). The reason I encourage her to pursue this when she is a little settled with her academics is that she told me she knows how to pencil-sketch but is not confident in watercolor. I really appreciate the help I could get from you by referring this mentor.

Rhythmn in stick.

Proud papa and mama.

when it comes to watercolor, i guess you should enroll her under ma'am nene lungay. she's the best. the mother and mentor of all artists. she's quite of age now but she still paints and gives instructions to talented kids. she has her arts workshop every summer but, i guess, she takes in students anytime.

Glen is my brother! I want him to come to Korea where I am now but it seems that he really wants to share his talent to the Boholanos. We talked about it, though. He sort of like considering my invitation. I hope no one will get mad at me....hehehe.

Don't get confused because my uncle Atty. Lumantao has a daughter with the same nickname as mine but her real name is Reynelda and mine is Ma. Neliza. She is a dentist working at the City Health Office. She just finished law and is now reviewing for the bar exams.
