In Germany, the pig is a traditional symbol of good luck at the beginning of a new year.

Saki monkeys are native to Brazil and other South American countries.

An African spurred tortoise (Geochelone sulcata) is seen inside its cage at the Emperor Valley Zoo
and Botanical Garden of Port of Spain in Trinidad and Tobago.
The African spurred tortoise is the 3rd largest tortoise in the world.
The sulcata is the only tortoise in the world that is fully adapted for terrestrial life.

The endangered golden lion tamarins were born on March 10, 2008, and are named Alex and Annie.
Golden lion tamarins are native to the coastal forests of Brazil and are classified as endangered
since there are only an estimated 1,000 individuals remaining in the wild.

The Grey Crowned Crane is about 1 m (3.3 ft) tall and weighs 3.5 kg (7.7 lbs).
Its body plumage is mainly grey. The wings are also predominantly white,
but contain feathers with a range of colours.
